Marrying My Bestie's Ferocious Brother - He Calls Me His Baby!-Chapter 243 - 242: You Call My Kid a Porcelain Doll? My Son Strikes Back and Schools the Bully
Lin Wan Yi slowly put down the little porcelain spoon in her hand.
The spoon clinked against the edge of the bowl, making a crisp sound.
In this deliberately quiet moment, the sound was particularly clear.
She raised her head, her gaze falling on Sun Cuixia.
That gaze was very calm, without anger or any ripple, as if she were looking at a stranger.
"Children are growing, as long as they eat their fill."
Lin Wan Yi spoke in a gentle voice, with a hint of a smile.
Sun Cuixia’s face suddenly turned red.
She felt as if the punch she had thrown with all her might had landed on cotton.
No.
Even more uncomfortable than hitting cotton.
Lin Wan Yi’s words, her demeanor, made Sun Cuixia’s earlier snide remarks seem like the ramblings of an ignorant madwoman.
A few families nearby, who were enjoying the cool air, couldn’t help but let the corners of their mouths twitch.
Although it was quickly suppressed, Sun Cuixia still caught that hint of a smile.
Her face turned from red to green.
"Eating till full? It depends on what you eat!"
Sun Cuixia was so angry she spoke without thinking, yanking her son who was gnawing on a bread dumpling over to her.
"Our Da Hu can eat three big bread dumplings in one sitting!"
She patted her son’s chest, as if showcasing some incredible treasure.
"Look at this build! This is a revolutionary successor! Sturdy!"
"Unlike some kids, raised like porcelain dolls, blown over by the wind!"
She spat furiously.
The people around remained silent.
Lin Wan Yi ignored her.
She just took a small oil-paper package out of her cloth bag.
Opened it slowly.
A few bright red fruits rolled out.
The fruits were only the size of a fingernail, plump and shiny, with a surface that seemed coated in honey under the sunlight, crystal clear.
Like rubies.
A sweet scent instantly filled the air.
Da Hu, who was vigorously gnawing on the dry bread, paused.
He sniffed hard, staring fixedly at the fruits in Lin Wan Yi’s hand.
Drool slowly slid down his mouth.
"Ningning, have a fruit."
Lin Wan Yi picked one up and placed it into her daughter Gu Ning’s open mouth.
Gu Ning smacked her lips contentedly, her little face full of happiness.
The bright red fruit made Da Hu’s yellow-black bread dumpling in his hand seem like a lump of mud.
"Wa—"
The bread dumpling in Da Hu’s hand fell to the ground with a "plop."
He pointed at the small red fruits in Lin Wan Yi’s hand and started crying loudly.
"I want it too! I want to eat that red fruit!"
The cries were loud and bright, drawing more eyes over.
Sun Cuixia’s face cycled through green and white before settling on a livid hue.
"Why are you crying! You useless thing!"
She slapped her son on the back in exasperation.
"What’s so good about a stupid fruit! Can it fill you like bread dumplings?"
Though cursing, her eyes couldn’t help drifting to the fruits.
So pretty.
Smells so sweet too.
Da Hu cried even harder, rolling on the ground.
"I want it! I want it!"
Sun Cuixia’s face completely lost composure.
She felt all the gazes around her were like needles pricking at her.
To salvage her pride, she bit her lip, putting on an aggressive expression.
"Alright, alright! Stop crying!"
She pointed at a few children playing marbles not far away.
"Go! Play with them! Aren’t you the king of the kids? Make them all listen to you!"
Da Hu immediately got up at this.
His face still wet with tears, his expression already boasting.
He ran over like a little bull, charging at them.
Easily pushed a shorter boy to the ground.
The marbles on the ground were snatched up by him.
"All mine! All mine!"
Da Hu held up the colorful marbles triumphantly.
The boy who was pushed down lay on the ground crying loudly.
Sun Cuixia watched this, finally smiling proudly.
"Look, our Da Hu really has skills." She spoke to the air, as if talking to herself, or maybe to everyone.
Lin Wan Yi didn’t even glance at her.
Her gaze fell a little farther away.
Her son Gu An was quietly sitting on the grass.
He wasn’t looking at anyone, nor reacting to the noise around.
His small body focused on a pile of "junk" in front of him.
A few thin wires, a small piece of wood, and an elastic band picked up from somewhere.
His little hands, chubby yet extraordinarily nimble.
One wire bent into an odd shape in his hand.
The elastic band was carefully stretched between the ends of the wood.
Everything else seemed unrelated to him.
Da Hu was bored after snatching the marbles.
He turned his head and immediately spotted Gu An, alone there.
And the peculiar "toy" in Gu An’s hand.
Da Hu’s eyes lit up.
He hadn’t seen that "junk" before.
He dropped the marbles, striding over to Gu An.
"Hey! Let me play with what you have!"
He shouted as he ran, commanding in tone.
Sun Cuixia saw this and not only didn’t stop him, but folded her arms, relishing the spectacle.
She wanted to see if this pampered son of a bourgeois lady would also be a pushover.
Gu An raised his head.
His big black-grape-like eyes calmly watched Da Hu rushing at him.
No fear, no dodge.
Da Hu reached him.
He rudely reached out to grab the wooden frame from Gu An.
Just as his hand was about to touch the device.
Gu An’s small hand moved lightly.
His index finger gently strummed the tight elastic band.
"Whoosh—"
A faint sound of air being split.
A small stone, placed earlier on the wooden frame, shot out unbiasedly.
The stone traced an unseen curve.
Right on Da Hu’s ankle as he charged in.
"Yeow—!"
A scream as miserable as a slaughtered pig echoed through the compound.
Just moments ago, Da Hu was strutting boldly; now he seemed electrically shocked.
He clutched his foot, hopping in pain. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Then sat down with a thud.
He was stunned for two seconds.
Then erupted in his loudest sob yet.
"Wa—! My foot! My foot broke! Wa—!"
Sun Cuixia’s smile froze instantly.
She dashed over, picking up her son.
"What happened? Da Hu! What’s wrong?"
"He hit me! He hit me with something!" Da Hu pointed at Gu An, still quietly sitting, crying out of breath.
Sun Cuixia suddenly lifted her head.
Her gaze was as sharp as daggers, viciously aimed at Lin Wan Yi.
She exploded completely.
A finger pointed directly at Lin Wan Yi.
"Lin Wan Yi!"
Her voice was as sharp as nails scraping glass.
"Your son hit someone!"
