Maximize Interest, My Money Grows Infinitely-Chapter 43 - The First Lesson of Entering the Profession
Chapter 43: Chapter 43 The First Lesson of Entering the Profession
Chapter 43 -43 The First Lesson of Entering the Profession
Half an hour later, the person Jin Baogen was waiting for arrived.
Fang Yisong, the branch director of Zhongguancun, was also Xia Yubing’s underwriting supervisor, and the “important figure” Chen Cheng wanted to know about.
However, from the moment he entered the reception room, the man in his forties could barely sit still.
“President Li, is there something wrong?” He hunched over, handing out cigarettes to everyone.
Particularly after he saw Xia Yubing and her sister, he figured out what was going on.
Li Zhida didn’t take one, instead he said, “Lao Fang, today it’s Mr.
Jin who’s invited you over.”
Fang Yisong, wiping the perspiration from his forehead, had worked for the bank for many years but this was his first time meeting Jin Baogen.
“Mr.
Jin.”
Jin Baogen gestured with his hand, “Stop fussing, sit.”
“Alright.” Fang Yisong sat down, placing both hands on his knees.
Jin Baogen cleared his throat, “Today I’ve invited President Li, Director Fang, and the two ladies here on behalf of Mr.
Chen.”
Fang Yisong looked towards Chen Cheng, who was sitting beside Jin Baogen, and nodded in greeting.
“It’s simple: Director Xia has a product worth 40 million that’s about to mature.
I plan to take over,” Jin Baogen said nonchalantly.
Fang Yisong took a quick glance at Xia Yubing, only to see her expressionless face, as cold as ice.
“Mr.
Chen will handle this issue,” Jin Baogen turned to Chen Cheng, “Make sure you coordinate the handover with Director Xia.”
“Understood, Mr.
Jin.”
Fang Yisong’s back was soaked in sweat, the powerful aura of Jin Baogen rendered the 23-degree air conditioning ineffective.
“Director Fang.” Jin Baogen continued.
The moment his name was called, Fang Yisong immediately stood up.
Jin Baogen waved his hand, signaling him to sit down, “Xia Yubing and Tong Jialu – they no longer want to underwrite.
Personally, I agree.
What do you think?”
“I will comply with whatever Mr.
Jin arranges!” Fang Yisong nodded repeatedly.
Upon receiving such a response, both sisters’ expressions changed subtly.
Xia Yubing’s brows relaxed slightly, and a smile showed on Tong Jialu’s face.
It seemed that, at that moment, they truly felt relieved.
“Lao Li.” Jin Baogen continued, “There are still positions at the head office, right?
It should be fine for these two ladies to join, shouldn’t it?”
“No problem,” Li Zhida replied succinctly.
This arrangement surprised the sisters once again.
Not only were they escaping their plight, but they were also promised positions at the head office – something they could never have dreamed of.
“Thank you, Mr.
Jin!
Thank you, President Li!” Tong Jialu genuinely stood up, and then added, “Thank you, Director Fang.”
Jin Baogen smiled, “Young lady, you’re quite interesting.”
Seeing this, Xia Yubing also stood up, “Thank you, Mr.
Jin.
Thank you, President Li.”
“After you hand over your products to Mr.
Chen, come and report in,” Li Zhida said.
“Okay.”
Jin Baogen clapped his hands, “That should be about it, Miss Xia, Miss Tong, your issues have been resolved.”
The sisters expressed their gratitude once more.
Jin Baogen told Li Zhida and Fang Yisong, “There’s some food prepared in the dining room, you two go ahead, we’ll join you shortly.”
“Understood, Mr.
Jin.”
Once Li and Fang left, only Jin Baogen, Chen Cheng, and the two sisters remained in the hall.
Jin Baogen lit another cigarette and asked, “How long have you two been doing the underwriting for us?”
“Seven years,” Xia Yubing answered truthfully.
“Three years,” replied Tong Jialu.
Jin Baogen nodded, “Seven years, you two have surely reaped your fair share of benefits from it.”
