As Loren approached the village, he smelled the thick, pungent scent of blood. The horror inside the village was easy to imagine.

Cultists of Evil Gods would at least put on an act, but these demons genuinely did not see humans as people. They didn't even bother pretending about their cruelty.

"Let's deal with this quickly and hurry home."

To be frank, this kind of thing was quite common. These demons had the backing of the God of Pain, and when they tortured and killed, the God of Pain also benefited. Moreover, they were very good at picking their targets, usually striking remote places that the Orthodox Gods' Church couldn't be bothered to care about.

It had to be said, they were clever.

Two corpses, gutted and disemboweled, hung at the village entrance. There was no real point to doing this; it was simply their nature.

So, when dealing with this kind of pure evil, Loren had no reservations. No need for pointless talk, just kill them and be done with it.

"Traveler from afar, welcome to our village. We are very pleased to meet you."

As soon as Loren got close to the village, a demon came out to greet him. He was wearing a human skin as clothing, and the horns on his head had pierced through the scalp.

He probably didn't think this could fool anyone, but it was certainly meant to frighten people.

"You're pleased too early."

Loren casually swung his blade and cut off the demon's head. The strength of demons wasn't particularly great; the gap between their lower and upper limits was vast, but very few ever reached that upper limit. Their overall power was even inferior to that of the Merfolk.

The death of the gatekeeping demon attracted the attention of the others, and a group of demons immediately swarmed over.

They all held torture instruments in their hands. As followers of the God of Pain, they loved tormenting their prey so much that they had even replaced their weapons with torture tools.

Loren stood at the village entrance. Before him was a crowd of demons, behind him were the Witches. The two sides faced off in a standoff.

The atmosphere was eerily quiet. The only sound in Loren's ears was the screams coming from within the village.

"Who are you, sir?"

Bullying the weak and fearing the strong was the nature of demons. After Loren instantly killed the gatekeeping demon, they took him completely seriously. So much so that many demons were already planning to slip away quietly; they weren't that united internally either.

"Demons don't understand human speech. Kill them all."

Loren dug at his ear, too lazy to waste words on them.

Following the normal script, he should now exchange a few words with them, listen to their nonsense, then enter the village, witness the villagers' tragic state, ignite his fury, and begin the battle with the demons. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

But Loren had seen this kind of scene many times before. Rather than watching a cutscene that would only upset him, it was better to skip the plot directly and get to the satisfying combat.

"Yes..."

Upon receiving the order, Anna instantly charged forward, swinging her scythe. Three demons were instantly cut in half at the waist.

"Ah!"

These demons let out cries of pain, heart-wrenching screams that instinctively made one want to sympathize with them.

This was also a trick commonly used by demons: feigning weakness to evoke sympathy, then stabbing you in the back. Those who had ever trusted a demon met no good end.

It was true that there were good people among demons. Killing them all might mean accidentally killing a good one, but if you killed a thousand and let one go, you'd definitely let a bad one slip through the net.

"Demons don't feel pain. They're pretending."

Loren promptly fired his gun, killing those screaming demons. His experience bar rose a noticeable chunk.

This group of demons was encountering someone like Loren for the first time. They hadn't even had a chance to use words to beguile him yet.

"Understood."

Anna acknowledged and swung her scythe down again. This time, she horizontally split their skulls open, giving these demons no chance to scream.

Many demons who wanted to fight back were instantly killed by Anna before they could even act. Anna's strength had always been formidable; she was just protected too well by Loren and hadn't had many chances to show it.

Amidst the slaughter, Anna smiled. She was extremely satisfied with this trip. First, she massacred a village of Cultists of Evil Gods, then fought desperately with an Angel, and now she could slaughter demons.

Killing brought Anna more joy than fine food.

"Wait, there must be some misunderstanding behind this..."

If Loren instantly killing one demon earlier made them wary, Anna's massacre directly made them feel terror. They usually didn't have it this easy even when facing ordinary people.

Loren drew his blade and stepped towards them step by step. The demon at the front completely panicked and began to explain:

"When we arrived, we found this village under attack by unknown creatures. We came to protect this place..."

He soon lost his chance to explain further as Loren's blade cut off his head.

"Now, does anyone else have something to say?"

Now these demons completely understood. Loren didn't see them as intelligent beings he could communicate with at all. He couldn't even be bothered to care about what they had done; he had simply come to slaughter them, just like they had slaughtered those villagers.

With their path forward blocked by Loren, and Anna having already killed her way to their rear, the two of them had surrounded nearly a hundred demons. The others behind Loren showed no intention of joining the fight.

Seeing that beguilement was useless, one demon decided to start making threats:

"Our coming here was on the orders of a Demon Lord! If you kill us, the Lord will not let you go... And we are also followers of the God of Pain! Our status in the Church is much higher than those two-legged sheep!"

Hearing this, Loren stopped in his tracks. That demon thought his threat had worked. Just as he was about to continue threatening, he heard the conversation between Loren and Anna.

"Anna, did you hear what they said?"

"I heard."

Anna walked towards Loren. Seeing her approach, the demons hurriedly made way for her, revealing the corpses littering the ground behind them.

In the time Loren had been talking to them, half the demons had been easily killed by Anna.

The overwhelming difference in combat power meant Anna didn't even get a chance to see their moves.

"Do you remember what I taught you before?"

"I remember. It's about human relationships and worldly affairs..."

Anna's reply made the group of demons sigh in relief, but immediately afterward, their hearts sank to the abyss:

"Either don't do it at all, or do it thoroughly. If you offend someone, then kill their entire family!"

"Madman!"

A demon cursed, then turned and tried to flee. Loren's bullet accurately pierced through the back of his skull.

The physical strength of demons was considerably higher than that of humans. Ordinary bullets had limited effect on them, but Loren's bullets were enchanted.

Anna charged into the demon crowd, carving a bloody path and blocking their retreat. Anna and Loren, one in front and one behind, slowly slaughtered them all.

"Please, spare me! I'll do anything!"

As Loren cleaved a demon in two with one slash, a succubus suddenly knelt before Loren.

She had been hiding among the demons earlier, so Loren hadn't seen her. Only now, with the killing almost done, did she reveal herself.

The succubus's looks were indeed quite good. She was also well aware of her own advantages and began desperately displaying her charms to Loren. Usually, it was others who were bewitched by her, willingly offering her everything. This was the first time she had ever humbly knelt before someone else.

"As long as you spare me, I can be your slave. This is a contract. Sign it, and you will be my master. Everything I have belongs..."

The succubus's head flew into the air, a fawning expression still frozen on her face.

"If there was a kind and pure succubus, I might have taken a look. Preferably the type whose heart belongs only to me, the one who blushes just seeing me. You? Forget it."
