MIGHT AS WELL BE OP-Chapter 1031: Samson
Aura Nova floated calmly within the air as she bade farewell to everyone present, Anthony had already run off with Vega for an unknown reason, so her goodbye went to Aaaninja, Lucian, and the rest that were present, although she knew she would be seeing them soon, she did not exactly know when, and that uncertainty lingered quietly within her thoughts as she observed them one final time.
Soon, her cat, Akira, appeared midair from wherever it was, then landed gently on her head. She picked her up calmly and petted and stroked her soft fur with slow and deliberate motions, her touch gentle yet familiar. With that, she vanished from where she stood as she teleported out of the separate plane. Her body reappeared within the vast blue skies and drifting clouds, but at a totally different and familiar location: the Dusk Planet.
Meow!
Akira called out as she stared at Aura Nova with her beady black eyes, her small voice carrying a hint of concern despite her usual indifferent demeanor. She had watched Aura Nova lose all her matches asides one, so she could only try to console her in her own limited way. Aura Nova perfectly understood Akira without needing her to speak and simply shook her head and said nothing else, her silence conveying far more than words ever could.
Although Akira might have seemed as though she cared about only food, to her, Aura Nova came before any type of food in existence, a priority that surpassed even her most basic instincts, a loyalty that had long since been established beyond question.
She closed her eyes for a moment and simply took in a deep breath, allowing the calm air of the Dusk Planet to fill her lungs. Ever since she had left this place, she had moved from one intense battle to another in rapid succession, never once pausing to truly rest or reflect. After a moment, she opened her sky-blue eyes, her gaze shifting downward toward the civilization below, where humans moved from one place to another, living their lives in patterns of routine and purpose.
Unlike the Blue Planet, the Dusk Planet’s dominant race was the Human race. There was no Dragon race, or Vampires, or anything of the sort. Just the usual Demon invasions and the constant need to deal with monsters that threatened the fragile balance of their world.
She stared at everything for a moment, her expression calm and unreadable, then vanished from the sky as though she had never existed at all, her form appearing within the halls of the building where she resided. And it did not even need to be said that her home, as the strongest person on this planet, was literally a wide and massive castle, its presence imposing and undeniable.
The moment she appeared, a blur flickered immediately, a man in a butler uniform and a white towel in hand appeared beside her as though he had always been awaiting her return, his timing flawless and his presence precise.
With a bow, the butler spoke, "It is nice to finally have you back, My Lady," he stated, his tone respectful as ever, his posture flawless.
"It has been a while, Samson," Aura Nova replied with a calm tone and a faint smile. Samson was one of the few people she trusted, as he had been by her side for decades, serving her every need without question or hesitation, although she barely ever needed anything to begin with, his loyalty unbroken through the passage of time.
Samson simply rose from his bowing position as he spoke once more, "It has been a while, Master Akira, I have your favorite snacks available and waiting since your departure," he stated as he gazed at Akira, fully aware of the power the seemingly normal cat possessed beneath her harmless appearance.
Akira stared at Samson, then shook her head. Samson stood stunned, simply shocked that Akira was rejecting food, and her favorite meal at that. But unknown to Samson, Akira had simply tasted a few delicacies outside the Dusk Planet and no longer cared about the foods Samson could prepare, her standards having been elevated far beyond what they once were.
Aura Nova understood this, but did not bother explaining. Instead, she spoke, "Were there any changes since I left?" Her question covering whatever happened within the Dusk Planet in general since she left, her tone casual yet carrying an underlying authority.
"None, My Lady," Samson replied curtly, his response immediate and precise.
Aura Nova nodded and spoke again, "I will be entering an unknown length of closed-door training tomorrow, prepare the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for an indefinite amount of use," she ordered as she began to walk, already putting what she needed in place without hesitation.
Although she could start her training immediately, Aura Nova decided to begin tomorrow. She would spend today simply moving through the Dusk Planet, to understand and watch the people, to see everything one last time before she vanished into isolation, a quiet farewell to the world.
Samson did not ask any questions, he simply took note of her order and would immediately begin preparation once he left her side. "My Lady, your friends, Charles and Bills have been here for quite a few days, waiting for your return since they came back without you," he stated, his voice steady.
Aura Nova nodded, she had already sensed their presence long before now. She did not need to think to know that Charles and Bills would ask various questions, and Aura Nova did not plan on hiding anything from them.
"That is all for now, you may leave, Samson," Aura Nova stated as she walked with Akira in her arms, her steps steady and unhurried.
"As you wish, My Lady." Samson vanished in a blur as though he had been nothing but a phantom to begin with.
Aura Nova walked with calm steps without breaking stride. Soon, she paused as she felt the space beside her ripple, and from it, Rain stepped out with a calm expression, the portal behind him sealing shut as his black eyes met his daughter’s sky-blue ones.
"Planning to throw yourself into training?" he asked, as he could already guess her line of thought without needing further explanation.
"Tomorrow," Aura replied without hiding her plans.
Rain simply nodded his head. "I too will be entering my seclusion, but it will take about two days since I need to put a few things in order before I leave," he stated, having gained immense inspiration from the sparring battles between anomalies.
"About time you got stronger, Old Man," Aura Nova joked with a light smile.
But Rain replied with a smirk, "You do know you are old too, after all, you are over a century years old," his tone playful.
Aura Nova simply laughed as she shook her head. After a moment of laughter, she spoke again, "If you need anything, do not hesitate to come to me, Old Man, do not let your pride overshadow your path," she stated as she walked past him without another word.
Rain stayed silent as he understood the meaning behind Aura Nova’s words. He shook his head with a smile, then walked in the opposite direction, his thoughts lingering on her words.
Aura Nova stepped into another chamber where Bills and Charles Evander were already waiting for the gist of whatever happened in their absence, since their retreat had forced them out of a battle of such a level, one far beyond what they could participate in, their curiosity evident even before she spoke.
