In Edison Wen’s sports car, the rising actor was caught off guard when his bodyguard and driver suddenly closed the roof before speeding away.

"Hold on! Are you trying to ruin my ride?! If you go on with speed like this while the roof is still— Ahhh!"

Clang!

Suddenly, a sound of metal hitting at the tail end of the car startled him and his little date.

"What the fuck is that?" He looked over his shoulder to see what was going on, but his bodyguard pulled him back.

"Do not stick your head out like that if you still want to live."

Edison Wen’s jaw dropped to his chest level. "How dare you speak to me like that! I am your boss! You are—"

Bang!

Another sharp clanging sounded, but this time, it hit just inches away from his right shoulder. And he saw it...

"Magic bullet?!" Edison Wen’s voice and eyes trembled. "Someone is attacking us!"

He wildly looked behind them to see where it came from, but to his disbelief, there was no one behind them.

Who was it? Who dared to attack him?

Edison felt his world spin. His heart was beating against his chest.

Little did he know that one shot was the prelude to the barrage of magic bullets that was coming their way. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

"Ahhhh!" Screams from the couple in the backseat echoed.

This is the first time that they brushed against the touch of death. Don’t blame them for being this pathetic.

"Drive faster! Oh shit! I am going to kill both of you if I end up dying here!" Edison Wen screamed, snot and sweat dripping down his lips.

The two bodyguards’ faces turned ugly.

Shit. If only their task were not to keep the guy alive, they wouldn’t hesitate to reverse the car and drive right into the chaos.

Boom!

A loud collision was heard from behind, causing Edison and his little omega to jump in startled surprise. "What is that now?"

"Just someone who will save everyone’s ass," said the driver. He made the car’s engine roar and then sped away to avoid the coming destruction on this part of the road.

While Edison Wen and his people were running away, Yanyan and his parents were ramming into the vans.

Their armored car, coupled with reinforcement magic cast by the celestial fox spirit, turned into an unstoppable rampaging monster on the road.

It doesn’t matter if the van’s body was invisible. Shen Yuan simply charged where his foxfire beasts were with reckless abandon.

It first rammed the tail of the last car, then it squeezed the second one to the side. The armed men in those vans had no choice but to cease shooting their magic bullets and tucked their bodies inside.

The sound of metals clashing and deforming wailed a painful cry, and the world of all the people inside the car shook like an earthquake was rocking their world.

Probably, it was only Shen Yuan, and his family is having a great time now.

"Ahhh! Daddy! You missed the third one!" Yanyan, the professional hype boy of his parents, pointed out. The child was safely seated with his panda. Totally impervious to the shaking of the car. "Your third foxfire beast got away!"

In the passenger seat, Bai Tingfeng looked like he was on the verge of puking. He gave Shen Yuan a silent pleading look.

Please! Don’t tell me you are making our car fly to follow them!

That is pretty much the meaning of that look.

Shen Yuan smirked.

"That’s too bad. But I don’t think we should follow. We are just backups, so it doesn’t make sense for us to handle everything on our own. Let’s leave some for the others." Shen Yuan coolly waved his hand. "In the meantime, let’s pound them into pancakes."

Shen Yuan’s hands and feet danced all over the controls. Their car engine roared, and they hit the two vans once again with speed that left the others no chance to dodge.

"Teach them a lesson, Daddy!" Yanyan screamed while Yangyang, his pet panda, and his alpha father felt like a tossed salad.

Shen Yuan wreaked havoc with their family’s car. They rammed the two vans until their invisibility lifted, revealing half-totalled cars.

"Son of a bitch! Where is the fucker that dared to attack us!" The passengers of those vans angrily burst out of those squished cars.

All of them are awakeners of fairly high levels. Aside from the invisible concussion that left their head buzzing, they are essentially fine.

Shen Yuan stopped the car.

"Guess the fun is over. I am not allowed to run them over," Shen Yuan whispered, to which Bai Tingfeng totally understood.

