Chapter 552: Purple Lotus
Anthony and Vega sat in the back seat as the car tore through the air with blitzing speed. An AI operated the car while Anthony and Vega simply relaxed, enjoying each other’s company.
Anthony held Vega’s hand in his as they sat close together and engaged in light conversation, their fingers interlocked like two pieces of a puzzle.
"So... where are we going?" Vega asked, tilting her head slightly as her purple eyes looked curiously at him.
"Hmm... I didn’t really plan it," Anthony replied with a soft tone, "but do you have anything or any place in mind?"
Vega, upon hearing that he had made no plans, didn’t complain. Instead, she simply smiled and asked, "How about dinner then?"
"Whatever you say, Vee," Anthony replied with a smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
After two days of back-and-forth texting and subtle flirting, they had grown more comfortable with each other. Anthony now called Vega, ’Vee,’ while Vega, in return, affectionately called him ’Ant.’
"Set course for Blue Planet," Anthony commanded casually.
Beep.
"Affirmative," the AI responded in a crisp mechanical tone.
"Where did you get this car from? I’m not sure I’ve seen this kind of technology on Blue Planet,"
Vega asked with a hint of curiosity. Although cars with AI did exist, and AI itself wasn’t really a big deal, she hadn’t seen any that floated like this or came equipped with spatial travel capabilities.
"It didn’t come from the Blue Planet," Anthony replied with a soft smile. Obviously, it was a car he had purchased from the system when he was heading to Vega’s location.
"Thought as much," Vega replied, not giving it much thought. After all, her father often gave her gifts that came from different planets, just like the rare soap she had used to bribe Veronica into keeping quiet.
Suddenly, the car shot out a beam into a specific point in space. The beam exploded, causing space to ripple and shatter as a portal tore open in front of them. With a powerful sonic boom, the car entered the portal, which then sealed shut behind them like a zipper across reality.
Although it was technically illegal to leave the military base and head to any location without official military clearance, Anthony didn’t think too much about it. He was the son of a Supreme Monarch, after all, and that carried certain privileges.
Beside him, Vega didn’t complain either, seemingly unbothered by the fact that they had just broken a serious military law.
Their car appeared high above the Human Domain within the Blue Planet. It continued tearing forward through the skies towards a particular destination. Anthony had simply told the AI to pick a good restaurant since neither he nor Vega had any specific place in mind.
"Aren’t you bothered you could be charged with treason for leaving the military base? You could be court-martialed, you know," Vega spoke casually from the side, her tone teasing.
"Then I will happily go to jail with you," Anthony replied with a calm and gentle smile.
"You really do have a way with words, Ant," Vega replied with a light chuckle, her amusement clear on her face.
Before long, they arrived at a restaurant that looked as massive as a castle. Its grand structure stretched tall and wide, towering over the surrounding buildings. Just from the exterior alone, one could tell that even the wealthy could go broke trying to eat here.
Anthony’s car hovered smoothly as it floated gently toward the ground before stopping mid-air, just a meter above the surface. Anthony stepped out with calming grace, floating slightly in the air. He moved to Vega’s side and opened the door for her like a perfect gentleman.
He stretched out his hand, and Vega took it with a smile. With gentle support from him, she stepped out from the car. But before her feet could touch the ground, Anthony used Quantum Manipulation to create a staircase of glowing purple lotuses beneath her.
Vega smiled cutely, her long purple hair swaying gently as she descended down the lotus steps like a princess. An A-ranked Valet stepped forward to collect their vehicle. Anthony casually tossed the keys to him as he and Vega headed toward the majestic building.
All around them, the air was saturated with aura, shimmering faintly as people of various mana ranks sat at tables, eating and talking.
Although many of these people could survive for extended periods without food or water, it was still enjoyable to unwind once in a while with a luxurious meal.
As Anthony and Vega walked in, gazes turned toward them like iron to a magnet. They walked with natural grace, their elegance unmistakable. Anthony continued to hold Vega’s hand as they made their way through the grand dining hall.
Within moments, they found a table and settled into it. As they sat down, a heads up display emerged from the surface of the table, projecting a menu with dishes and corresponding prices. Although Anthony was extremely wealthy, he couldn’t help but think about how ridiculously overpriced everything was.
A single bottle of wine costing one top mana crystal? That was borderline absurd. Could the wine grant immortality or a power boost? He wasn’t sure. Still, he placed the order without blinking an eye.
He remembered how, in his previous life, he used to call rich people foolish for spending money on such frivolous things. Now, look at him, doing the exact same thing. Wasn’t this a clear double standard?
Within moments, their food was served with impeccable presentation, and Anthony and Vega began to eat with graceful, noble-like movements.
They laughed and shared stories between bites.
Anthony talked about his childhood, how he grew up with loving parents, how they spoiled him in small ways, and how his life had always been colored by their presence.
Vega, in turn, spoke about her own life. She talked about how people constantly surrounded her, not because they truly knew her, but because of her status, beauty and connection.
"It’s surprising you didn’t turn out like one of those arrogant young masters," Vega teased, sipping her drink.
"I could say the same for you," Anthony replied calmly, flashing her a subtle smile.
Vega smiled but didn’t respond, clearly satisfied with his response. She had only been teasing, after all.
"How about I show you around my house after we’re done here?" Anthony suggested, his tone light.
"Hooo... already planning to introduce me to your parents? Aren’t you moving a bit too fast?" Vega teased again with a playful smirk.
"My parents aren’t around at the moment. I was just planning to show you the place before we head back to the base," Anthony replied coolly.
"I’d love to show you mine too, but I’m sure my father is around," Vega replied with a sigh, rolling her eyes.
"Is there anything wrong with that?" Anthony asked curiously as he took a sip of his wine.
"Nothing really. But if he finds out I have a boyfriend, he might break your legs," Vega said matter-of-factly, as though it were just another casual concern.
Anthony chuckled at the thought and shook his head in amusement.
Time passed, and the moon rose high into the sky, casting its silver glow over everything. After finishing their luxurious meal, Anthony paid, fifty top mana crystals gone without hesitation. Then, both of them stood and made their way outside.
As they approached their car, which the valet had already prepared and parked perfectly, Vega suddenly turned to Anthony with a spark in her eye.
"Want to do something fun?" she asked. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
"Sure, what do you have in mind?" Anthony asked, genuinely curious.
"I’ve always loved shooting arrows since I was a kid. Want to give it a try? I could teach you," Vega offered.
"No need to teach me," Anthony replied confidently with a smile. "I’m an archer myself."
