MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith-Chapter 1439: Myriad Prodigies: First Round - Ataraxia (3)
Ding!
"Mnh…?"
Having decided to focus all of his attention on Ataraxia in order to make sure his other identity passed the first round, Valyr took a while to wake his original identity up from slumber.
Feeling a bit groggy after having just woken up, it took a while for him to readjust to his senses.
However, once he did, he went ahead and took a look at his notification, considering that it was the reason why he decided to split his attention into two again in the first place.
"Hey, Valyr. I heard from someone along the grapevine that you have a student now?"
Opening up the cause behind the sudden notification, a faint smile soon appeared on Valyr's face as he thought about what the other person felt while writing it.
"What about it?" he wrote in his reply, its tone undeniably that of smugness. "Are you planning on poaching him or something, Julian?"
"First off, poaching is quite the strong word. But aside from that… I'm still unsure," replied Julian after some time. "He's entered my radar since he chose profession as one of his areas, but he's still going through his second area."
"Nevertheless, the things he's shown to everyone so far are nothing short of amazing," the man continued, the awe more than obvious in the way he wrote.
"Whether it's his capabilities in the world of magic, or the strength he's showing in the waves of enemies he's currently fighting, all of them are undoubtedly prodigy-level already."
"If anything, it's weird that he's only reputable in Astella City before this tournament." At these words, Valyr could imagine Julian letting out a slight chuckle. "Though it also makes me wonder how you've got such a keen eye for people."
"I'm pretty sure I've mentioned something about it before," wrote the young man after mulling over Julian's words for a bit. "Remember the reason why I've decided to stay in a village all of a sudden?"
"Before the new version?"
"Yeah."
"You did mention that to me," replied Julian. "It was in preparation for the appearance of the players."
"Of course, I know that your student Ataraxia is a player. Even if he wasn't, I would've still reached out to you either way."
"To ask me where I'm finding such talented people?" wrote Valyr in his reply, letting out a brief chuckle at it. "No need to ask. The villages at the outskirts of the kingdoms is where you should look."
"Though not all of them might not show the same level of talent as Ataraxia, I'm pretty sure a decent number of them would still be better than the average person you could recruit."
"I've started to notice that, actually," responded Julian in return. "Although I may not be able to keep a close eye on all the players that have appeared since the advent of the new version, I did notice that there's a lot more talent amongst the players."
"However, compared to Ataraxia, the speed at which they're progressing is definitely slower," he continued. "Of course, compared to everyone else, their speed is monstrous, but you get what I mean."
"In any case, while waiting for them to mature, I'd highly appreciate it if you could give tips on how to raise a student as good as Ataraxia."
Reading through this message, the young man could not help but let out a bit of laughter.
Using a bit of magic to make his drink cold again, Valyr went ahead and took a sip before falling into slumber once again.
'A tip on raising a student as good as Ataraxia?'
'Well, for one, you gotta have all of your memories of playing Greater Beyond intact before getting a second shot at life…'
'Bah, who am I kidding?'
'In the end, it's pretty simple.'
'You just gotta have enough resources to invest in them.'
…
"[Orb of Apyrhan]."
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Conjuring a shield to his left to block some of the attacks heading his way, Valyr calmly extended his right arm before activating one of his more destructive spells.
Bang!
Unsurprisingly, with the spell's might augmented with his mana circuit and his refined mana, the orb easily cleared the right portion of the wave with ease, allowing him to take care of the remaining portion with a few more spells.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Combining both offensive and defensive spells to have the battle go at his own tempo, the wave of enemies before him all eventually fell to the ground, prompting the proctor to make an announcement.
"You have passed through the 30th and final wave of the test. Your grade for the combat area is… Platinum!"
Having garnered the attention of a decent number of people throughout his attempts at the first two areas, it was no surprise that many of them began to cheer for him the moment those words echoed throughout the area.
In fact, even those who were about to begin their own tests looked at him with awe and admiration, having watched him control the battlefield all this time as if he were the conductor of an orchestra.
Thanking the proctor for their time, Valyr soon left the combat area after confirming that his results were recorded accordingly.
"Two tests down, one more to go."
Recalling the information he made sure to memorize beforehand, the young man eventually found himself in the area that tested profession, immediately being greeted by the sight of many participants pursuing their own crafts.
Ttang! Ttang! Ttang!
Considering that the Blacksmith Guild had a large branch within the kingdom, it was not surprising that a great number of participants tackled the test as a blacksmith.
However, there were also multiple people among the participants that tackled the test through the three other major professions, causing Valyr to briefly think of the Imperial Production Guild.
Looking to his sides, it was only then did he find participants that pursued a different profession from the main four, with many of their crafts showing a far more interesting visual than the masses.
"Name?" Although the attendant of the profession area wasn't allowed to move around, the man was still able to obtain bits and pieces of information on Ataraxia, who'd swept the first two areas he'd gone through.
Because of that, the man had a hint of excitement and anticipation in his eyes as he asked for Valyr's name.
"Azure Mage."
"…Alright." Taking in a deep breath to compose himself, the attendant quickly brought up all the results Valyr had achieved thus far. "You have achieved a final grade of Platinum in the magic area, as well a final grade of Platinum in the combat area."
"If you were to also obtain Platinum here, there's no doubt that many organizations would seek to recruit you and have you enter their ranks."
"With that being said, what profession would you be using to tackle the area's test?"
Hearing this question, Valyr had a slight smile on his face.
Then, without hesitation, he replied.
"Spell scribe."