Shen Yuan was bound by the restriction of killing mortal humans while staying in the mortal realm. Aside from that...

"I can’t be seen by my son going for a hit and run with these flies. That is not an example of responsible driving."

Bai Tingfeng turned to his husband, his mouth gaping.

"So, you think driving a real car like you are driving a bumper car was responsible driving?"

Shen Yuan met his gaze, deadpan. "Oh, come on. Get out of my hair."

Bang! Bang! Bang! Boom!

The pleasant family moment was spoiled by the sounds of a gunshot and an explosion from magic. The enemy has grown impatient.

The couple exchanged a brief look, moving in unspoken agreement. Bai Tingfeng reached for the hidden compartment in the car’s ceiling and drew out a sheathed longsword, while Shen Yuan glanced back at their son

"Yanyan," He called his little boy. "Your Daddy and Papa will step out for a moment to beat the bad guys. Stay here for a moment."

Yanyan pouted. "Daddy! I want to watch. I want to join in the fun. Let me go outside, too!"

"What? No way!" Bai Tingfeng turned the boy down almost immediately. "It is dangerous outside."

Yanyan didn’t stand down. The boy really wanted to be with the family’s action. "But Papa, with both of you here, it doesn’t matter if I am outside or inside the car. I will still be safe."

The couple stopped at that reasoning.

Well, that is true. Both are S-class awakeners who could easily subdue those kidnappers while keeping an eye on Yanyan. Security is not a problem.

However, Bai Tingfeng is still against the idea.

"Yes, you will still be safe, but it is not good for you to get too exposed to too much violence." He reasoned out. He signalled his husband to back him up on this, but to his surprise, Shen Yuan had other ideas.

"Okay. I’ll let you watch," Shen Yuan said softly. He reached into his bag and pulled out several stacks of protective talismans, placing them into his son’s hands.

"But remember this—we only do this to enemies. To bad people who are willing to hurt us first."

Shen Yuan then turned to his husband.

"I know it isn’t right for a child to witness violence," he said calmly, "but I also have a responsibility to teach him that sometimes, hurting others is the only way to protect ourselves."

The celestial fox spirit’s eyes firmly hold out in the stare down with the alpha.

The lesson might have come a little early, but in a world where awakened powers were used both to protect and to harm, it would not hurt to begin hardening his son’s heart.

"I swear I will just stick closely to the car and Yangyang," Yanyan raised his right hand. Then he waved around the stacks of protective talismans in his hand. "And I will make sure to stay inside Daddy’s barrier."

Bai Tingfeng folded under the combined pressure of his husband and son and let out a long sigh.

"Fine. But take note of this—never imitate anything you see us do. Not ever. Especially not when you’re playing with your friends."

Yanyan nodded his head. "Yes! Just the bad guys!"

Bai Tingfeng’s lips twitch. What do you mean, just the bad guys? It can’t be possible that his little boy is already planning to beat criminals like his dad.

"Get ready." Shen Yuan signalled to Bai Tingfeng. The alpha put on his game face.

Shen Yuan then dispelled the invisibility magic that covered their car.

"There it is! Attack!" The armed kidnappers used everything in their arsenal and rained down on the Bai family’s car with overwhelming attacks.

Magic bullets, normal bullets and even awakened powers rushed towards the car.

A bare car, even with all the reinforcements, could never live through that attack. The armed kidnappers are confident.

However, something unthinkable happened. All of their attacks were blocked by a translucent blue dome covering the area around the car!

"No! No! You can’t attack anyone within this area. This is Yanyan’s safe space!" A five-year-old suddenly jumped out of the car. In his hands is a talisman. "You would need to wait for my parents to come to you!"

"What the hell?" The kidnappers are confused by the sudden appearance of the child. What kind of crazy bastard would pick a fight with an armed group while there is a child seated in the back seat?

"S’up bitches," Suddenly a voice sounded above them. "You heard what my child said. We are here for you."

Shen Yuan and Bai Tingfeng then dived straight to the center of the kidnapper’s formation and the bullying of the evil started.
