Mercenary's War-Chapter 2149 - 2126: The 72-Hour Bet
Gao Yang already had eight needle blades stuck into him, and he was in a lot of pain, while Fatino was enjoying himself.
The good news is that so far, Gao Yang has not lost any bodily functions because Fatino has avoided nerves and tendons with each needle blade, but the bad news is that Fatino will eventually damage his important bodily functions.
Fatino raised a needle blade and smiled at Gao Yang, "Where should we stick this one?"
Gao Yang’s voice was a bit hoarse, the immense pain left him exhausted, and he was too weak to curse.
As Fatino slowly pressed a sharp spike into Gao Yang’s thigh, the door suddenly opened, someone rushed in, gestured to Fatino, then whispered a few words in Fatino’s ear before leaving in a hurry.
Fatino looked at Gao Yang, stared at him for a moment, then shook his head and said loudly, "You’re really lucky."
Gao Yang was very surprised, and then when Fatino slowly pulled each needle blade out of him, the feeling was simply delightful.
Now, even if Gao Yang wasn’t being released, just allowing him a short rest was enough to surprise him.
One after another, he pulled out the needle blades, and soon Gao Yang’s body was covered in blood marks, but Fatino took no measures to stop the bleeding, as the wounds were very small and hadn’t damaged any blood vessels, so the bleeding stopped on its own quickly.
After removing the needle blades, Fatino silently took out a black hood and put it over Gao Yang’s head. Gao Yang originally planned to say something, but to avoid angering Fatino and causing further complications, he chose to remain silent.
Could Mario be planning to release him? This was the only thought in Gao Yang’s mind.
Soon, Gao Yang could hear many footsteps, then felt a pinch in his arm as someone injected him, and shortly after, he was lifted up, his feet still bound, his hands locked behind him, and taken out with two men half-carrying him.
Was he going to be killed? Or released? Gao Yang kept wondering until he heard the loud noise of a helicopter, and only then did he finally understand, they were taking him away.
Gao Yang fought against the overwhelming drowsiness until he was stuffed into the helicopter cabin, and then he finally succumbed to the flood of sleepiness, drifting off into a deep sleep.
No one knows how long he slept before Gao Yang finally woke up, with a pounding headache, and when he instinctively tried to touch his head, he found that his arms were locked to the chair’s armrests.
After trying hard to recall what happened, Gao Yang realized his situation hadn’t improved at all; he was still locked to a chair, unclothed, and facing him was still Fatino. The only change was the room; it was no longer the dark one, but a brightly lit room with tiled walls.
"You’re awake, so let’s continue. You can let yourself rest a bit because the process ahead will be long, and we’ll both be tired." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Smiling as he spoke, Fatino picked up a small syringe and injected it into Gao Yang’s arm.
Gao Yang laughed disdainfully, "What’s this, truth serum? Seems like you have to rely on this stuff."
Fatino finished the injection slowly, gave Gao Yang a slight smile, "No, it’s not truth serum. I never use that stuff."
Sitting back down in front of Gao Yang, Fatino laughed, "I don’t use truth serum. Sometimes it might make people answer questions unconsciously, but it might work for ordinary people. In many cases, the testimony from truth serum isn’t correct because it fragments a person’s consciousness, resulting in disjointed answers that aren’t entirely accurate, or omitting the most crucial parts. Especially with high doses, it damages the brain and can irreversibly turn one into a lunatic. When there’s only one interrogation target, I can’t risk turning you into a worthless madman."
After saying this, Fatino walked back to Gao Yang, smiled, "So I can only adopt a time-consuming but foolproof method."
He inserted a needle into Gao Yang’s arm, with a thin wire trailing behind it, then attached a small disc to the needle, lightly slapped it with his hand and smiled, "There it is."
Gao Yang weakly smiled, disdainfully said to Fatino, "So you’re still at the level where you have to rely on external forces, that’s poor. I know experts who can destroy your mind without any tools, you’ll see, I’ll show you."
Fatino laughed, "Is that so? I look forward to it."
One needle after another, Fatino pierced them into Gao Yang’s skin, on his head, arms, chest, back, at least a dozen needles, then returned to sit opposite Gao Yang, slapped his hand, laughed, "Alright, ready, now we’ll just wait it out. A reminder, don’t close your eyes or you’ll be in trouble."
Gao Yang laughed disdainfully again, though he seemed weak.
"F**k you, you incompetent waste, you plan to get what you want by not letting me sleep? Fatino, you’re really pathetic, let’s make a bet, this won’t work."
Fatino laughed, "Yes, you guessed right, I won’t let you sleep until you break and spill everything. It’s an old trick but very effective, so what I just injected was a sleeping drug, makes you drowsy, but won’t make you lose consciousness. Since you understand, let’s begin."
Gao Yang was pleased, because being forced to stay awake meant he had won himself some time.
Fatino reached out and turned on a lamp, especially bright, then pointed it at Gao Yang.
Gao Yang stopped provoking Fatino because the current interrogation method was what he wanted; it could buy time for rescue, provoking Fatino into adopting another method would be bad.
Fatino crossed his legs, glanced at his watch, then smiled at Gao Yang, "Let’s bet, you won’t last twenty-four hours."
Gao Yang exhaled, laughed, "Bet I’ll last seventy-two hours. After seventy-two hours, well, anywhere doesn’t matter."
Fatino curiously asked, "Why does it not matter after seventy-two hours?"
Gao Yang slowly but firmly replied, "Because by then my people should have arrived. They’ll catch you and repay everything you’ve done to me a hundred times over on you!"
