MIGHT AS WELL BE OP-Chapter 998: Changes
Everyone’s eyes widened in pure shock as they found themselves within the formerly destroyed planet as though it had never been destroyed at all, as though its annihilation had been nothing more than an illusion erased from existence itself. Of course, people like Anthony, Klaus, and Amara couldn’t be moved if they did not wish to be moved, their very existence rooted in a level of stability that transcended external influence and spatial manipulation.
Nobody rushed toward Aaaninja to ask him any sort of question, everyone understood that after a breakthrough, let alone consecutive ones, some time was needed to adjust to the rapid and overwhelming progress in mind, body, soul, ability, skills, and techniques, as each of these aspects had undergone evolution far beyond ordinary comprehension, requiring precise recalibration and silent internal synchronization.
Aaaninja raised his hand, and he felt unimaginable strength brimming within him, as though a single fist attack from him without any form of energy augmentation would shatter the Galaxy itself and reduce its countless stars to nothing more than scattered cosmic dust.
But he was not a fool to believe he was truly that strong, he understood that it was merely the illusion of strength that came with such rapid and overwhelming progress, a deceptive sensation born from the sudden expansion of his existence, and once he had the strength fully under control and harmonized with his being, the illusion would vanish immediately, leaving behind only his true and stabilized power, refined and absolute.
And due to Aaaninja’s ridiculous and almost unnatural talent and control over his body, it did not take him more than a minute to adjust to these rapid and profound changes, his existence adapting with flawless ease as though such overwhelming evolution was something his very being had always been designed to accommodate.
’My thoughts are now extremely fast,’ Aaaninja thought to himself, his thoughts and ability to think were by no means slow before, but now, they seemed incomparably faster, operating on a level that far surpassed his previous cognitive limits, as things that would have taken him a split second to think and decide would now take a far lesser and almost nonexistent amount of time, decisions forming and completing themselves before they could even be consciously recognized.
’Such boundless mana,’ Aaaninja thought to himself, as he focused on his mana core, and he could feel that it was brimming with immense and violent mana waves, vast and endless like an infinite ocean contained within a single point. The mana he possessed prior to this moment did not even seem as though it could account for up to one percent of what he possessed now, the difference so astronomical that it rendered his former self insignificant in comparison.
Such was the difference between the Apexus Mana Rank and any other Mana Rank below it, a transcendence so absolute that it redefined the very foundation of existence itself.
’My Eyes Of Genesis seem to have evolved,’ Aaaninja thought to himself as his hand rose to touch his eyes, feeling the faint and indescribable sensation that lingered within them. Aaaninja knew that his Eyes Of Genesis had already undergone a few changes when he was unconscious, he had noticed it the moment he woke up, and now, due to the evolution of Existence granted by the Heavens when one reached the Apexus Mana Rank, his Eyes Of Genesis had evolved once again, reaching a level of perception that surpassed its former limitations.
Of course, not to an absurdly ridiculous degree like the changes in his mana and body, but it did not matter, any form of positive change in the Eyes Of Genesis would bring immense and invaluable benefit, no matter how small or minute it might seem on the surface.
Normally, even in a passive state, the Eyes Of Genesis allowed Aaaninja to see everyone move slightly slower, as his perception of time was fundamentally different from everyone else’s, allowing him to observe and process reality with superior clarity. But now, things did not merely seem slower, they seemed so slow to the point that it appeared as though they were standing still entirely, frozen within the endless flow of time.
The movement of light seemed slower, the movement of mana seemed slower, even the particles that formed matter itself seemed to halt, their motion reduced to something almost nonexistent beneath his gaze.
’I will have to go through every ability the Eyes Of Genesis grants me and see just how much they have all improved,’ he thought to himself, then his eyes shifted toward Altheria, but the moment his eyes met hers, everything within Aaaninja’s vision seemed to warp and distort under the authority of his perception.
His left Eye Of Genesis passively began showing him her past as though it were a movie unfolding before him, every moment flowing with perfect clarity without even costing a mote or iota of mana. His right Eye Of Genesis began to show her future as well, but unlike the fragmented and incomplete visions the Eyes Of Genesis usually showed, this particular future was anything but fragmented, it flowed continuously and completely.
Aaaninja watched the two flows of events, both flowing simultaneously, and he understood both of them simultaneously, while his mind was also completely present within the current moment. His mind, thoughts, and perception were able to stare at the past, present, and future all at the same time at absolutely zero cost, without confusion or contradiction.
Aaaninja shifted his gaze toward Anthony, and the passive ability immediately began to activate, but before Aaaninja could see anything meaningful, Anthony’s past and future vanished from his perception entirely. Aaaninja arched an eyebrow slightly, but at the same time, he shook his head in understanding that Anthony must have done something to block it.
And indeed, Anthony had, the moment Aaaninja set his gaze upon him, the system notified him, and Anthony used his Authority Of Information; the Perfect One, to simply block the information completely and absolutely.
Aaaninja’s gaze shifted toward Amara and Klaus, but unlike Anthony, where he was about to see something before he was blocked, this time, he saw nothing at all from the very beginning, as though their existence itself rejected his observation entirely. His gaze then shifted toward Lucian Darkheart, and the system shielded him instantly without hesitation, preventing any form of intrusion.
Aaaninja came to a conclusion; just because this passive ability was powerful did not mean other people did not have their own methods and ways capable of blocking it. But at the same time, Aaaninja understood that he could make this passive ability stronger by pouring mana into it, thereby increasing its power and potentially bypassing these defenses.
But whether he could bypass Anthony’s, Lucian’s, Amara’s, and Klaus’ defenses was still something he would have to test at a later time, when the opportunity presented itself under the proper conditions.
Aaaninja understood that his breakthrough had not happened without reason, he knew it was because the River Of Time had flooded his body with mana earlier, forcing his existence to ascend the mana rank with overwhelming ease.
’I’m still yet to go through the memories of the things I received after obtaining that knowledge from the River Of Time,’ Aaaninja thought to himself, as he had received an all-round improvement, without any aspect of his existence being left behind or underdeveloped, every part of him refined to a new level of completeness.
A faint smile appeared on his lips, training and progressing seemed addictive, there was a feeling that came with it that made even the laziest person on any planet feel compelled to pursue growth, to reach beyond their limits, and to grasp the boundless possibilities that lay beyond their current existence.
