Marvel Ultimate Gacha-Chapter 99: Abyss II
Chapter 99 - Abyss II
Piaro and Blade continued their little conquest until they reached the final part of the Abyss.
On the way, as Blade observed Valentine's powers, he couldn't help but ask, "Why don't you defeat the Guardian and free your kingdom? You're strong enough."
She glanced at him and replied cryptically, "You will find out soon."
As they reached the deepest part, Blade got his answer. He stared at a house encased in a dome, which kept the water out.
"My power weakens by 20% on the surface, and the Guardian is no weakling either," Valentine explained.
Then, as she stepped inside the dome, her fish tail transformed into long, beautiful legs, and a long violet dress draped over her. It was normal transformation when they step outside the water.
"getting back legs now feel weird" Piaro commented, while Blade simply nodded.
As they stood outside the mysterious house within the dome, Blade looked around cautiously.
"It looks like someone lives here," he noted.
"The Guardian lives here," Valentine said as she knocked on the door.
Blade and Piaro exchanged glances before Blade asked, "Aren't we here to kill him?"
Valentine shook her head. "We are, but just give me a moment. And just like me, he also gains back his intelligence during this time," she explained.
Blade nodded but then he asked. "then why he can't just hand over the Trident?"
She nodded. "He can, but he can't be sure that I can reclaim the throne and restore our kingdom. As the Guardian of our people, he has a duty to ensure the Trident never falls into the wrong hands. And right now, I am weak—I can't defeat him."
"I see," Blade muttered, thinking for a moment. "So, if someone defeats him, he can give up the Trident to have it blessed?"
Valentine nodded again.
Just then, the door clicked open, and a handsome man with tanned skin, red hair, and black tattoos all over his body stepped out.
"Come inside," he said with a soft smile. His aura calm, and though his presence was somewhat wrong too.
As he poured tea with a casual elegance, the group remained on guard. But Blade's attention was on the name floating above the man's head—a golden name tag.
Gold.
A golden name meant one thing—this man was a Legend.
"So, this is the group you have found?" Antares asked, his deep voice carrying an air of wisdom and authority.
Valentine nodded respectfully. "Yes, Sir Antares. I know that alone, I cannot defeat you. But with their help, I can defeat you, free you from your duty, and after obtaining the Trident, I will return and also free you from the curse."
Antares shook his head with a weary smile. "I know, but I don't think you can help me anymore."
His words carried a weight of sorrow, and Valentine's expression tensed.
"I have kept the Trident protected, but my body has been deteriorating. The curse placed upon me has only grown stronger. I am already dying, and nothing can save me," he admitted. "Even if you succeed, I will only have three years at most to live—unless I obtain the Goddess's Essence to cleanse the Yatan Essence that is wreaking havoc inside me."
Valentine bit her lip in frustration. "But Sir..." she whispered, her voice laced with grief.
Antares gently placed a hand on her head. "It's okay, my child. You have at least given me hope for another path."
He let out a deep sigh before adding, "At least my tribe's legacy will continue to live on." His gaze shifted to Blade.
"I know you all are here to defeat me in order to help this kingdom, but can I ask for one last request?" Antares asked with a smile as he looked directly at Blade.
[ Sun Tribe Quest ]
Antares was once a young heir of an ancient tribe that lived in the desert and worshiped the Sun God. However, after the Sun God was defeated, most of his divine power was left upon his tribe. The other gods, aiming to claim this power for themselves, launched a raid against the Sun Tribe.
Only Antares survived.
His entire tribe sacrificed themselves so their legacy would not be forgotten. Seeking refuge, Antares turned to their closest allies—the Moon Tribe, a race of mermaids. The Moon Tribe sheltered him, but fate was cruel. The Moon Tribe was later cursed by a great demon. In that moment, Antares didn't fled even if he can and used his own body to protect the last hope of the Moon Tribe.
But now, Antares is dying, and the last remnants of his tribe's sacrifice are fading before his eyes. Before he passes, he wishes to ensure that his legacy will live on.

"This... you want to entrust your legacy to me?" Blade asked, his voice filled with disbelief.
Antares nodded. "You have potential—I can see that. And you are already accompanied by someone who is even greater than the Sun God we once worshipped. There is no one more worthy than you."
Old Granny Soul, who had been observing, let out a small chuckle before nodding approvingly. "He is good."
She then turned to Blade and added, "Go on and defeat him. Prove that the random kid I chose was the best choice after all."
Blade straightened up, determination flashing in his eyes. "It will be my pleasure."
[ You have accepted the quest! ]
Antares smiled as he took a battle stance. "Let's fight seriously. The faster you defeat me, the better it would be."
Antares' presence alone was overwhelming, the air around him shimmering with raw power. His tanned skin glowed faintly with the remnants of divine energy, and his crimson hair flickered as if embers danced within. Blade could feel the weight of history pressing down on him—this was no ordinary battle.
Without hesitation, Antares lunged forward, his fist igniting in golden flames. "Show me your worth, Blade!" he roared.
Blade barely had time to react as the punch came hurtling toward him. He dodged to the side, feeling the heat sear past his cheek. The ground beneath them cracked from the sheer force of the attack. He's fast! Blade thought, gripping his weapon tighter.
Wasting no time, Blade countered with a quick slash, aiming for Antares' side. But the warrior deflected it with his bare hand, the impact sending a shockwave through the air. "Not bad," Antares grinned, his golden eyes gleaming. "But not enough!"
In an instant, he was behind Blade, his palm glowing with divine energy. "Sun God's Judgement!" A beam of pure sunlight erupted from his hand, aimed directly at Blade's back.
Blade spun around, barely raising his weapon in time to block. The force sent him skidding backward, his feet digging into the ground. His arms trembled from the impact, but he steadied himself. "You're strong, but..." he exhaled, his aura beginning to rise. "...so am I!"
