MMORPG: I was BUGGED-Chapter 265: The Wormgod
Day 4 dawned in the virtual realm, and the Castle of Doom loomed ominously on the horizon.
The guild members, fueled by Ragnarok Reaper’s rallying words the night before, gathered once more in their designated formations.
The tension from the previous days persisted, but a renewed determination sparked in their eyes.
As the clock struck zero, signaling the commencement of the fourth day’s battle, the guild leaders swiftly implemented the strategy and formation.
The players anticipated the arrival of the enemy, their attention undivided. Suddenly, the horizon darkened, and an ominous stillness settled over the air, carrying with it a putrid scent of decay.
Every breath was held as, in the far reaches of the virtual landscape, an entity materialized.
As it drew closer, collective gasps echoed through the assembled players, taken aback by its gigantic size and repulsive appearance.
The image depicted in the night before paled in comparison to the horrifying reality that now loomed before them.
The Worm that Walks, or known as the Wormgod, a colossal apparition, loomed over the landscape, dwarfing houses beneath its towering presence.
Its immense form was shrouded in tattered robes and decaying bandages, concealing the grotesque amalgamation that comprised its body.
Only its malevolent red eyes glowed ominously from within the depths of its hood, piercing through the darkness with an otherworldly intensity.
The creature’s arms were a writhing mass of thousands of worms, entwined and pulsating with an unsettling vitality. Each limb seemed to move with a purpose, as if controlled by a malevolent consciousness. One arm held an enormous scepter and the other wiggled like they would come off its shoulder.
The very sight of these limb-like appendages made some onlookers feel a surge of revulsion, prompting a few women to teeter on the brink of fainting, unable to bear the grotesque spectacle.
Beneath the shroud of its massive form, the Wormgod’s legs resembled giant cephalopods made entirely of intertwining worms, each with teeth that gnashed and wriggled in a grotesque display of macabre animation.
The sheer repulsiveness of this nightmarish entity was enough to induce a wave of nausea, causing some unfortunate witnesses to involuntarily vomit in response to the abomination before them.
As the Wormgod cast its eerie gaze upon the horrified players, the air itself seemed to thicken with an oppressive malevolence.
The vile deity desires nothing but to walk the world of the living so that its rotting touch may reduce it to ruinous decay.
ǁ The Worm that Walks ǁ
The Worm that Walks exists far from the planes of life and prosperity it seeks to destroy. In a small realm accessible only by the gods of unlife, the Worm that Walks toils endlessly, deserving neither lair nor respite.
Its only charge is to unmake the physical remains of those who do not pass quietly into the realm of death.
When a soul is too resilient or stubborn to forsake its physical form, the wormgod’s writhing progeny go to work, stripping the remains away so the gods of death may pass their judgement.
This is gruesome, grotesque work, earning the plane the inglorious title of the Realm of Ruin. It is a land devoid of life, festering with the fleshy remains of countless mortals.
The incessant chewing and wriggling of worms is always audible, a ceaseless and nauseating consumption of all mortal flesh they can fit within their maws.

"Be careful, everyone!" Ragnarok Reaper’s voice sliced through the players’ fear.
"The Wormgod is a formidable foe that few can hope to match. Its every action unleashes rot and decay in the form of vicious necrotic worms that infest everything they touch.
"Avoid contact with the worms at all costs; they have the power to turn you into the undead. Should that happen, utilize the holy potions you were tasked to bring."
"Healers! Prepare to counter the necrotic and rot damage and bring back any players affected by the undead!" Doom Harbinger added.
"Everyone! Let’s go and kill this shit!" Fury roared, signaling the start of the battle.
Steel Striker and Eclipse’s Serpent Minions took the first strike. They took to the frontline, their avatars charging into the worm.
Fury soared above, casting shadows with each powerful beat of her draconic wings.
The DPS group all charged as well while Fighting Bunny’s group remained on standby, ready to flank and disrupt the worms that started to come out from the Wormgod, while Doom Harbinger strategically summoned colossal skeletons to divert the attention of the worm horde.
This was to ensure that their main attacking army wouldn’t get overwhelmed and wiped out as they take on the Wormgod itself.
The Castle of Doom’s landscape transformed into a battlefield once again, and Xin now thought that he needed his golem now or never.
If pushed came to shove, he would change his weapon and summon his golems if he felt like his life was in danger. He would face the consequences of his actions after the battle was over.
The most important thing right now was to stay alive.
The enchanted blade responded to his every command, cutting through the worms that suddenly popped from the ground.
"Exercise caution! Prevent them from burrowing into you; otherwise, you’ll become an undead! Swiftly consume a Holy Potion if that happens!"
"Guard the castle! Halt their advance here!"
"Don’t let the worms near the castle! Protect the NPCs at all coast!"
The rhythmic chaos of combat enveloped Xin, and he discovered himself effortlessly synchronizing with the pulse of the conflict.
Steel Striker was a blur of blue light that moved with unmatched speed, delivering devastating blows to the Wormgod while Eclipse covered for him and weaved through the worms, delivering venomous ad acid strikes that corroded their ranks.
In her draconic form, Fury unleashed a torrent of fiery breath upon the horde of worms slithering toward the castle, creating pockets of devastation.
Leveraging her terrain advantage, she thwarted any worms attempting to breach even a kilometer into the town.
The responsibility for the safety of the NPCs rested heavily on her shoulders. It was of utmost importance to prevent even a single worm from breaching the walls, as it would spell game over for them.
