Chapter 1037: Time Waits For No One

Anthony touched his forehead where Vega had kissed him, his sky-blue eyes slowly shifting to the exact position she had occupied just a few moments ago, his mind drifting as a quiet stillness settled over him, one that felt both heavy and strangely empty.

"Friends, huh?" he murmured to himself out loud as he lay there without moving, his voice low, almost absent, as though he was speaking more to his thoughts than to the world around him.

Of course, he had a few friends, he could simply call upon Dale, Reynold, and Seraphim, but he didn’t. Just like Kingsley, he had already swept his presence for them, not just on his Island, but throughout the entire Military Base, which was this whole planet, and they were not here, meaning they were out on a mission somewhere on a different planet, far beyond his immediate reach.

With them gone, Anthony had no friends to visit anymore, meaning he was now alone, here, in a place that suddenly felt far more silent than it should have been. He sighed as he turned to his side, his thoughts shifting once more, he didn’t need to guess to know that upon arrival, everyone would immediately jump into seclusion or training without hesitation.

Aura Nova, Aaaninja, Lucian, Kingsley, Vega, his parents too, they would all vanish to gain further understanding and digest their gains, isolating themselves in pursuit of greater strength, leaving only him, alone in this vast stillness.

Anthony sighed once more, a little heavier this time. Unlike others, he had gained nothing, and this same thing had happened three years ago during the Starborn Tournament, he had gained nothing then too, a recurring pattern that lingered in the back of his mind, quietly gnawing at him.

’I guess this is what happens when you are simply too overpowered,’ Anthony mused to himself, his thoughts drifting toward the novels he had read in his past life, stories where those who had reached the absolute peak eventually ended up feeling utter boredom, detached from everything, as though existence itself had lost its meaning.

This thought filled Anthony’s mind... when he got to the peak, would he be bored too? Would everything begin to feel meaningless? But Romulus didn’t seem like someone who was bored, as for ???, maybe, the guy was practically reincarnating people for his own amusement, treating lives like entertainment, like a live broadcast that never ended.

’We will know when we get there,’ Anthony concluded, not bothering to overthink it any further. Besides, there was no guarantee he would even reach the peak, although he was determined, determination alone didn’t equal certainty, after all, he could die, he could be sealed forever, something unforeseen could happen along the way, something completely outside his expectations.

As he remained lost in thought, Anthony suddenly felt space ripple subtly, his senses immediately reacting as his eyes and body shifted towards the side, and at the point in space he was gazing at, space shattered like fragile glass, cracks spreading outward before giving way, and through it, Kingsley, who had just left over half an hour ago, returned as though he had never left to begin with, his reappearance abrupt yet unsurprising.

"You’re back," Anthony stated as his sky-blue eyes met Kingsley’s golden ones, his tone calm and steady, without any real change in expression.

Kingsley looked around the room with an indifferent gaze, as though searching for something specific, his eyes scanning the space briefly, it was clear he was looking for Vega.

"You done already?" he asked as he couldn’t find her anywhere within the room.

"So if we were having sex, you planned on walking in on us?" Anthony asked.

Kingsley shook his head slightly as he decided to stop entertaining anything related to Anthony’s personal life. "Anyway, I need your help," he stated, getting straight to the point without wasting any time.

"What for?" Anthony asked, a bit surprised, as Kingsley was not someone who usually needed help for anything, making the request somewhat unusual.

Kingsley didn’t hesitate to make his thoughts known, "As you already know, I’m already on the level of the Supreme Monarchs, regular missions won’t work for me anymore, but I don’t know where the Supreme Monarchs are, so I need your help getting to them, so I can get the missions I need," he explained clearly, his intent straightforward.

The moment Kingsley was done speaking, Anthony immediately understood that this was Kingsley’s own form of training. "Why even bother with Military missions? Just explore the Galaxy, there are dangers everywhere, I’m sure by crossing a light-year or two, some unknown people or group would attack you," he stated in a matter-of-fact tone, as though the answer was obvious.

Kingsley shook his head as he spoke, "Why waste time doing all of that when there is something easier right in front of me?" he stated as he shrugged lightly, his reasoning simple and efficient.

"I guess so," Anthony replied with a nod, "Just meet the Warlords, like Warlord Raelith, so just meet up with him," he added, sounding as though he couldn’t be bothered to think too deeply about it.

"Are you helping me or not?" Kingsley simply stated, his tone slightly deeper, clearly tired of the back and forth.

Anthony stared at him for a moment, then sighed as he spoke, "Fine, I will, I will talk to my parents or grandfather," his tone calm and collected, though there was a faint trace of reluctance beneath it.

"So, you are about to begin your own training?" he asked with a flat tone.

"Yeah, time waits for no one, not even Aaaninja," Kingsley replied without hesitation.

"I wonder why you needed to add his name," Anthony laughed as he spoke, clearly amused by the unnecessary inclusion.

"Well, since he is a Time Celestial and all that," Kingsley stated as a rare smile appeared on his lips, subtle but noticeable.

Anthony shook his head as he laughed, the moment light.

"Where did your girl, Vega, vanish to?" he asked, as he had just seen her only a few minutes ago.

Anthony sighed, "Well, as you said, time waits for no one, she had run off to train, so I’m alone here," he replied without hiding anything, his tone casual, though the underlying boredom lingered.

"Damn... she didn’t even wait?" Kingsley asked, surprised, as he himself had planned to start his own training tomorrow, only to find out that Vega had already begun. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

"She didn’t," Anthony spoke as he rose from the bed, shifting into a seated position before standing up fully, his movements slow and unhurried.

"What of you, no training?" Kingsley asked.

"There is nothing to train at this moment," Anthony replied as he stood up from the bed, stretching lazily as though completely unbothered, "I would have gone to meet up with Dale and the rest of the group, but it seems they are on a mission," he added.

With those words, a portal tore open before him, space splitting apart with ease, but before he could walk into it, Kingsley spoke once more, "Where are you headed?" he asked.

"Well... you asked me for something, I’m going to get it done, I’m assuming you too don’t want to waste any more time," Anthony replied as he paused in his steps without turning back towards Kingsley.

"Well... that’s true," Kingsley replied.

"Just sit tight, I will be back, I don’t want to go around looking for you when I’m back," Anthony stated with a flat tone, and without any more interruptions or hesitation, he stepped into the portal, disappearing completely as space closed behind him.