With that statement, the temperature in the room seemed to drop by ten degrees.
Both individuals bore a look of deep concern, resembling those who had narrowly escaped a calamity only to encounter even greater troubles.
“I don’t object to anyone making money, as long as it doesn’t harm the interests of others,” Jin Baogen continued.
“But, having made a profit, you now wish to simply walk away.
I think there’s no such easy deal in the world, is there?”
Upon hearing this, the two sisters’ faces turned instantly pale.
Xia Yubing bit her lower lip tightly, while Tong Jialu, in a state of panic, clutched Xia Yubing’s hand.
Jin Baogen took a deep drag on his cigarette and slowly exhaled, his voice filled with unmistakable authority:
“Miss Xia, Miss Tong, I have seen your efforts.
Over the years, you have brought substantial profits to Beijing Finance, to me, and to my clients.
I acknowledge that.
But rules must not be broken.
If you want to leave, then you must do so according to the rules.”
“Mr.
Jin, we…” Xia Yubing tried to explain but was cut off by Jin Baogen with a gesture of his hand.
“Here’s the deal, leave behind fifty million, and you’re free to go,” Jin Baogen said nonchalantly.
Fifty million!
To the sisters, this was an astronomical figure.
Though they had earned quite a lot over the years, they had not made this much.
Even if they sold the house at Jinmao Mansion, they probably wouldn’t be able to come up with the full amount.
“The money will allow me to explain things to others,” Jin Baogen continued.
“Otherwise, if everyone eats their fill and leaves, even smashing the bowl on their way out, how can business continue?”
Tong Jialu had already burst into tears out of desperation, barely escaping the wolves only to fall straight into the tiger’s mouth.
“Mr.
Jin, we currently don’t have that much money,” Xia Yubing tried to remain calm, “but we will…”
Jin Baogen waved his hand, “Ladies, there’s another way.
You decide if it’s feasible.”
“Mr.
Jin, please tell us,”
Jin Baogen looked towards Chen Cheng, “If you work for Mr.
Chen, the debt can be waived.”
Chen Cheng’s heart skipped a beat!
The two sisters also looked toward the familiar Chen Cheng.
Xia Yubing continued, “Mr.
Jin, I have already committed to Mr.
Chen…”
“We have also recorded a video for Brother Cheng,” Tong Jialu chimed in.
Jin Baogen shook his head with a smile, “I’ve seen that video.
It lacks sincerity.”
“Mr.
Jin, rest assured…” Tong Jialu wanted to give a reassurance.
Xia Yubing, biting her lip, asked, “Mr.
Jin, what do you want?”
Jin Baogen put out the half-smoked cigarette in the ashtray and stood up, “Record it again, this time with real sincerity.”
He walked to the door, hand resting on the doorknob, “This parlour has no surveillance, you can rest assured.”
Jin Baogen opened the door, “What I’m saying is, the utmost sincerity.”
With that, he walked out.
Click.
The door was closed again.
Inside the room, only Chen Cheng, Xia Yubing, and Tong Jialu remained.
Chen Cheng, staying in his spot, swallowed hard.
Everyone was an adult here, and they were painfully aware of what Jin Baogen meant by the utmost sincerity.
“Cousin, we…” Tong Jialu looked at Xia Yubing with trepidation.
Yet Xia Yubing’s gaze remained fixed on Chen Cheng’s face.
Perhaps at this moment, she understood that having chosen this path initially, there was no turning back.
But she also had her considerations.
Rather than being a minor lackey under Fang Yisong, it was better to follow the Mr.
Chen before her, to gamble for a better future.
Xia Yubing bit her lip fiercely, leaving a deep mark from her white teeth on her red lips.
Half a second later, she stood up, her delicate nails trembling on the zipper of her A-line dress.
“Cousin, you…” Tong Jialu covered her mouth in shock.
But as she saw the hem of the skirt slide down, it seemed she had no other choice either.
Chen Cheng gulped down his saliva, realizing Jin Baogen’s intention.
So this was the first lesson Jin Baogen was imparting to him as he entered the fray.
