MMORPG: War God, You are Invincible Again-Chapter 1412 - 7: Legion Organization
When necessary, Lu Hong still explained a bit more, stating that the world needed all living creatures to work together now. If there were divisions and everyone fought on their own, dealing with the Undead Heavenly Calamity Army would become even more difficult.
Liesuotus didn’t think much of this, so he didn’t care at all, while Archimonde understood and nodded, "I understand what you’re saying, there won’t be any trouble."
In the days that followed, the Hell Demon Army launched a full-scale offensive once more.
However, as time passed, some of the resurrected undead who had once possessed military skills began to gather spontaneously, organizing the ordinary undead who only knew how to charge mindlessly without any formation or tactics.
Thus, the first formally structured undead army appeared at the foot of the Void Mountain in the Hanqiu Mountain Realm.
The scouts from the Hell Demon side naturally discovered this large undead army undergoing integration and military training.
The news reached Archimonde and others. Originally, it was easy to deal with scattered undead armies by tactical division, picking them off in batches. They were just a bunch of brute forces; at most, their overwhelming numbers could wear you down. But as the Hell Army gradually adapted to this kind of warfare, now each encounter with the Undead Legion resulted in at least an eighty percent reduction in loss compared to the beginning. Many demons had already figured out how to survive among these mindlessly charging idiots.
The structured army appearing now posed the greatest threat to the Territorial Demons.
"If we’re going to fight, then we fight. They’re actually organizing tactics now? I’ll go lead the troops to annihilate them!" Liesuotus didn’t think much of it; anyway, fighting was the same for him. Since the enemy was so distinctive, he would just fight them.
Archimonde did not oppose this, indeed it was necessary to fight. So he said, "To reach the foot of the Void Mountain, we need to clear all the undead for hundreds of kilometers ahead. After reaching Void Mountain, we must maintain high stamina and combat power to quickly approach this undead army. I suggest we split our forces. I’ll lead the way and open the path for you. Once we reach the foot of Void Mountain, I’ll cover you from the rear. As for the task of destroying this undead army, it’s all yours."
Hearing Archimonde’s arrangement, Liesuotus patted his chest and promised, "No problem, I’ll make sure they’re completely wiped out for you."
Archimonde ignored Liesuotus’s promise and instead looked at Lu Hong, saying, "To handle a purposefully trained army, there will definitely be strong undead backing them. If a powerful entity appears, I hope the two Titans can step in to resolve it."
Lu Hong nodded, "They’re here precisely for this kind of task, don’t worry."
"Alright!"
With everything settled, the next day, the Demon Army began reorganizing and set out towards Void Mountain.
With Archimonde leading the way, the land for thousands of miles was almost entirely massacred, but at the same time, the soldiers under Archimonde’s command were also exhausted.
Liesuotus, already eager for battle, led his legion to launch an attack against the army at the foot of Void Mountain.
As Liesuotus let out a blood-curdling howl, countless demons swarmed forward. When it came to strategy and tactics, demons weren’t very reliable either. The Demon Fire had indeed affected their brains, simply put, it had somewhat burned them out.
Therefore Archimonde’s wisdom was immensely valuable for the Hell Demons. That’s why the Hell Demon King chose to ignore the Spider Mother’s death and did not punish Archimonde; they were too short on talent to carelessly discard it.
Just as the Hell Army began their charge, a sky full of arrows rained down like a storm, and these Bone Arrows possessed powerful destructive power. The ordinary demons couldn’t defend themselves and were easily pierced through, bodies and all.
A wave of arrow rain truly caught the Demon Army by surprise. Liesuotus, though quick to react, used his Demon Power to sweep away a large area of Bone Arrows, but due to the battlefield’s vastness, he still couldn’t protect the entire Demon Army.
In this volley, at least tens of thousands of demons died on the spot.
Resting in the distance, Archimonde immediately turned furious, pointing and cursing at Liesuotus: "Couldn’t you freaking put in more effort to block more arrows?! Do you know how many people died?!"
