Chapter 394 - CRASH

Two Days Later.

In Coldland.

Inside a cafe that was relatively busy at the current time, two individuals were sitting alone at a table with clothing that covered most of their faces.

They were Ichiro and Azura; the reason for their visit to the cafe was the building on the opposite side of the road.

A Police Station, where police officers walked in and out of the building.

Azura was tapping her feet on the floor anxiously.

Ichiro was calmly sipping a coffee, but his focus was sharply on the police station.

''I don't get it…'' Azura covered her face and asked, ''Why are they targeting my mother?''

Ichiro took another sip of the coffee and soon replied, ''They aren't especially targeting her. Instead, everyone who was in contact with Abyss will be questioned… It is a very sensitive matter after all.''

Azura sighed and murmured, ''I shouldn't have left her alone…''

''She will be fine.'' Ichiro said with certainty, ''Once she leaves the police station, we can finally meet up with her and leave Coldland.''

Azura nodded and hoped that her mother would be able to leave safely.

Soon, the police station's doors opened, and the exhausted woman left the building.

She couldn't even take a step before getting surrounded by hungry-looking reporters.

''Mom…'' Azura bit her lip, and tears started brimming in the corner of her eyes.

Alena looked much more tired than before.

''I shouldn't have left…'' She once again murmured.

Alena walked past the reporters that kept bumping and trying to stop her, but soon, she managed to reach the taxi that was specially waiting for her.

Azura stood up and was about to leave the building but saw her boyfriend still sitting.

''Why aren't we going?'' She asked and looked at the taxi with an anxious gaze, ''The taxi will soon leave.''

''Look.'' Ichiro pointed at the police station's doors, where two police officers left and entered their car.

Soon, the taxi started driving away, and the police car instantly followed behind.

Azura widened her eyes in shock, ''Why… Why are they following my mother?''

''Not sure, but it's time to go.'' Ichiro quickly stood up and narrowed his eyes, ''She might be in danger…''

Half an hour later.

Alena exited the car and paid the driver before entering the mansion.

Once she entered the mansion through the front door, the empty and dark mansion became visible.

At this time, she wished that she was living in her previous broken apartment; at least that way, she wouldn't feel so lonely.

*Thud*

She dropped her purse and dragged her feet behind her as she slowly made her way over to the living room.

The living room was pitch dark, and she could barely see in front of her. She didn't turn on the lights, instead sat down on the sofa.

There was a small table next to the window; the light coming from the window could barely light up the area around the table.

On top of the small table, a framed picture was barely visible.

''Azura… Sigh…'' She sighed after seeing her daughter's picture with a giant smile on her adorable face.

'Maybe I should have gone with them.' She had regrets and knew that they would allow her to come with them if she wanted, but she didn't want to be a third wheel.

''Haaahhh…''

Her eyes widened in shock after feeling a hot breath on her nape; someone was behind her!

She was about to turn her head around, but a sharp wire-like time appeared around her neck, and soon the wire tightened, and all air was cut out from her lungs.

''UGH!'' She quickly put her fingers on the way and could barely breathe with this way, but the wire was digging through her flesh, making her fingers and neck bleed.

''Hmph.'' Behind her, a shadowy figure became visible. He was holding a lengthy wire in his hand, which he was using to choke Alena.

''Ahhh!'' Alena screamed with horror in her eyes. She slammed her head behind her, trying to hit the one who attacked her, but to no avail.

The wire tightened, disabling Alena's ability to breathe.

It didn't take long for her pale face to turn red.

*THUD*

The shadowy figure pulled Alena closer, which made the sofa wall down.

He pulled her trembling body closer until their bodies were touching each other.

''Where is your daughter?'' He asked with a bone-chilling voice and loosened the wire, only enough for her to be able to speak.

Alena widened her eyes in shock, ''W-Why…''

''Answer me!'' He shouted and threw Alena across the living room.

*BAM*

Her body crashed on the wall and landed on the floor with blood flowing from her neck.

*SWOOSH*

The shadowy figure moved the wire in his arm like a whip and lashed it towards Alena!

The wire wrapped around her neck, and the shadowy figure used it to pull her back to him.

''Ah!'' Alena's body crashed with his fist and crashed onto the ground with blood flowing from her nose and mouth.

Tears gushed out of her eyes as she asked, ''Why…?''

''Tell me where your daughter is, now.'' The shadowy figure wrapped the wire around his fist and said, ''I know countless ways to make your life a living hell.

Alena bit her lip and hatefully glared at the shadowy figure, ''N-No… I-I won't!''

''Fine then.'' The shadowy figure shook his head and continued, ''Everyone acts tough at first, but when it gets messy, they will regret not revealing the information.''

''One final chance.'' The shadowy figure grabbed her from her long hair and grinned, ''Tell me where she is; this is your final chance.''

''N-No.''

''Sigh…'' The shadowy figure sighed, ''This will be a long day, but I will enjoy this.''

The shadowy figure slammed her head on the wooden floor and scanned her from head to toe.

''Hmm, your body is quite attractive. This will be quite fun.'' Alena's face became even paler, while his grin started growing bigger.

But then…

*CRASH!*
