Chapter 409 - Police Commissioner, Marshall

Inside Martial Arts Building.

In one of the locker rooms.

A flicker of light was seen in the dimly lit room.

On one of the benches, a black-haired youth was sitting in a fighting uniform, which consisted of a white short-sleeved shirt and baggy pants.

He was currently gathering his thoughts before the start of the Martial Rank test.

Ichiro's eyelids were calmly shut, and the sound of calm breathing left from his mouth.

His eyelids slowly opened, and he looked right in front of him, where a small mirror was located.

The mirror was nailed to the wall with four screws.

Ichiro could clearly see the shadowy outline of his face.

''Whew…'' He shook his head and took his shoes from the bench.

Once he finished putting them on his feet, he heard a knocking sound coming from the door.

*Knock* *Knock*

Ichiro didn't answer yet and kept twiddling his fingers to calm his nerves.

He wasn't nervous because of the test; instead about his True Iron Style.

He will be able to see the strength of the True Iron Style finally, and it will determine whether it was a mistake or an excellent choice to abandon the former Iron Style.

''Let's do it…'' Ichiro slammed his knees and turned his gaze towards the door, ''Come in.''

*Creak*

The locker room's door opened, and a man with professional attire appeared.

He had a short beard with ginger hair and somewhat average facial features.

In his suit, his nametag was hanging from his chest.

[Leo]

Leo carried stacks of papers in his hand and slowly walked towards Ichiro.

Once he was a meter away from him, he politely bowed and said, ''I am the referee of the test; you can call me Leo.''

Ichiro nodded and continued listening.

''I am here to tell you about the test.'' Leo sat down on the bench and gave the papers to Ichiro.

Ichiro caught them and started reading them through.

''The test will be slightly different…'' Leo rubbed his cheek and said, ''Your request came suddenly, and we weren't prepared for it, but gladly, we managed to find someone who will be your opponent in the test.''

''Who?'' Ichiro asked.

''Police Commissioner with the name of Marshall.'' Leo said and continued, ''He is Irio's Police Commissioner, and he agreed when we asked from him.''

Ichiro nodded and asked, ''Do you know why?''

Leo shook his head, ''Not sure, but I have to give you a warning.''

''Hmm?'' Ichiro stopped reading and looked at Leo with a frown.

''We told him to go all-in.'' Leo said seriously, ''He will fight in his full strength for five minutes… If you manage to survive that long, you will be Martial Commander in official books.''

''Alright.'' Ichiro grabbed a pencil and wrote his name on the papers.

The papers were contract that said if he gets injured, he won't sue them.

''Thank you.'' Leo sighed and said, ''We had to get your signature because some entitled bricks got a scratch on their ranking test and sued our company for millions.''

Ichiro nodded and understood that it had to be done.

Leo stood up and said one final words, ''Good luck and… Shout I give up if you think your life is in danger.''

Ichiro nodded.

Leo left the room and saw the crowded spectator stands.

More and more students entered the building, making the Martial Arts Hall very loud.

''Whew…'' He fixed his collar and straightened his back.

He slowly walked towards the center of the building, which attracted everyone's attention.

Everyone slowly quieted down.

Leo took a deep breath and opened his mouth, ''Martial Ars Rank test is about to commence. Everyone be quiet and respectful during the test, thank you.''

The students and teachers nodded. They knew that interrupting the one who was doing the test was pretty much a crime.

''Now. Let's welcome the one who accepted to be the test opponent!'' Leo pointed towards one of the locker rooms and shouted, ''Police Commissioner, Marshall!''

Once that name was shouted, everyone widened their eyes in shock and couldn't believe it.

One of the locker rooms opened, and an individual appeared.

He was a middle-aged man with dark hair and eyes that showed boundless confidence in his own strength and the wisdom that followed.

He was currently wearing Police Uniform usually used by Police Commissioners.

It consisted of a dark blue jacket with golden buttons and dark blue pants.

*Clap* *Clap*

Everyone started clapping with both respect and for all the things he had done.

Marshall nodded at everyone and stopped next to Leo.

Leo gulped after feeling the powerful aura around Marshall that forced everyone near him to bow.

But, Leo managed to fight against it with his Martial Captain physique.

''No way.'' In the first row, Azumi covered her mouth in surprise, ''Our son is fighting the Police Commissioner?''

Eiji bit his lip and muttered, ''This is bad…''

''Is he really that strong?'' Azura asked, 'Isn't he only Martial Commander? They act like he is Martial King.'

Alena crossed her arms and didn't comment.

She knew that someone at Martial Commander was a strong individual in a weak country like Gensa, but he wasn't nothing in her eyes.

''Of course.'' Azumi replied and continued, ''He is Irio's Police Commissioner who has been fighting against criminals since he was young.''

''Yes.'' Eiji sighed, and there was a time when he wanted to be the Police Commissioner, ''He is the strongest person in Irio and once defeated criminal who was Peak Martial Captain.''

''Oh,'' Azura replied simply. She still doesn't understand what was so great about him.

Marshall kept waving his hand while scanning everyone in the building.

Azura was sitting innocently, but suddenly she felt shivers on her back.

She frowned and turned her head.

A few rows away from her, a beautiful black-haired girl looked straight at her without blinking.

Azura raised her eyebrow and wondered why she was looking right at her.

''Amanda, where are you looking?'' The black-haired girl's friend asked.

''Nowhere,'' Amanda replied and looked away.
