Martial Arts Worlds-Chapter 287: Triple Point Strike Returns
Hedda, like a snake, mounted herself on top of Jonathan and trapped his legs with her own. She immediately showed her expertise with grappling.
"Urgh!"
Jonathan fought back, using his arms to push against her, but she was too strong. He couldn't break off the mounted position.
It was a position that some young men would enjoy, being mounted by a pretty young woman, but he didn't have any pleasure of enjoying it.
She moved quickly, putting more and more pressure on him, locked in place, unable to escape.
"Shit! What a mistake!"
Dominic grimaced and thought that Jonathan made a grave mistake. He wouldn't have done that.
Their coach just said that Hedda was expert in grappling, and allowing her to gain advantage like that was a huge mistake!
"Why did he do that? Jonathan isn't much of a striker, and he handed her advantage on a silver plate!"
Julia cried out.
'You cannot use Sky Drop from a grappling position. A simple mistake, perhaps?'
Kiernan thought to himself, trying to understand Jonathan's error.
In the match, Jonathan suddenly slapped Hedda's hand away and touched her face with his other one.
He squeezed his fingers into a claw and grabbed her face hard enough to leave red marks on her skin.
"…"
Hedda stayed silent and stayed in her mounted position.
The clawed fingers hurt her, somewhat, but not enough for her to abandon her advantageous position.
'That's the Sky Drop stance!'
Julian thought to himself.
"Huff… huff… You should be careful. I have the advantage now."
Jonathan said, a sly grin spreading across his face, but he couldn't hide the clear exhaustion coming off his face.
"What do you mean? I've the superior position. I am in control here."
Hedda said with a frown and pulled her head back to remove the hand off her face, but the fingers were so tightly grabbing her face that she winced in pain.
She noticed that she couldn't remove the fingers from her face!
"Heh, you see? I've trained the strength of my fingers to be able to hold onto anything with an unbreakable grip. It is so that when I grab someone with Sky Drop, they can't tear off my grip."
Jonathan gloated with a smile.
Hedda looked surprised.
At that moment, Jonathan suddenly lifted her up into the air, flipped her to the side, and then mounted her, sitting right on top of her stomach.
He was still grabbing her by the face.
With his other hand, he started throwing punches at her ribs and stomach, causing her to gasp for breath in pain.
Hedda quickly wrapped her legs around his back and pulled him closer to her to try and defend herself from the blows.
Jonathan's grip on her face slipped, and Hedda quickly turned around, lying on her stomach, and hid her face in the crook of her elbow.
This was a very defensive position, and she rarely ended in this position, but she didn't want to give her attacker any advantage.
She believed that this was a better position for her.
"Haaah…"
Hedda breathed deeply to try to calm her racing heart.
'I underestimated him. This is what he wanted, and I walked right into his trap.'
She furrowed her brows.
Jonathan quickly tried to wrap his arms around her neck, trying to put her into a chokehold, but she quickly put her arm between Jonathan's arm and her neck.
She blocked the chokehold attempt!
"Try to break free! Grappling isn't working! Go on your feet!"
The coach of Kanyon High screamed.
'I am… trying!'
Hedda wobbled side to side, trying to shake Jonathan off her back, but he wrapped his legs around her torso.
"Uff!"
Hedda flipped to the side, landing hard on the ground, and smacked her head on Jonathan's nose.
Spurt!
Jonathan's nose started bleeding profusely.
His hold on her loosened, and she quickly crawled out of the grappling position. As soon as she was free, she jumped to her feet and retreated to a safe distance.
She breathed heavily.
Shockingly enough, she lost the grappling match, which was her specialty. It was because once she lost her advantage, it was hard to win it back.
It was because in grappling, strength didn't matter as much as technique and strategy.
"Good! Good!"
The coach clapped his hands in approval.
"Hmph."
Thorsten scoffed.
He didn't like the fact that Hedda was struggling against Jonathan, a weakling that should be done by now.
'Hedda and Edwin must either defeat Julian or exhaust him enough so I can finish him off easily. I don't care about fighting him. I want to fight Kiernan!'
Thorsten was growing impatient.
"Ah, frick…"
Jonathan touched his bleeding nose, pinched the bridge and exhaled heavily.
'Well, now what… In the infirmary bed, I only thought about a couple of plans. The grappling included two of them. I don't have anything left, so I guess I go down swinging.'
"Haa! Haa! Fuck!"
Jonathan swung his fist at her. Hedda dodged and jabbed him in the waist, causing him to double over in pain.
"Shit!"
Jonathan jabbed towards her, but she weaved through her fists and landed a powerful uppercut to his jaw.
Thwack!
Hedda turned around and horse-kicked him in the midsection, sending him sliding across the concrete floor.
"Argh! Ptui!"
Jonathan spat out a mouthful of drool and struggled to get back on his feet.
Hedda's fist flew towards his face, but out of pure instinct, he grabbed her fist, pressed his fingers against it, and brought her arm down.
Then, with his other fist, he brought his hooked middle finger forward and punched it forward three times.
"Triple Point Strike!"
"?!"
Kiernan's eyes widened in surprise.
This was one of his Iron Style techniques!
It was the technique he used to defeat Jonathan back in the day in that alleyway shortly after his reincarnation.
'He… learned it?'
The hooked middle finger landed on Hedda's face, but when it landed on her forehead, his middle finger broke from the force of the Iron Style techniques!
"Ah…"
Jonathan exclaimed.
Triple Point Strike misfired!
When he initially lost to Kiernan, he remembered the loss for months. The attack, Triple Point Strike, stayed on his mind for months.
He tried to learn it, and he thought he did, but this was the first time he properly used it in a match.
The technique failed.
'Why… did it fail?'

"Haaa!"
Hedda smashed her fist at his face.
SMACK!
'It failed.'
Kiernan shook his head.
'Triple Point Strike attacks three points in a person's face. If your accuracy is even slightly off, by a single millimeter, the attack will fail, and the finger will break. He missed.'
