Chapter 38 -37 – Special Friendship Price of 180,000_1
Seeing the darkening face of Zhou Jiansheng, the man surnamed Li knew he was in a difficult situation and quickly said, “Director Zhou, I wasn’t trying to cause trouble this time. Look at my hand. This Doctor named Mu Lin did this. It’s been over a week, and it’s still not healed. All the doctors have said that my hand is completely ruined.”
Thinking about this, the man clenched his teeth. If it were not for Mu Lin…
“Director Zhou, I think it is time for you to give me an explanation. Hiring such quacks can ruin the reputation of this hospital.” The man began to bite back, eliciting disdainful thoughts from the crowd.
Zhou Jiansheng snorted coldly. Seeing the man’s crippled hand, he silently approved of Mu Lin’s doings. This man needed some teaching. He trusted Mu Lin enough to believe that she could make a move that would be universally approved, but he wouldn’t openly acknowledge it. He laughed lightly, but his eyes remained cold, “Mr. Li, if you make such claims, you’d better have proof. You should know that if your accusations are baseless, we can file a defamation case against you. Even if the Li Family patriarch came personally to plead on your behalf, it would make no difference.”
Ah, he was confident that the Li Family wouldn’t have the face to beg him for mercy. In Zhou Jiansheng’s eyes, the Li Family was nothing special—they only had a bit of money. This Li family kid was just a playboy who hung around the other young masters, nothing more. There was nothing to be afraid of.
Zhou Jiansheng was very assured that Mu Lin wouldn’t have left any evidence. He considered this man’s bad luck as her doing.
Yet, he wondered what his reaction would be if he knew that Mu Lin injured not only one hand but all. It might be surprising at first, but he was sure he would find it satisfying in the end.
Looking at the man in front of him, Mu Lin’s smile was icy cold.
One hand? What an optimistic thought. She wondered, when he could no longer stand up, would he continue to be so arrogant here?
Mu Lin does not plan to disable him right here; she was confident that her poison, if she did not reveal it, would be undiscoverable to anyone except her Master in this world.
You could say that even if Mu Jue were still alive, he might not be able to detoxify all the poisons that Mu Lin could concoct because some of her formulas were truly tricky.
Hearing Zhou Jiansheng’s words, the man knitted his brows tightly.
He indeed lacked evidence, but, “It’s my hand that was ruined here. She threatened me that day. Can’t this be proof?” He wondered if his personal account wasn’t considered evidence.
As expected, this guy was just a brainless man who thought with what was between his legs, although now, he couldn’t even do that.

“I’m pleased to tell you, it can’t be taken as proof.” Mu Lin responded, walking out from behind Zhou Jiansheng. “In life, people inevitably get sick, especially with our dirty modern food. How can you be so sure that your hand was fine before? Didn’t you come to the hospital that day for this hand?”
“Or maybe, your hand had an issue long before, and the treatments you’ve tried haven’t worked, so you’ve come here to blame me.”
“You wanted to fight us last time, and this time, you brought bodyguards to cause trouble. You injured our Little Manni. It seems your Li Family’s young master owes our hospital, and our Little Manni an explanation!”
As these words hit the end, her tone became more ruthless.
She was curious to see if he had the nerve to admit what sort of sickness he came here to cure; or whether he… had the face to say it.
“This is just quibbling!” The man was not as articulate as Mu Lin. Of course, another reason was that he was the one who was in the wrong from the start, not to mention his ‘problem’.
“Quibbling.” Mu Lin sneered, “Why don’t you ask the people around you, do they think the same? I am obviously reasoning with you. Isn’t that right?” Mu Lin smiled at the onlookers who, in unison, nodded without hesitating.
In their eyes, both privately and publicly, they believed Mu Lin hadn’t done anything excessive. Although they disliked some of her rules, they had to acknowledge her medical skills and the lives she had saved through this incident. On the other hand, this man surnamed Li had been causing problems at every turn.
“They came here to see you, of course they would defend you.” Logically, the man knew he was at a significant disadvantage and started mumbling to highlight various issues.
“You claim I’m a quack, these people wouldn’t dare let me treat them. Don’t they value their lives?” Mu Lin folded her arms and asked with a half-smile.
“You…”
“Don’t start ‘you-ing’ and ‘ah-ing’ me. I don’t owe you anything,” Mu Lin briskly walked over to him, making him instinctually shrink back.
“Your bodyguards tried to attack me earlier. I’ve got a good temper, so I’ll overlook that.” She disregarded the doubtful eyes that this statement garnered and continued, “But you also attacked our Little Manni. I can’t let that go. Her once pretty face has been damaged. How is she supposed to get married?” She sounded regretful.
This made it sound like Xiang Manni was horribly disfigured.
“So what do you want?” Someone was completely led by the nose.
“I don’t want much. How about you give us 100,000 or 80,000 as compensation, to console our Little Manni’s wounded spirits and beautiful face.” Before he could respond, Mu Lin continued, “After all, if she’s truly disfigured, she’ll need money for plastic surgery, right?”
“So, the cost of 100,000 or 80,000 is actually quite cheap, a friendship price.”
“So, how do you want to pay? Cash, check, or card? We don’t have a card machine, mind you!”
