Chapter 6258: Forging the Secret Skill
“Chu Feng, they must be seething with hatred. There’s no way they will spare you,” Eggy said.
“Definitely. Why else would they plant so many location talismans inside my Cosmos Sacks?” Chu Feng replied.
The location talismans were fused inside the cultivation resources, making them extremely discreet, but they couldn’t escape Chu Feng’s notice.
Chu Feng lingered on the 98th floor. The spectators continued to pay attention to him because they were curious what he was going to do, but he suddenly formed a hand seal and vanished into thin air.
“Where did he go?”
The Huangfu Heavenly Clansmen outside instinctively sensed that things were about go awry. They began to quietly form an encirclement around Jie Shanxian to seal her routes of escape, knowing that she was with Chu Feng.
“The Huangfu Heavenly Clansmen aren’t going to let you leave that easily,” the Seven Realms Immortal Sect’s sectmaster told Jie Shanxian via voice transmission.
“Let them try,” Jie Shanxian scoffed.
“Where do you think that young friend went?” the sectmaster asked.
“I don’t know,” Jie Shanxian replied curtly.
The sectmaster could tell that Jie Shanxian was not interested in discussing this matter, so he didn’t bother asking more, though he turned his eyes to the Immemorial Bloodline Tower’s peak. He deduced that since Chu Feng knew how to find and resolve those formations, he likely knew more secrets about the tower.
The biggest secret about the Immemorial Bloodline Tower should be at its peak, though that was not necessarily the case since there was a section on the 99th floor blocked from outside view too.
“Have you found a way to enter the 99th floor yet?” Huangfu Zhantian asked the Huangfu Heavenly Clan’s elders.
His deduction coincided with the Seven Realms Immortal Sect’s sectmaster. He thought that Chu Feng must have entered the peak or the section of the 99th floor that was shielded from their view.
Unfortunately, the Huangfu Heavenly Clan had no idea how to enter the 99th floor despite having entered the tower many times before. This was the first time they had a chance to enter the 99th floor.
That was why they left a group of people to continue investigating the tower even though they needed as many clansmen as possible to refine the formations Chu Feng discovered.
“We haven’t found the way into the 99th floor yet,” an elder replied.
“Useless!” Huangfu Zhantian berated.
In truth, he wasn’t confident of finding a path to the 99th floor even if he entered the tower.
...
In truth, Chu Feng had entered a formation passageway.
The passageway was so short that it felt like he was stepping through a door instead. On the other side of the passageway was a majestic palace. This was the section of the 99th floor that the spectators outside couldn’t see.
“B-b-brother, what took you s-s-so long?” a familiar voice echoed from behind.
Chu Feng didn’t need to look to know that it was Wang Qiang.
“Those Huangfu fools were working as coolies for me,” Chu Feng replied.
“Oh? H-h-how did you make them do it?” Wang Qiang was intrigued.
“A huge amount of bloodline power is needed to acquire the power here. Unlike the tower activation, which is more demanding on bloodline quality, what I got the Huangfu Heavenly Clansmen to do is more demanding on bloodline quantity. It would have taken me a long time to do it myself. Since they have more people, I had them help me instead.”
“A-a-and they were willing to help you?”
“Of course not. They thought I voluntarily handed the benefits to them because I was intimidated. Little do they know that I have already imprinted on all the formations. They are merely working for me now,” Chu Feng replied.
“Holy shit! Won’t they d-d-die of anger once they learn the truth? Looks like a conflict with the Huangfu Heavenly Clan is i-i-inevitable,” Wang Qiang replied.
“Not necessarily,” Chu Feng replied.
“H-h-huh?” Wang Qiang was confused.
“There are no definites in the world.” Chu Feng chuckled, choosing to keep Wang Qiang in suspense. “Brother, why didn’t you breach the formation?”
He already knew what was hidden here, and he knew that he could tell that the formation wouldn’t be too tough to breach either. What was difficult was the subsequent trial, though he was confident Wang Qiang could conquer it.
“I’m waiting f-f-for you to share the benefits. Brother, what’s h-h-hiding here?” Wang Qiang asked.
“It’s a secret skill. You can think of it as an additional benefit from the Immemorial Bloodline Tower. Brother, I shan’t beat around the bush. The power here could potentially strengthen my bloodline power, so I’m planning to take it for myself. You should take the secret skill. I’ll help you if you aren’t able to breach the formation,” Chu Feng said.
“S-s-secret skill? What kind of secret skill?” Wang Qiang asked.
“This secret skill is currently incomplete, but it will complete itself based on your traits. In other words, it is a secret skill tailored to your needs,” Chu Feng replied.
“H-h-holy! That’s some good stuff!” Wang Qiang exclaimed.
“Indeed.”
“I-I-I can’t monopolize something as good as that! Brother, let’s do s-s-scissors paper stone. Whoever loses gets the secret skill.”
“Why does the loser get the secret skill?”
“Hehe, it’s the spirit of giving. It shows h-h-how close we are.” Wang Qiang chuckled.
“Let’s cut the nonsense. I take the power; you take the secret skill. There’s also something at the peak that I covet, and it’s more important than this secret skill. Take the secret skill if you consider yourself my brother,” Chu Feng said.
“Your words make sense, b-b-but I haven’t contributed at all. I just h-h-happen to be here, or else everything would have been yours. It’s like I’m f-f-freeloading off you.” Wang Qiang felt embarrassed.
“Brothers share fortune and woes. Think of it as us stumbling upon three delicacies together. Even if I found it first, I can’t monopolize everything without leaving a dish aside for you. That would be too much, no? If I did so, it would mean that I don’t see you as my brother,” Chu Feng said.
“That k-k-kind of makes sense.”
“It’s not ‘kind of makes sense’. It makes perfect sense. Besides, sharing things with my brothers brings me a feeling of accomplishment and fulfillment. You shouldn’t rob me of my happiness just because you feel embarrassed,” Chu Feng said.
“F-f-fine, I shan’t be so indecisive. I’ll be t-t-taking the secret skill then.” Wang Qiang chuckled as he began breaching the formation.
Chu Feng thought that Wang Qiang wouldn’t have trouble with the formation, but two hours passed and there was still no response from Wang Qiang. It made him realize that the formation might be more difficult than he had anticipated.
All of a sudden, the palace shook. Countless surges of auras manifested all around the palace.
Chu Feng observed the situation vigilantly, ready to intervene if Wang Qiang encountered a hurdle. Moments later, his face lit up with delight.
“That’s the method to forging the secret skill!” Chu Feng exclaimed.
