Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva-Chapter 391 - 132 So-called Friends
The next day, with Ruby’s help, Tilan met Huna.
From her appearance, she seemed to be of mixed heritage; her hair was dark, but she had deep-set eyes, and the underside of her hair was dyed red, giving off a rebellious vibe. Her narrow, elongated eyeshadow stretched upwards at the corners, exuding aggressiveness and impact.
"You’re Tilan, right? I’ve heard of you, the girl who’s often with Deloris." She stood with her arms crossed, her gaze slightly provocative as she sized up the black-haired girl.
The place where the three of them were currently standing was a rose garden within the Academy, filled with roses of various colors, predominantly black and blue.
"You’ve sought me out for some reason? I sense it’s not going to be anything good." She frowned slightly, and even though the girl in front of her didn’t seem hostile, Huna didn’t like her, because their dispositions were simply not aligned.
Some people are just like that, their radiance inflicting pain on those who stand in darkness and shadows. Perhaps it’s envy, jealousy, or disdain that naturally arises from within because someone else’s presence highlights their own failures, stealing the attention and focus that should belong to them.
She didn’t like people like Tilan, these goody two-shoes, top students, innocent yet hypocritical. And despite the popular opinion that these girls were more liked, that only made her despise and resent them even more.
"Uh, although this is our first meeting, I don’t think we have any grudges between us, right?" the girl began.
"We didn’t before, but we probably do now. My intuition is very accurate," Huna said, turning her face away.

It seemed that hoping for a pleasant persuasion was wishful thinking, the girl thought.
"Actually, I came to persuade Huna to leave the Indigo Cornflower Club, which she belongs to now," Tilan got straight to the point, stating her purpose for this encounter.
"Oh, that’s quite bold of you. Are you trying to make me angry?" Huna’s brows furrowed, and Ruby, standing beside them, glanced at the two without speaking. She believed Tilan had a way to convince Huna.
"No, it’s not like that. I just want to say that staying in this club isn’t a good choice anymore."
"You have no business meddling in my affairs."
"The Academy will not interfere with the students’ freedom of activities on campus, but the activities of the Indigo Cornflower Club have begun to significantly affect the reputation of the Academy and the futures of other students. It’s no longer just your own affair."
"Everyone should be responsible for their own words and actions. Thanks to the protection of the Academy, we can disregard outside pressures, but many students will graduate soon and face all sorts of challenges in society. If the Academy’s reputation is poor, that will certainly make life difficult for them," the girl said cautiously, though she didn’t think it likely to make a difference.
"What do I care about their futures? If they work hard enough to get into prestigious universities, who cares where you went to high school?" Huna clearly wasn’t buying it.
After saying that, she turned to leave, and as she walked away, Tilan did not stop her, which surprised Ruby.
"Aren’t you going to stop her?"
"No need, let her go," the girl sighed. She hadn’t expected the negotiations to fail so badly; from the beginning, Huna had been very hostile and resistant, causing her to swallow back the words she had prepared.
The power of words is weak. If mere talk could change everything, then wars and various forms of violence would not occur.
Should she threaten Huna? She certainly could, whether by leveraging the Academy’s power or the connections of Lady Isabella in the music and entertainment industries.
However, unless absolutely necessary, she didn’t want to do that, simply because she detested such actions.
"I’ll go see Peikexi instead, hoping this time will be easier."
In the evening, Tilan and Peikexi sat in a restaurant at the Academy, basked in warm lighting.
Peikexi had golden long hair that was a bit more chestnut and soft compared to Efnie’s. Today, this young lady wore a light blue and white dress, and she seemed much more gentle and polite than Huna.
"I roughly understand why you are here, Tilan. I can agree to withdraw from the club," the other party gave the girl a surprise right from the start.
"However, I hope that afterwards, you could lend a hand to Serasilence, giving her a chance to make amends for her wrongdoings," she said gently slicing the cake with her knife and fork, then extending a piece to Tilan.
"Why would you say that?" the girl asked, puzzled.
"You may not know yet, but you are likely to take over Amors’s position," the girl did not deny this point.
"I know that you’ve been essentially selected as the next student council president. Not only that, several top first-year students gather around you, and the teachers’ assessment of you is very high," she said slowly.
"If nothing unexpected happens, over the next few years, you’ll gradually become the leader among students, everyone will gather around you, while Serasilence will be ostracized and despised because of this incident. Moreover, once she graduates and loses the protection of the Academy, it’ll be difficult for her to fit into her peer groups and she is likely to have a tough life."
"This isn’t malicious speculation, but there are many precedents, especially for someone like Serasilence who has offended many during her time at the Academy, and her family background isn’t strong enough to fully protect her," she added.
"If you knew this all along, Peikexi, why didn’t you stop her?" Tilan inquired.
"I advised her, but as you understand, even as friends, we cannot be too direct or excessive. I couldn’t hold her back, it’s just her character," she explained. Read exclusive chapters at novelbuddy
"Coming from a less than top-tier family background and with her father’s company in decline, she is far more eager than the average student to seek attention and hopes to establish a club to network and prepare for future alumni unity upon graduation."
"It’s surprising, isn’t it? Although she seems arrogant and domineering, she’s actually very anxious and particularly cares about her pride. She doesn’t allow anyone to challenge her and always seeks to maintain an advantageous position," Peikexi revealed what she had always known.
"Sometimes people are strange like that. If I hadn’t seen her true nature, I probably would have disliked such a person, but precisely because I understand the anxiety and weakness deep inside her, I can especially tolerate her flaws," Peikexi slowly finished her cake, then placed her knife and fork down, and looked towards the girl opposite her.
"Originally, I thought about persuading her to change her style or take her on a trip to relax and avoid the public eye, but since Tilan approached me, I’ll just let things take their natural course."
Peikexi, she’s really... The girl struggled for a moment to describe the girl in front of her. While appearing gentle, she seemed particularly rational, lacking a competitive or confrontational spirit, as if everything would be alright if left to unfold naturally, with only slight guidance needed.
If she herself didn’t have the expectations and responsibilities given to her by the Academy, perhaps her approach might be similar to Peikexi’s.
Shaking her head slightly, regaining her clarity, Tilan also agreed with the other party.
"If Serasilence genuinely acknowledges her mistakes and turns over a new leaf, I can give her the chance to redeem herself, and I won’t let others bully her easily."
Seeing Tilan’s response, Peikexi then stood up slowly, bowed in thanks, "Thank you, Tilan. Please give me three days, I will speak to Serasilence."
"Regarding the public apology, I will accompany her. That way, she might feel a bit better. As for Huna, I hope you won’t mind her words. She has many difficulties too. After her mother’s divorce, she was raised by a single parent who has great expectations for her and puts a lot of pressure on her, often rushing and directing her. It’s only when she can let loose in the club that she feels relaxed, so she’s quite opposed to the suggestion of disbanding the club," she added.
Having said all this, she then waved goodbye and departed in the Hover Car that came to pick her up.
Although Serasilence behaved inappropriately, having a friend like Peikexi is truly something to be envied.