Feeling wrongly blamed, Liesuotus was indignant. Though his power was close to that of a Main God, he was truly a pure physical output melee fighter. His body was strong and his domain was infallible, but in terms of Demon Power, there wasn’t much of a significant difference compared to an ordinary Mortal Realm Celestial. So the defense he could put up was limited. If he forcefully tried to cover a larger area against more arrows, his defensive effectiveness would be greatly reduced, possibly unable to even protect the soldiers beside him.
Unjustly scolded, Liesuotus transformed his anger into motivation, directly charging to the forefront, intending to fight his way into the ranks of the Bone Army.
But the next second, a massive worm emerged from the side underground, opening its bloody mouth and biting towards Liesuotus.
Liesuotus stood a hundred meters tall, but the worm’s mouth was even larger than a Liesuotus. Just the body emerging from underground was several hundred meters long, not to mention the part still underground. It was undoubtedly a massive creature.
If the Ancestor Dragon were here, it would certainly recognize it as the Heaven-devouring Earthworm from the Endless Forest, one of the ancient forest’s native species.
Liesuotus had not anticipated an ambush from such a terrifying creature. Nonetheless, he immediately activated his domain and swung his Wolf Fang Club.
Although the club hit, striking the Heaven-devouring Earthworm’s fang-filled mouth, it didn’t prevent the Earthworm from swallowing Liesuotus whole.
"What the hell?!" Seeing this scene, Lu Hong quickly turned to Qin Hong.
Understanding, Qin Hong stepped into the void, landing directly behind the huge Heaven-devouring Earthworm. Before it could retreat underground again, he grasped its body forcefully, pulling the entire worm out of the earth.
The enormous body, nearly a thousand meters long, seemed terrifyingly massive, but in the eyes of a Titan, it was no different from a chick.
Having pulled out the Heaven-devouring Earthworm, Qin Hong used the strength of his other hand, and with a forceful tug, the whole worm was torn in half. Liesuotus was also released smoothly, though his body was pierced all over by bone fangs, a pitiable sight.
Despite his wounds, Liesuotus’s combat strength had not diminished significantly. Once back on solid ground, his anger was intense; he had almost died in the belly of that monster worm. What rotten luck!
"Charge, kill them all!"
Soon, the Hell Demon Army clashed with the Undead Legion, but despite the skirmish, Lu Hong and Archimonde saw no signs of tactical deployment by the training army, remaining a disorganized rabble that crumbled with a single strike from the Hell Demons.
Seeing this, Qin Hong turned to Lu Hong and remarked, "The target you seek seems to have long escaped. What’s here are merely sacrificial puppets."
Unexpectedly cunning, Lu Hong and Archimonde exchanged a glance, realizing they were facing an exceedingly shrewd and elusive opponent!
Meanwhile, from the side of the battlefield, a Bone Knight approached slowly, mounted on a Bone Horse, and started shouting, "Is there a Marshal or General among you? Someone who can talk, step forward!"
Upon hearing this, Archimonde turned, gazing at the diminutive Bone Knight, and demanded, "Who are you?!"
"I am Ugmu, one of Emperor Constant’s Twelve Radiant Knights. I come bearing a letter of challenge under Emperor Constant’s orders."
"Constant?" Lu Hong raised an eyebrow, knowing it surely wasn’t his uncle, who was still alive. Since it wasn’t his uncle, it must be a former emperor of the Human Race’s Sacred Empire.
"Which generation is your Majesty in the line of Human Emperors?" Lu Hong inquired.
"My lord, His Majesty is the second-generation Great Emperor of the Human Race, Konstantin Geen. Your recent sneak attack on our forces was foreseen by His Majesty. Our forces are still in training, but we ask you to wait patiently. Soon, His Majesty will personally lead the army to meet you in battle!"
"Fine, I’ll be waiting!" Archimonde replied, then turned and left without looking back.
