Chapter 33 - CH 32: Movie Night

"Thanks." Peter smiled widely "You're taking this pretty well though. Don't get me wrong, I didn't think you'd just straight up object to it. But..."
George smiled "You expected me to be overprotective of my little girl, like how all dads normally are."
"Yeah. Yeah, that's it. So, why aren't you?"
"Protectiveness comes from being afraid. Afraid of what you hold dear getting hurt. Everybody experiences it, but it comes extra hard for parents. Fathers can be pretty protective of their daughters, because, hahahaha, they won't want some random guy to hurt their little girl. Their precious princess."
He gently grabbed Gwen's hand on the table, making her smile. He turned to Peter with a smile and confidence in his eyes "But you aren't just a random guy, Peter.
I've known you since you were a kid. Since when you and Gwen would run around in the playgrounds together. And now that you have grown up, I know just what kind of a fine man you've become. I know I can trust you with my little girl, son, that's why I'm not nervous."
"Dad..." Gwen's smile grew warmer, her gaze fonder. Peter turned serious, his smile dropping as he nodded with a dead serious face "I won't break your trust, Uncle George. I promise."
"I know you won't, son." George, his smile growing a bit amused as he raised his eyebrows "And I don't want to ruin the mood by saying what will happen if you do, but you get what I'm trying to say, right?"
Peter chuckled and raised his hands in surrender "Absolutely, sir. But I'm serious. I love Gwen way too much to ever even think of hurting her."
George nodded, relief painted all over his face and eyes "I'm glad to hear that, Peter. Now, let's clean up everything so you two can enjoy your movie night which I'm pretty sure I'm not part of."
Gwen looked at him as he got up and walked towards the kitchen with dirty dishes in hand "Oh, you can watch with us, you know? We've got snacks too."
"Oh, please, Gwen." George looked at her and rolled her eyes "I appreciate the gesture, but no lovers would want to have their romantic time together get ruined by their parents. I was in your shoes one day too, you know? So, just help gather up the dishes, and leave the cleaning to me."
Peter spoke up "What? No, no. No need. I'll do it myself. It will just take a minute or two."
George smiled "No need, Peter. You guys took care of cooking those delicious fried chicken and Mac and cheese, so let me take care of cleaning the dishes at least. Alright?"
"Well..." The two looked at each other before smiling helplessly "Alright, thanks."
After gathering everything for him, the two retired to Gwen's room. Gwen smiled as she closed the door behind her "Well, welcome to my room. I know it's not your first time here, but you know."
"Yeah, I know." Peter chuckled as he sat on the bed "I do tend to swing by to visit you and have our kissing sessions, don't I, hahahaha?"
Gwen chuckled back, blushing a bit "Yeah. Yeah, you do."
"And you love it."
"You know I do."
With a hot, hungry smile, she gently cupped his neck and chin to angle his face. Her eyes were smokey and filled with love and lust as she saw the same emotions in his eyes. She gently pulled him and leaned closer before gently smashing their lips together.
"Mmm..." They kept moaning into each other's lips for a good, hot minute before pulling back. Gwen's chuckle was drunk on love as she stroked his cheek "I always thought that kissing was overrated. Boy, was I wrong."
"Right?" He chuckled back before gently pulling her to sit beside him "But as much as I would love, love to continue eating out your mouth, I feel strangely weird doing it when your dad is home. So, should we start with movie night?"
"Yeah, sure." She chuckled in amusement. After turning on her computer screen, she turned to him "So? Do you have anything in mind to watch?"
"Ehh, let's just pick something casual? Hahahaha wanna just turn off our brains and watch an old cartoon or something?"
"You know what? That is actually a good idea! Ohh, I thought of a good one! How about we watch Up?!"
"Up? That's an interesting choice."
"One of the best cartoons to ever exist, to be honest. What do you think?"
"Completely agree! One of my all time favorites too, actually! Alright, let's do it."
After she picked a choice, and purposefully let Peter enjoy the sight of her heart shaped ass while she was bent over, she adjusted the screen to be seen better and jumped to lay on his side "Alright, let's begin then! Bring the snacks!"
He grabbed the snacks with an amused chuckle and let the night begin. He was telling the truth about Up being one of his all time favorites. In fact, it could be considered his all time favorite. The movie was a rollercoaster of emotions.
But mostly, he liked it because he truly enjoyed it when he wasn't feeling well. He figured he could watch it for a casual watch too. Especially with his girlfriend. But in truth, all the times that he found solace in the old cartoon led to him unconsciously noticing the presence of the feelings he was keeping hidden so much.
All of his sadness. His anxiety. His nervousness. And most of all, his loneliness. Seeing old man Carl's loneliness after his wife's passing and the absence of Russell's parents in his life really hit way too close to home.
...Home that he didn't have anymore.
Gwen barely noticed the way his arms around her tightened whenever an emotional scene would pop up. She figured it was probably because it was just a sad scene, something that affected her as well.
