Martial Arts Worlds-Chapter 280: Imagination Fighter
"…"
Roy sat cross-legged on his team's bench, his eyes closed, and his ears deafened from the outside world.
He was drifting into his own world where he was the strongest and most famous person in existence.
A small smile played on his lips.
At that moment, his dreams shattered as someone grabbed him by the shoulder and shook him awake from his daydream.
"What is it?"
Roy asked in frustration.
"Wake up, Roy. Your turn is soon."
The coach said with a heavy expression.
"Already?"
Roy frowned and opened his eyes.
He looked towards the ring and saw Harit shedding blood. There was nothing he could do except block, and block, and block until the onslaught was over.
Julian buried his fist deep into his stomach, making him hunch over in pain, and then another punch sent him flying.
With no one catching him, Harit flew out of the ring, landing hard on the cold, concrete floor.
Whistle~
"The fight is over!"
It was a short fight.
"Shit…"
The coach messed up his combed hair and muttered curses under his breath. It wasn't looking good for them.
Despite Roy being their ace, he would have to defeat two extremely powerful opponents to win.
"It looks like the fight between Karuza High and Baobab High is reaching its ending stages. Julian Noah, who had already shown great promise, has won two fights in a row!
"Now, he is facing off against Baobab High's ultimate ace, Roy McHavellen. This is Julian's ultimate testing ground, whether he is on the same level as other aces!"
The commentators shouted into the microphone.
"Whoo…"
Kiernan leaned forward on the bench and breathed heavily.
"What's up? That was one deep sigh."
Coach Jin asked, side-glancing at him with a curious expression.
"Impatient, I suppose."
Kiernan said and leaned back on the bench.
"I haven't fought a single fight yet."
"Do you want to take Julian's spot?"
Coach Jin asked.
This 𝓬ontent is taken from freeweɓnovel.cѳm.
'I think it would be good for Kiernan to fight a match to shed off his nervousness so he is ready for later stages.'
He thought to himself.
"Hmm, no need. I'll fight when it is time."
Kiernan said.
…
"Hmm~"
Roy stepped to the step of the stairs, then moved to the second step, then the third, and then the fourth.
He arrived at the ring and walked to his corner with a smile on his face.
"I am an undefeated champion… Undefeated!"
He pulled his head back and laughed towards the sky.
'What the hell is wrong with him?'
Julian's eyebrow twitched.
"Julian Noah vs. Roy McHavellen!"
The referee pointed at them, asked whether they were ready, and after hearing their confirmation, he blew his whistle to start the match.
"Fight fair! Go!"
On the sidelines, Coach Jin focused his attention on Roy. This young man confused him to no end, as he didn't understand how strong he really was.
'What is his martial arts… Well, I don't care.'
Julian smirked, then strode forward and punched ahead. The strength of his martial soul moved to one spot in his fist.
"Metal Smash!"
Roy suddenly lunged underneath the fist, wrapped his arms around Julian's waist, and started pushing him towards the edge of the ring.
"Undefeated Champion's Push of Victory!"
However.
Julian planted his footwear-wearing feet onto the ground and stopped Roy's push with a powerful stance.
It felt like he was a tree, planted to the ground with roots sticking deep into the earth.
"Eh? My Push of Victory was stopped?"
Roy exclaimed in shock.
In his daydreams, his Push of Victory was an undefeatable technique that was able to defeat the strongest of fighters with ease!
'Is this guy serious?'
Julian frowned, grabbed him by the shoulders, and tossed him aside. Roy rolled on the ground, and when his roll stopped, he quickly stood back up.
"Alright! What about my Kick of Victory?"
Roy suddenly started running, building up speed before leaping into the air, twisting his body, and kicking his leg down at Julian.
"Undefeated Champion's Kick of Victory!"
With ease, Julian caught the kick, grabbed him by the ankle, and then smashed him down to the ground.
SMASH!
"Argh!"
Roy's eyes shook, and he coughed out blood, but then he whipped his other leg and kicked Julian across his face.
"?!"
Julian's head snapped back from the powerful blow, and he accidentally let go of Roy's ankle, giving him enough freedom to stand back up.
"Shit…"
He cursed.
The kick actually landed straight into his eye, making him momentarily blind on the right side.
'Was that a coincidence or intentional? Whatever it was, he has insane control of the body.'
"Hehe…"
Roy chuckled, but he was also still suffering from the pain of getting his entire body smashed into the concrete ground.
'It looks like he is a formidable opponent for an undefeated champion like me. I am not worried, though, as I have other paths to victory that I hadn't used yet!'
Roy moved into a karate stance with his front foot pointing towards his opponent and his back foot at a slight angle.
"Bring it on, buddy. You're going to be facing my Champion's Karate!"
'Is this guy serious? He acts like a child. Is this guy just doing whatever he has imagined to fight?'
Julian realized that he was fighting against quite a unique fighter. Someone he hadn't seen before in his life.
'Roy is not a natural fighter. It is clear that he has his own martial arts, but something he has created by himself in his imagination.
'Usually, when martial artists create their own style, it all starts from imagination, but when they try those techniques, they almost never work and need some tweaking and refining to become effective in real combat situations.
'Roy, on the other hand, is capable of doing the techniques that he had imagined in his wild imaginations. It's something that not many can do.'
Baobab High's coach thought inside his mind.
It was something he realized during Roy's first year in Baobab High.
After surfing through the internet for answers, he realized that Roy was a special kind of fighter.
'There are Natural Fighters, who don't have to rely on their martial arts, but then there are also Imagination Fighters, who rely on their imagination to fight.'
When he realized that Roy was that type of fighter, he immediately put all his attention and effort into training him.
He was sure that one day, Roy would become one of the greatest fighters in New Rakuya.
He was only limited by his imagination, and someone with a wild imagination like him, the ceiling was limitless.
