Modern World Warlock-Chapter 232: Dante Vs. Android 1.1
Further away from Megan and Alice's battle, Dante faced the burly android, who seemed to be able to transform almost any part of his body into a weapon.
The warlock couldn't sense any energy coming from the man, so it was a bit challenging for him to predict what the android would do next.
'I'll just assume all of his movements are hostile…' Dante thought.
With that in mind, as soon as the burly android pointed his palm at him, Dante instantly produced a shadow wall to protect himself from the bullets.
*Ratatatatata…* The projectiles kept raining on the wall.
Suddenly, the android stopped his barrage as his scanner showed that Dante wasn't behind the wall anymore, making him quickly turn around to find the warlock pointing his palm at him.
"Rapture!" Dante chanted, releasing an invisible slice toward the android.
However, when the android skillfully ducked down to avoid the spell, Dante's eyes widened with perplexion.
'He can see my attack!?' he thought, letting out a smile from excitement.
The warlock was using the encounter to familiarize himself with the androids' style of fighting, and he never expected that they would be able to discern umbra, finding it interesting and a bit scary.
"Environment anomaly detected—Cause: Intruder…" said the android.
"Phase 2, activated…" he continued, prompting his body to transform.
The android's wrists opened like a lid, where metal plates began to appear and stick to his entire body, leaving no gaps.
'I'm guessing those plates are for protection…' Dante pondered with a smirk, wondering if his magic would be able to damage it.
In the world of Terra, there were a few minerals that weren't affected by magical abilities—such as Mithril and Adamantine. However, the warlock wasn't aware of those metals existing on Earth.
'I'm pretty sure Zac and Camille told me those minerals don't exist here…' Dante thought.
Still, he didn't recognize the black, metallic plates, so he decided to test their durability during their encounter.
The android's whole body was fully clad in the dark metal, including his face, whose only feature was the two red lights as eyes.
Gun barrels of different sizes appeared on his body—two on each shoulder, elbows, knees, chest, stomach, and feet—prompting the warlock to take a firmer stance and be ready to counterattack.
As soon as the android began shooting from every single cannon on his body, Dante raised another shadow wall to protect himself.
However, his opponent wouldn't fall for the same trick twice, instantly advancing towards the wall to catch the warlock from the side.
"Heh…" Dante scoffed, expecting the android to approach him.
Right as the burly robot caught up to him and peeked behind the shadow wall, Dante's finger gun was already pointing at his body.
"Destro," he muttered, making the android take a desperate side step to avoid the invisible force traveling straight toward him.
*BOOM!* Bzz, bzz* The android's entire right arm was blown away.
Dante grinned, his smile slightly wicked, feeling glad that the robot's defenses weren't enough for his magic.
Still, the android didn't give up, dropping explosives from his chest that landed right in front of Dante.
In the blink of an eye, Dante coated his body with his umbra and jumped high in the air, getting away from the explosion's radius right as they detonated.
Black smoke rose from the ground, and when Dante pondered if the android had been destroyed, he was targeted by another barrage of bullets coming from the smoke.
Since the warlock couldn't sense any energy from his opponent, he was utterly blind to his position while shrouded in the smoke. However, his desperate attempt to kill Dante revealed his location.
"Destro," Dante muttered again, releasing the spell with a more potent force than before, destroying everything around the smoky area and leaving a single mechanical arm undamaged.
The warlock picked up the severed arm out of curiosity, wondering if Paige could use it to familiarize herself with the upgrades that the androids had been receiving.
Reading the tattoo again that said "1.1," Dante still couldn't figure out what it meant, so he decided to take it back with him.

Near the ghouls' nest, Zac was using his baseball bat to break through the monster's defenses, slamming them out of his way as he approached the fleshy spawner in the center.
The brainless movements of the ghouls were no match for Zac and the vampires, who skillfully avoided their attacks and countered with a killing blow.

The monster's bodies were skinny, which was a common feature for ghouls as they were always starving. Their skins were gray, their heads bald, and their faces were shriveled and unsettling.
Apart from the loud screeching they produced, the ghouls had no other methods of communication, making their offense unorganized and easy to counter.
Claudia plowed through several ghouls with one rush, striking their heads and severing them with her hand in an instant, making a disgusted expression as she shook off the blood from her body.
Laurent had his hands in his pockets as a large pack of ghouls ran up to him, prompting him to take one hand out and wave it to the side, releasing a trail of blood that solidified and sliced the ghouls in half.
"Annoying trash…" The vampire muttered.
None of the vampire siblings enjoyed the encounter, finding the ghouls to be repulsive and dumb.
Nevertheless, they kept making way for Zac to keep rushing straight toward the spawner, using his bat to slap away any ghoul that escaped the vampires' clutches.
When the redhead found himself mere centimeters away from the spawner, his entire body produced an intense burst of umbra that caught the attention of the two vampires.
Holding his bat with both hands and taking a batter's stance, Zac imagined himself hitting a home run, slamming the spawner with all of his strength.
As his weapon made contact with the flesh structure, a powerful blast of pure, concentrated umbra was released, annihilating dozens of ghouls up to ten meters in front of him and destroying the spawner with a single strike.
