Max Level is 100? I Can Upgrade All skill s to Lv99999!-Chapter 140 --The Legacy of the Chosen One
Frank’s expression was tense, his eyes scanning the members of the Supreme Staff Legion in rapid succession.
"Someone tell me! Who just entered the ruins of the Mana Ore Mine Cave?" he demanded, his voice sharp with urgency.
The members exchanged glances with one another. Several times, mouths opened as if to speak, then closed again. Uncertainty, caution, and perhaps fear of repercussions seemed to hold them back.
At that precise moment, Evelyn stepped forward. Her demeanor was calm, yet carried authority.
"Vice Commander," she said, "please come with me. I have something to report to you."
Evelyn had chosen not to speak openly in front of the other members because the matter involved the Chosen One, and much of what she knew was classified. Ordinary legion members had no clearance to hear such sensitive information.
Frank, aware of Evelyn’s unique position and trustworthiness, nodded and followed closely behind her.
They walked until they reached a secluded area, away from the others, before Frank finally spoke.
"Evelyn, what exactly happened?"
Evelyn’s expression grew serious. Her gaze met Frank’s, steady and unwavering, as she spoke.
"It was Caelan. The recent events were all the doing of Caelan," she said calmly.
She paused, allowing the weight of her words to sink in, before continuing:
"Based on the accounts of the staff members present, Caelan is none other than the legendary Chosen One."
Frank’s eyes widened in shock.
As the vice commander of the Supreme Staff Legion, he was well aware of the secrets surrounding the Chosen One, yet hearing it confirmed so plainly was still startling.
Instinctively, he looked to Evelyn, his mind racing with questions.
"So, your plan was to use the Mana Ore Mine Cave ruins as a test? To gauge the true strength of this suspected Chosen One?" he asked carefully.
Before Evelyn could answer, however, the Supreme Staff—sitting silently nearby—suddenly entered its usual loquacious mode.
"You there, young man! Yes, I’m talking to you, Frank! Don’t act like you didn’t hear me!"
Frank froze in place, running a hand over his nearly half-meter-long white beard in bemusement.
"Wait... I’m already this old, and you still call me a ’young man’?" he muttered under his breath.
But he quickly recovered, remembering the origin and history of this particular staff. The Supreme Staff had endured countless ages, and in its presence, even someone like Frank could reasonably be called a young man.
"Supreme Staff, what guidance do you have for me?" Frank asked respectfully.
The staff let out a gentle cough, then spoke in a stern, commanding tone:
"Step aside! Don’t you know you’re blocking my view?!"
Both Evelyn and Frank exchanged frustrated glances, each thinking: Really? Can we not conduct matters calmly for once?
...
In truth, the Supreme Staff Legion had been planning around the Chosen One for far longer than most people realized.
Several months earlier, on the very day that Caelan had first awakened his class, the Supreme Staff Legion convened a high-level, closed-door meeting at their headquarters.
The participants were the true core leaders of the Legion, even those who had not been seen for years were present. Each of them understood the gravity of the situation.
At the center of the meeting room, a seemingly ordinary staff rested upon a pedestal.
According to the Legion’s records, this staff had its origins in the earliest days of human civilization—or more precisely, in the era when the Supreme Staff Legion itself was founded. It was an artifact intertwined with the very inception of the Legion.
Every person in the room knew the truth: this was not just any staff. This was the Supreme Staff, the namesake of their organization.
Though it appeared plain and somewhat aged, ancient legends spoke of a tremendous secret hidden within the staff. Even after several thousand years, no one had managed to fully unlock its mysteries.
Yet, no one had anticipated what would happen next.
When the young Evelyn made contact with the staff, it awakened—for the first time in millennia.
And, remarkably, it became... talkative.
From that moment on, the Supreme Staff would intermittently reveal fragments of ancient secrets or spout random observations. However, it had one notable characteristic: it only responded to matters it found personally interesting. Any question deemed unworthy was simply ignored unless one struck a deal with it.
Following that fateful meeting, Evelyn had become the legitimate inheritor of the Supreme Staff, second in authority only to the Legion Commander himself.
Through the staff’s occasional monologues, she had learned of a startling truth: in the ancient era, there had also existed a Chosen One. His class was known as [Dark Titan], and his name was Volibel.
Volibel had been extraordinarily powerful, unrivaled across the lands. Yet when ultimate destruction descended upon the world, even he could not save everyone.
Thus, a new cycle began, leading to the world as it existed in the present era.
According to the Supreme Staff, it had lain dormant, patiently waiting for a chance to bypass the previous age. It seemed, now, that it had finally succeeded.
But that was not all. The staff revealed another secret: it had maintained a close relationship with the previous Chosen One, Volibel. Before Volibel’s demise, he had left behind his legacy—a legacy divided into four parts.
The Supreme Staff had retained only one-quarter of this inheritance. Only by gathering all four parts could the [Dark Titan] class manifest once more.
Of course, this time, the reincarnation would be solely of the class itself. Volibel, the individual, had perished completely.
Yet, for the Supreme Staff Legion, the information was enough to ignite a frenzy of anticipation and excitement.
A Chosen One-class from the previous era... manifesting in the present? If it were to appear within the Supreme Staff Legion, it could instantly elevate the organization to the pinnacle of human power.
Other factions, like the Ironclad Legion or the Stonebrawn Legion, would be forced to bow, accepting subordinate status despite their might.
The Legion quickly began mobilizing in preparation.
However, the Supreme Staff disclosed yet another chilling piece of information.
Before Volibel’s era, there had existed a previous Chosen One. His class had been lost to history, but rumors suggested it bore ties to the mysterious [Divine].
The Chosen One preceding Volibel, like Volibel himself, had also left a portion of their legacy behind.
What did this mean?
It meant that the power of the Chosen One, whether in the form of [Divine] or [Dark Titan], persisted across eras, waiting to manifest again. And according to the Supreme Staff, they could very well appear in the present age.
Moreover, in the current era, a Chosen One had already emerged. Based on the Supreme Staff’s assessment, this Chosen One was Caelan.
Thus, in this age, there was the potential for three manifestations of the Chosen One, or at least three concurrent legacies of the Chosen One, all appearing simultaneously.
In that instant, the Supreme Staff Legion Commander felt a pressure unlike anything he had ever experienced before—a weight borne of history, prophecy, and the potential convergence of unparalleled power.
