Mated To My Best Friend's Lycan Alpha Brothers-Chapter 453: He Is At Gouldland
(Author’s POV)
"Hello~ ...." Brian answered the call from an unknown number, his voice devoid of any emotion.
"Long time~ .... Vampire Elder," A sultry voice chimed in. "Did you miss me?"
With just a few words, Brian could immediately tell who the caller was. His eyes dilated, then his whole demeanor turned cold as he asked, "How did you even get my number?"
"Ohhhooo~ ... wrong question," she hummed, "Instead, you should ask, why am I calling you? Isn’t it?" her tone playful.
"I don’t have time for your games. If you have nothing to say~ .... I am hanging up," Brian had no intention of entertaining the person, even for a second.
"Always~ ... in a hurry, tskkkk~ .... Apparently, I just saw a doppelganger of Vampire King’s minion here~ ...." She passed on the information.
"What did you say? Who is there?" Brain Tape screamed into his phone at the other party, his eyes a blazing red now.
"Vampire Elder Tape, I said I saw someone who looks just like Jacob Larson’s right hand man," the other person told him, her voice monotone. "Ummmm~ ... what was his name again~ ...."
"You mean, you saw Chris Shadow? There~ .... At Gouldland? What nonsense are you spouting?" Brian interrupted as he started asking questions. His voice sounded baffled. "What would he be doing there?"
"How would I know? I told you what I saw," the one on the phone sounded extremely laidback. "Now you know~ .... okay, then~ ..." She was about to hang up when suddenly Brian’s voice sharpened, perking up, "Hey, WAIT~ ...."
A coy smile played on the woman’s lips. She neither disconnected the call nor did she utter a single word. Brian mumbled, "Keep an eye on that person."
"Why?" she said, her tone flirtatious.
"What do you mean~ ... why?" Brian’s voice was filled with disbelief.
"Why should I~ ...? What would I get, umm? B~RI~AN T~A~P~E~," she whispered, his name playing on her lips intoxicatingly.
Brian scoffed as he combed a hand through his hair in frustration, "I will give you~ ... Five Thousand Dollars."
A mocking laughter echoed from the other side, lasting for a bit, "HahaHAHAa~ ... AHhaahaha, Five Thousand Dollars. Pufffhahahahhaha~ .... They won’t even be enough for my outfit alone. Why are you being so duff, Vampire Elder? Where will you take all that slush fund money you have acquired? You don’t even have anyone who can inherit it."
"Shut up~ .... Don’t you dare cross your station, you fucking fish," Brian, as usual, lost his temper. "I will rip off those scales of yours. Got it."
"So, you don’t need my help any longer. Fine~ ..." she said this and disconnected the call without a moment’s hesitation. Then, she glanced at her phone’s display and muttered, a knowing smile playing on her lips, "Ten~ .... Nine~ .... Eight~ .... Seven~ .... Six~ ... Five~ ... Four~ ... Three~ ... Whoops~ .... ruined my countdown~ .... He must be desperate~ ..."
She waited another two seconds and then picked up, her voice languid, "HE~LLLOWWWW~ ...."
"Name your price," Brian said, sounding much calmer.
"Ummm~ .... good thing you came straight to the point~ ummm~ .... Let me think~ ...." She dragged on, "How about~ ..... fifty thousand~ ... umm~ ... fifty," she said.
"After spending your time in that ruined Gouldland, you have truly gone insane. Haven’t you?" Brian literally barked. "Nerissa~ ... I will give you ten~ ... Just do what you are told."
"Make it twenty five," the one named Nerissa pressed.
"Nine~ ...."
"Okay~ ... Twenty~ ..."
"Eight~ ..."
"Fine~ .... Fifteen~ .... I won’t be going any less," Nerissa mumbled, keeping her foot down.
"Fifteen then~ .... But you will report to me on his movement. I want to know everything, got it," Brian added.
"Send the money first~ ..." she urged.
"I will send half. The other half~ ... after you have completed your task," he said. "Get to work, Nymph." With that, he hung up on her.
Within two minutes, a payment message of seventy five hundred dollars chimed on her phone, "Tskkkk~ .... Cheapstake. How did he even become a vampire Elder with a mindset like this? The people electing must be out of their brains. Anyways~ .... time to earn some money~ ...." Flicking her curly, pinkish purple hair, she catwalked her way into the place where Chris was staying.
Though Gouldland was a ravaged, decrepit land, there were some shady yet decent enough places where people with enough power and money could stay comfortably. The person she had seen earlier, whom she thought was Chris, was staying in this place as well. She just had to play the waiting game and then create a chance encounter with him to lure him. Simple? She was a pro at this sort of thing.
Adjusting the collar of her tight fitting red laced dress, she walked confidently and asked the receptionist, "Mind telling me if there is someone named Chris Shadow stayin’ here fella?"
The receptionist looked at her, he said, "Neri~ ... you are a regular, already know the rules. I can’t give out our customers’ information. Ummhm~ please understand" he shook his head.
Nerissa bent forward as she traced his jawline with her fingertip. Her touch was delicate, almost feather like. "Can’t you do it for me, umm~ ... John," coquettishness was reeking from her tone to her touch, as she batted her long lashes while looking at him. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
The reception guy, his eyes lingered on her magnetic purple eyes, to her glossy pink lips, and finally settled on the cleavage line , which was disappearing between her quite hefty looking mounds. He uttered, his voice strained, "But my boss~ ... he would kill me~ ... or worse, fire me. You know I can’t afford that shit."
"Ohhh darling~ ... don’t you worry. Your boss won’t find out," she brushed her thumb on his lower lip. "As for other things~ .... I always repay the favors. It will be a win-win for you as well as for me."
John’s breath hitched as his Adam’s apple moved up and down. The thing near his pants zipper tightened, ready to burst out any second. In the end, he fell to his urges and gave the information Nerissa wanted.
A blooming, painting worthy smile graced Nerissa’s lips as she mumbled, "Bingo."
