Merciless Corruptor-Chapter 42: Radical Countermeasures. (Part 2~)
Chapter 42 - 42: Radical Countermeasures. (Part 2~)
The calm and serenity in Dackör's voice is unable to hide the urgency and severity of what is about to happen, which makes the women to not question whatever actions is going to perform the short young man in the near future.
A known whistling sound that turns into a sizzling that makes Dulladnne and Dackör to enter in the cabin, warning Darzzay and Zwïsha about going to the basement immediately.
Aullura and her Manager, Rumina, are flabbergasted by the dreadful expression in Dackör's face, as the short young man is aware of the full picture they are about to tolerate.
The shockwave comes strong, but it is not alone, being followed by a series of impacts coming from different directions.
The concrete in the inmediations is turned into dust, while the wood is broken in some points of pressure due to the resonance within the material.
Part of the cabin collapses with a shattering crash that is enough to make the group to be more preoccupied.
But from all of them, Dackör is the one who has the primordial necessity to go out, as the rain is coming, and the shelter is arguably compromised.
As soon as the shockwaves stop, the short young man runs up the basement stairs, making his way through the wooden debris while being followed by Zwïsha who has the largest and most developed physique of the group.
"Don't come with me Choco Cheeks, stay here, and don't let anyone up no matter what you or they hear".
Dackör doesn't wait for an answer, going out of the half demolished cabin an approaching his Vexaryon V-X-N.
{As expected, the [Revetment] impeded any damage}
Hastily arranging the debris, Dackör opens a part of the aquatic mode of his vehicle, taking out his Venxerian Rifle and locking the Vexaryon V-X-N once more.
Observing the surroundings, the short young man ignores the destroyed state of the Resort, scanning all the people in his visual periphery, checking the Tolerance Threshold that each individual possess in their Statuses.
{This is necessary}
With his mind clear and determined, Dackör holds his Venxerian Rifle, aiming the barrel at the first person that has a Tolerance Threshold below 375.
Absent of hesitation, the short young man pronounce a word "[Shot]"; Pulling the trigger and firing his weapon, sending a milky brown immaterial bullet that blasts apart the head of his target.
Screams of horror are heard in the distance, but most of them are quicky silenced by a new volley of [Shots] fired by Dackör, ending the lives of every person it represents a virtually immediate threat as soon as they get wet with water contaminated by unrefined Xenz.
And this outcome will undoubtedly occur with the incoming rain, besides, there are not many structures that are in a decent condition to shelter large groups of people.
Panic continues to ravage the Resort in the now destroyed valley, causing some intrepid people to try to flee in their vehicles, or use them to run over Dackör.
However, the short young man uses the [Pierce Shot] ammunition, which tears up trucks and cars alike with a single strike, knocking them back as if an artillery cannon had hit them.
The recoil of each shot is brutal, but Dackör's abnormal physical strength is enough for him to maintain his posture along with a constant fire rate, varying between the [Shot] and the [Pierce Shot] depending on what he needsm.
{I should be out of ammo by now, but the Battery counter on the rifle only goes down when I employ [Pierce Shots], most likely the Coefficient Flow really does emit Mitochondrias per second, at least when we have an object to channel the Nuvlierz Energy that constantly emanates from our bodies}
The cloudy sky is getting darker, and the air has that unmistakable scent of a brewing storm, which forces the short young man to accelerate his tempo, firing the Venxerian Rifle for a few tens of seconds before he has to return inside the destroyed cabin.
{Shit!, If this basement survived the shockwaves, other places with this layout could be untouched too, which means more threats I must neutralize before they become something more difficult to deal with}
After going down the stairs, the sound of two birds chirping alerts Dackör, who immediately aims his Venxerian Rifle at the two weakened Nightingales.
"M-My Lord!, What are you doing?!"; Rapidly questions Dulladnne with surprise and incomprehension, stepping to the side while using her body to shield the wounded birds.
"Simple My Knightess, I am ensuring our survival, water is worse than the fog, filling on average 300 points of the Tolerance Threshold upon contact".
"That?!"
"That is a real menace to us, and what do you think will happen to these balls of feathers when they can fly again?".
The chirping sounds return briefly before they are replaced by a complaining voice of an unknown tone "Bring it on!, What are you waiting coward?!, Do it if you dare!, You bastard!, I will tear your eyes out of your sockets and use your skull as my new nest to lay my eggs!".
The already high tension rises a new fold in intensity with the threatening statement.
Dulladnne spins diagonally forward to stand to the right of Dackör, facing whatever produce the voice behind her.
The Frost Nightingale is radiating a brilliance of Nuvlierz Energy, puffing out her feather chest and opening her wings wide to protect the second little bird, who is clearly more injured and tired than the former.
"What?!, Your guts fell down?!, Do it already!, Shot us!"; Demands with defiant voice the Frost Nightingale, which could be threatening or intimidating if her body was larger and she weren't trembling.
After all, she was defeated and suppressed with ease by the Corrupted Squirrel, while Dackör could have grabbed the creature and squash it down with his grasp.
"Did she talk?!"; Aullura and Rumina exclaim at unison with disbelief, making it clear that they did not understand what the birds said, which is appreciated and understand it by the group, since the language the Frost Nightingale used is one that only the Champions of Lyssannia should be aware of...
