Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva-Chapter 458 - 172 Your voice_2
From a distance, the two could hear the exhilarating bass sound coming from the end of the corridor, along with the accompanying instruments and the audience’s shouts.
"So it’s the ’Hammer Band,’" Audrey recognized who was inside as soon as she saw the sign at the end of the floor.
"Are they famous?" Tilan felt she hadn’t heard of them.
"Yeah, they’re pretty well-known among the older generation in the Flying Feather Star Domain. My dad really likes their songs. The band members are all around fifty on average, and they don’t perform much anymore. It’s unexpected they’ve reunited today; I bet the audience down there is overjoyed," Audrey explained.
"Let’s go have a look," Audrey said as she took Tilan’s hand and walked towards the hall at the end of the corridor.
The lighting inside was dim, with colored lights spinning, but the air wasn’t stuffy, and the crowd had not reached a crushing density—most likely they were just there spontaneously.
On stage, the lead singer wasn’t tall. He wore slippers and beach shorts, one foot resting on a speaker, bathed in the strong wind from the stage’s fan.
The fierce airflow made his voice somewhat distorted. A red scarf around his neck fluttered, a lengthy silk scarf twirling in the air, and his wrinkled forehead contracted with each movement of his chest and mouth, as if every lyric was shouted from deep within, carrying an inexplicable tension.
Elsewhere on stage, other band members were dressed variously—some in suits, others in casual attire, and one even wore an apron, appearing as though they’d just finished work or rushed over from home. The audience didn’t mind; in fact, they found it nostalgic and endearing, joining in to sing parts of the lyrics, especially during rhythmic sections, stomping their feet to the beat, shaking the floor.
"The ’Hammer Band’s’ name itself suggests the act of stomping one’s feet. Their songs mostly have a strong rhythm," Audrey explained to Tilan as they entered the hall, increasingly feeling the performance’s spirit of indomitable resilience—the spirit of singing out loud despite aging, which touched many in the audience.
Due to the dim lighting in the venue, with the audience’s attention fixed on stage, no one noticed the two songstresses’ entrance.
Shadows moved, sweat soaked through backs and chests, the guitar continued to turn, and the perfect accompanying keyboard chords, with the rotating high-pitched voice, seemed to transport everyone back to that distant and wild era—a time of youth and unrestraint.
Even without the songstresses’ Talent, these musicians still moved the audience with their passion, a cry and pulse from life that made people jump along.
As time passed and the performance drew to a close, the audience gradually realized that an hour had passed.
Perhaps because they were fully gratified, or maybe because their physical strength could no longer keep up, the band members announced the end of today’s show. Then they jumped off the stage to high-five the audience, picked up chilled beverages to replenish their energy, and rested on the couches.
The audience and colleagues, accustomed to such familiar, lifelike gestures, responded with laughs. Some sat beside them to chat and reminisce, discussing both the past and present.
The stage was left empty, and in the interim, others took to the stage. This was Agleya District, and many musicians were in the audience, professionals of no small prowess.
A relaxed and cheerful atmosphere enveloped the hall—people came after work, and others left for home after their fun.
In the comings and goings, the two girls sitting in the corner finally drew attention.
"Audrey, you’re here too today," said a woman wearing sunglasses.
Upon seeing Audrey, she took off her sunglasses and approached, with a graceful figure, appearing to be in her 30s to 40s but well-maintained.

"Aunt Juliana," Audrey stood up to greet her. This woman was an acquaintance of her mother’s and a fairly well-known agent in the Flying Feather Star Domain.
"Oh, who is this?" she said with surprise upon approaching and seeing the black-haired girl beside her.
"Hi, I’m Hexia, a friend of Audrey," the girl introduced herself proactively.
"I see…" She looked from Audrey to Hexia. Discover hidden stories at novelbuddy
"Audrey, you’ve never mentioned this friend of yours before. Such a lovely girl, and you didn’t tell me," she said teasingly, then walked up to them.
"Would you like something to drink? It’s on me. It’s been a while since Audrey and I caught up. How have things been recently?" Her business kept her busy, and she didn’t often return to this place.
"I’ve been preparing an album recently. It includes quite a few songs I’m really happy with," Audrey shared her recent activities.
Afterward, they talked about other things in life. During the conversation, Juliana occasionally asked Hexia about simple matters, ensuring the girl didn’t feel left out.
"Speaking of which, Hexia, you’re a very talented girl. Have you considered pursuing a career in the music or entertainment industry?" Experienced hunters often don’t show their claws immediately, and this woman was no exception—it was only now she asked the most crucial question.
"Not for the moment because I’m still busy with school," the girl shook her head slightly.
"Actually, it doesn’t take up that much time. You just need to participate in some activities on weekends," Juliana spoke from experience.
