MIGHT AS WELL BE OP-Chapter 1039: A Trillion
Anthony simply laughed and shook his head. He rose from the couch, "I have to leave, Grandma, I have someone waiting for me, besides, it seems Grandpa doesn’t appreciate my presence," he spoke with a soft tone, his voice carrying a faint trace of amusement.
Irene simply laughed and nodded without asking who was waiting; she simply assumed her grandson was talking about Vega, her expression warm and knowing.
"Greet my granddaughter-in-law for me, and also, when next you are coming to visit, for whatever reason, I expect you to be here with a grandchild, preferably a great-granddaughter," Irene stated as she waved at Anthony, her tone light yet filled with unmistakable intent. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Anthony simply laughed and said nothing. He turned to leave, a portal opening before him, but before he stepped into it, he suddenly paused as he remembered something. He turned towards Irene and waved his hands, a heap of various skill books, countless artifacts, and unknown items pouring out in front of them, forming an overwhelming pile.
Collins and Irene sat stunned and surprised as they stared at the sight before them, momentarily at a loss for words.
"What is this... Anthony?" Collins asked, his gaze fixed on the items with a mixture of confusion and curiosity.
"This is for Grandma, since she needs skill books and artifacts, these are for her; anyone she doesn’t need, you can have, Grandpa," Anthony replied with a calm tone and a slight smile, as though what he had just done was something trivial.
But before Irene and Collins could ask any other questions, Anthony simply stepped into the portal and vanished, as he didn’t want to stand around listening to them ask questions or attempt to reject the gifts.
Since Irene had survived partly due to her skills from skill books and artifacts, Anthony simply decided to give rewards from his daily rewards to them, without bothering to explain anything, his actions as casual as ever.
Irene smiled as she gazed at the closing portal. She shook her head, she was... happy. At their level, skill books were extremely rare; after all, who would willingly want to convert the skill and ability they’ve cultivated and trained all their lives into a skill book for someone else.
But now, before them, was a heap of them. Irene didn’t waste time; she simply rose to her feet and went straight to work, starting to identify each skill book one by one. Collins ignored the skill books and went to the artifacts and items, since he wasn’t a fan of skill books; he could just create his own skills whenever he wanted, making them of little interest to him.
Kingsley, who was still lying and floating in space, sensed the space quake as a portal tore open. After a few seconds, Anthony stepped through it, his presence returning just as suddenly as it had disappeared.
"You came back faster than I thought," Kingsley spoke as he lowered himself to the ground, his feet gently touching the earth.
"You seemed to be in a rush, I couldn’t exactly waste too much time," Anthony replied as he sat on the bed, his tone relaxed.
"So, did you get it?" Kingsley asked as he gazed at Anthony, anticipation evident in his expression.
"Do you even need to ask? Obviously, I did," Anthony replied as he waved his hand, and over forty Supreme Monarch-level missions appeared before him, neatly arranged.
Kingsley was stunned for a moment, not expecting Anthony to get this many, as even a single mission took time to complete, let alone over forty. "So you got all of this at once?" Kingsley asked, clearly surprised.
Anthony sighed as he spoke, "Well, my grandfather seemed in a haste to get rid of me, so he threw a bunch of them at me," he stated with an exasperated tone, though there was a hint of humor beneath it.
Kingsley didn’t speak anymore; he simply waved his hand, and all of the mission scrolls vanished into his space ring. "Thank you," he stated with a grateful tone, sincerity evident in his voice.
"I guess you are leaving already," Anthony stated, glancing at him briefly.
"Need me to stay?" he asked.
"Nope," Anthony replied flatly as he laid on the bed on his back, his gaze drifting upward.
"I guess this is goodbye then," Kingsley stated as he shook his head, a faint smile appearing on his face.
"I guess it is," Anthony replied flatly as he stared at the ceiling, his expression unreadable.
"Goodbye, Anthony," Kingsley stated as he shattered space and walked through it without turning back, disappearing just as abruptly.
With that, Anthony lay on his bed in utter silence; right now, it was just him and the ceiling, the quiet stretching endlessly.
’Friends,’ Anthony thought to himself. ’Maybe I should just teleport towards Dale and the rest,’ he played with the idea for a bit, then decided to drop it, the thought fading as quickly as it came.
Having nothing to do, Anthony took out his phone from the system inventory. He logged into his Money God account. Previous messages from beggars online flooded his phone, and people who had tagged him in various streams and videos also popped up continuously. If Anthony were using a normal phone, it would have caught fire from sheer overheating due to the overwhelming activity.
With that, Anthony began his usual lavish spending online. A single system point was no different from Infinite Blue Planet Quark, so he spent as usual, pouring millions of currency into various apps without hesitation.
Various apps seemed to crash as almost all users came online at the same time the moment they heard the Money God had finally come online after months of absence.
There were rumors that he was finally bankrupt, or that he had died, or that he was finally broke after reckless spending. And of course, some people didn’t believe it; they simply continued tagging their Money God, waiting patiently for him to come online again.
After a few hours of laughing online at various jokes, videos, and conspiracy theories, Anthony finally logged off. Total Quark spent? A trillion across various apps, an amount that would be incomprehensible to most.
Anthony played with his phone by throwing it into the air and catching it while lost in thought. Suddenly, he stilled as an idea struck him, his phone dropping onto the bed with a gentle thud.
Within the Blue Planet, his first group of friends had been from the Omni Peak Academy. Tiara the Vampire, the twin Storm Brothers who were Titans, Bryan the Dragon, wasn’t this the perfect time to visit them and see what they were up to?
It had been five years, but it didn’t matter. He picked up his phone and scrolled through it as he searched for their contacts, as they had all exchanged them at one point in time during their Academy days.
A smile appeared on Anthony’s face as he began to text one of his old friends, anticipation quietly building within him.
