Chapter 359: You Can Trust Me, Always, Sister

[RANIA]

"He said it was the only way to show you that he loved you even to the end," Oshita said and Rania slumped on her bed. This was just too much for her to bear.

"He loved me? What a sick joke. He sure did know how to prove it," Rania said angrily as she tried to think.

She could feel like everything was coming to a standstill and she knew that it was just a matter of minutes before her mate and her sister made their way back here. They would question what the hell had happened to her and she didn’t have the time to explain.

So begrudgingly she stood up and looked towards the balcony, like it was a sign that she was doing well. She had managed to get to this point and he couldn’t let her father be the reason she flailed back.

She knew Oshita wouldn’t ever try to hurt her.

She knew that her best friend was always going to be on her side regardless. She was aware that nothing would ever change their bond. But what of everything had taken a pause? Would it make it better?

"You know I would kill him if he harmed you, and you know I wouldn’t have accepted the trade if I wasn’t sure about it. I had to find out what he had meant, and Rani, love, he was truthful. He didn’t lie to you even once.

"Granted, he had a terrible way of going with it, but he told me something else. A solution to one of the greatest puzzles that you have never been able to solve. He said there was a way around it.

"He said that he would help you solve it and then it would help you decide what to do with the truth. Rani," Oshita began and Rania shook her head.

Her parents had been manipulative and uncaring for her whole life. They had fucked her up more than once and they had reveled in it. They had made her a mess and they had never once been apologetic.

Her life had changed and they abandoned her instead of standing by her side. They were the source of her pain and who she had let herself be. They had been there. They had ruined her and nothing would change that right?

"My greatest puzzle? How the fuck would he know what my greatest puzzle is? And why the hell would he be so invested in trying to make it real for me? It’s not like he would ever make it better for me.

"He was never there. He was never on my side. He was always doing what he wanted. So how the fuck would he know what my puzzle was?" Rania asked angrily. She was not going to deal with this.

She wasn’t going to buy into the chaos that she had been pulled into. She was trying to find her way through the transition and while she had been successful, she was worried about how her people would look at her.

A Lycan female was never heard of and yet Kim Rania was the first of that race. She was something else, a creation that many would forever be scared of. What if Incayon was scared of her too?

What if they wanted her gone?

Would they come forward to defend her just in case? Would they try to understand her even if their fates had been apart one too many times?

Would they embrace her or would she have to prepare to say her goodbyes once her vengeance was done?

Oh, but Rania had so many questions.

She had so many worries.

She had been sacred of what the truth would be and as she looked outside and listened to her best friend talk about her father’s gift or whatever the fuck the alpha thought would be possible, Rania wondered what truth there was to this.

She wondered if their worlds would have been any different if her life would have been for the better. But perhaps with Oshita was the actual solution to her puzzle, right?

"Rani, it’s about HER," Oshita said and Rania didn’t hesitate to turn and look at Oshita.

How the fuck was she supposed to believe him? 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

What if this was just another angle her parents were playing with her?

What was the reason that they had gotten to this?

What if her parents had wanted the war in the first place?

Her parents were twisted and they could have easily found a way around it. They could have tried to make things even worse for Rania and know she was supposed to believe that they wanted what was best for her.

In which world was that even possible?

"No way. He doesn’t know shit about her. It was impossible for them. He turned me into the weakling that everyone grew to despise. My parents were the authors of everything I am today.

"I tried to deserve alone even though I had them, and I know that makes me sound like a broken record, but since I’m already broken, then can’t I just be that broken record?" Rania asked defeatedly.

She hated what this was doing to her.

She hated that she had no power over what was right and wrong and she despite the fact that bit by bit she was slowly learning truths so impossible. Truths that could have landed her in so much trouble, worse than the one she was already in when she went against the royals.

She was chaos and yet for the first time in her life, Rania was scared of what the truth was.

"Please, Rani. You know I would never lie to you. Odelia can already feel my mate bond, because that was another condition for me to come back. I had to have something, something that they couldn’t tamper with.

"Rani, he didn’t lie to me. I saw it with my own eyes. The resemblance of their abilities. The fact that they are the same.

"They were so close and yet so far. Rani. her parents they were—" Oshita said but this time, Rania stopped him, she wasn’t ready for that truth.

She wasn’t ready for what the worlds were offering her and while she knew there was reduced to this, thanks to her mother being the moon goddess’s sister, Rania didn’t know any of it.

She couldn’t.

Rania hated what the possibilities were and hells be damned, she wasn’t going to let Dalrae go through the same.

She knew what was waiting for her sister on the other end of the truth they were so worried about and Rani didn’t want that kind of pain for her sister.

"I will believe that you are real. I will take you back in. I will accept you, Oshita. I will never leave you, but only on one condition. That no one, absolutely no one gets to hear whatever truth you have heard.

"Let time do its thing, let the fates decide for themselves, brother. Just don’t be the one to let it out, because I have a feeling it will tear through worlds and make us into worse monsters.

"I am fine with everything, just not my Dalrae. She deserves to be happy."

"Okay, Rani. as long as you are happy, sister," Oshita said defeatedly before pulling Rania into a hug.