But it didn't stop her from gently holding his hand tighter as well for comfort. She didn't know just how much it helped her lover's current hidden emotional turmoil.
And that's how their night continued. Simply cuddling and eating snacks while watching movie after movie. Sometimes regular movies, sometimes old cartoons.

The next morning, Gwen was all yawns in the morning as they walked in the courtyard of the Midtown High "Last night was hella fun! But geez, am I sleepy now."
Peter smiled "Didn't get enough beauty sleep?"
She smiled in amusement at his teasing "No. No, I didn't. And it's probably because a certain someone just wouldn't let me sleep and would choose another movie every time one movie was finished."
"Oh, please. You're talking as if you didn't love the way I kept you awake with kisses whenever you were about to sleep."
Gwen blushed and chuckled shyly "W-well, there's that too. But still, we really should have slept at least a little bit. *Yawn* Now I'm so beat and it's just the morning."
Her yawn was contagious to Peter as he nodded "*Yawn* Yeah, we should keep movie nights to weekends from now on. Seeing you sleepy is making me sleepy now."
Gwen raised an eyebrow when he looked at her with a mischievous glint in his eyes "Hey, should we skip class and just sleep-"
"Nope. And get those ideas out of your head." She scolded. But even her scolding face was beautiful and just adorable to Peter.
"Superhero or not, school is important. Don't think about skipping it, okay?"
"Okay, okay." He chuckled before pinching her adorable cheek "Whatever you say, princess."
She blushed, but didn't pull away. Making him chuckle even more before letting go. Just as they were nearing the main building, they saw a familiar face standing a bit away from the door.
"Wait, is that... Harry?!" Gwen smiled widely. Harry Osborn was looking around as well. And when he saw the two, his eyes lit up with joy as well before he walked over quickly "Peter! Gwen! Hi!"
Peter's eyes widened at seeing just which version of Harry Osborn he was. Instead of the asshole Spectacular Spider-Man version, he was the Ultimate Spider-Man version of Harry instead.
'Oh, you know, just the bro-est version of Harry Osborn! The best fucking best friend version of him!'
To entertain and surprise himself, Peter hadn't completely checked old Peter's memories with other people. But when he saw Harry, he absorbed all of those memories instantly. And he was more than pleased when he understood just which version of him he was.
The two smiled back "Harry! Hi!"
Peter dabbed him up and hugged him, patting his back as he laughed "Nice to see you, man! Long time no see!"
Harry laughed back "Yeah, it's been a while! What's up?!"
Gwen hugged him when they parted "How have you been, Harry? Hahahaha you sure took your time before coming back to school."
He hissed awkwardly as he pulled back "Yeah, still wasn't mentally ready to come back. I had to when my dad forced me to though hahahaha!"
"I swear. Same old Harry." Gwen rolled her eyes in amusement. Harry playfully punched Peter's chest "Hey, I was missing my best pals though, so I had to show up eventually. What's up? How have you two been while I wasn't around?"
"Oh, my man." Peter circled his hand around Harry's shoulder with a mischievous grin, making him grin too "Do I have tea to spill for you."
-
"You two are dating?! Seriously?!" His eyes widened as he looked at them both. Peter grinned smugly while Gwen pushed her hair behind her ear with a shy smile "We sure are."
"Freaking finally! Geez, I go for a vacation and just see what happens when I'm not around! So when did you finally decide to date?!"
Gwen "Around a week ago. But wait, what do you mean "finally?"
Harry "Oh, please. It was always so obvious that you two liked each other."
Gwen "S-seriously?"
Peter "Yeah, it was honestly so obvious. I don't know how it took so long for us to realize it."
Harry "Yeah, about goddamn time you two got together. Wish I was there to see it happen though. But hey, congratulations! You gotta tell me all about how it happened!"
"Sure, sure." Peter chuckled. Harry suddenly frowned when he saw Flash's gang walking towards them in the hallway "Shit, it's those assholes. They better not ruin our mood."
But to his confusion, they just avoided looking at them awkwardly. And much to his surprise, they jumped like scared cats when Peter grinned smugly and booed at them out of nowhere.
There were question marks all over his face when he saw them awkwardly and fearfully walk away in a hurry. He looked at the laughing Peter in pure shock and confusion "Dude... what the heck just happened?"
Peter grinned while Gwen shook her head helplessly "I told you already, I have a lot of tea to spill for you. You wish you hadn't skipped these past few days, man."
-
Peter swung from building to building with a happy hum. He couldn't help it, swinging with his webs always put him in a good mood. But one could say that he shouldn't be so careless, considering just which part of town he was at.
After all, Hell's Kitchen was home to many crimes in New York. Problem was properly cooked and served in this place all the time. And today, Spider-Man was around to be friendly to the neighborhood.
Either the new problem was just some gangs upping their game. Or some evil organization snooping around. Or maybe... something that involved some... mutants.
