Marvel's master of cosmic magic-Chapter 805
Beyond theft and time, the Error pathway possessed another infuriating ability.
Duplication.
Amon could divide his time-worm essence into countless clones.
Humans.
Birds.
Beasts.
Insects.
Anything could become him. ๐๐ง๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฃ๐ธ๐๐๐.๐๐๐
He could even steal a personโs fate and overwrite them into a new Amon.
In the Fourth Epoch, he had once created an entire "angelic family."
Every member of that family had been nothing more than another version of himself.
Because of this, Amon never needed faith.
His clones were his anchors.
Each had independent awareness.
Memories could be shared.
Or not.
Rowan Mercer picked up the writhing time-worm left behind and tossed it into his personal world.
"You really think abandoning a clone means Iโve lost track of you?"
He could trace Amon through it if he wished.
But there were more urgent matters.
Rowan reappeared near the Eldersโ Tower.
Eighty percent of Silver Cityโs population had already passed through the gateway.
The remaining elders bowed when they saw him.
A being who had slain an Angel King and driven off the True Creator deserved nothing less.
"Great Mr. Strength," Colin Iliad said solemnly.
"Please accept Silver Cityโs greatest sealed artifact. The Earthโs Grace."
He led Rowan to a massive, desiccated tree trunk.
"This is what remains of Queen Omebella after her death."
Earthโs Grace was the reason Silver City had survived for millennia.
It could generate edible plants in any environment and cause massive growth within a fifty-kilometer radius.
But it carried a horrific cost.
Any human who died within that range would rise as a vengeful spirit unless slain by a direct relative.
Those who consumed its crops formed an even deeper connection.
Their corpses would transform into spirits within three hundred kilometers.
Rowan studied the relic.
"Good. You wonโt need it anymore."
He stored it inside his world.
Its laws could be absorbed and refined, strengthening the life-supporting principles of his domain.
Once the elders had all departed, Rowan closed the gateway.
He sat down.
Drank the potion.
Minutes passed.
The transformation completed.
Rowan Mercer advanced.
Sequence Two.
Miracle Worker.
A Miracle Workerโs spirit worms could hide within personal history.
Death was no longer final.
He could return from the fog of time itself.
He also gained limited authority over fate.
Enough to interfere.
Enough to guide.
With sufficient accumulated wishes, he could gather miracle power.
And with enough miracle powerโ
He could rewrite reality.
He rose.
"One more thing."
The final Miracle Attendant characteristic.
Rowan remained in the Forsaken Land.
He spread his perception and invoked a summoning spell.
"Curtain, come."
Far to the east, near the border of the gray fog, a massive black wolf jolted awake.
The curtain beneath its claws vibrated violently.
The wolf forced it down with spiritual pressure.
"Kotar..." the creature muttered.
An Udark Wolf.
A Miracle Worker of the Fool pathway.
Once known as the Wish God of the Dark Epoch.
He had fled into the Forsaken Land to escape Amon and the Seven Gods.
By chance, he had acquired the Curtain containing the Miracle Attendant characteristic.
He had been extracting it.
Slowly.
Painstakingly.
And was halfway finished.
Rowan opened his eyes.
"Found you."
He vanished.
Appeared before the wolf.
"Give me the Curtain," Rowan said flatly.
"Or die."
Kotar roared and lunged.
He never stood a chance.
Moments later, Rowan held the Curtain.
Kotar lay battered and trembling.
"Iโll spare you," Rowan said. "You kept it intact."
The wolf did not argue.
It fled.
Rowan returned to the edge of the gray fog.
The ancient mist rolled endlessly.
Beyond it lay the sealed Western Continent.
And seven hidden Sources of Origin.
Left behind by the Celestial Worthy as insurance.
Rowan smiled faintly.
"When I become the Fool..."
"Iโll come back for whatโs inside."
