Modern World Warlock-Chapter 346: The Sacred Beast and the Wizard
After Vesnia left the necromancer's mansion with Camille's earpiece, she made her way to an area outside the death's ichor so that Netherius wouldn't see or hear her.
As she confusedly hung it on her ear, Trinity blasted her eardrums with a loud scream, asking where the handler was.
To the hacker's surprise, it wasn't Camille on the other side of the line, prompting her to be cautious of her words.
"My name is Vesnia…" The Death Knight spoke up, and she didn't wait for the hacker to introduce herself as she began to divulge Camille's location and plan.
Trinity quickly wrote everything down, including the location of the communication jammer, and instantly sent an emergency message to the androids, who were cleansing the necropolis of the undead.
Out of all the groups that ventured inside the corrupted city, Sami and Lexia were the ones who had destroyed the most necrotic cores, which were responsible for spreading the ichor. freeweɓnovel.cøm
After Trinity sent the message, she knew they wouldn't receive it unless the jammer was destroyed, and Vesnia replied that she would take care of that.
The hacker seemed to have a few more questions for the Death Knight, but right after she gave her intel, Vesnia ventured back into the corrupted district, rushing at a speed that could match a sports car.

While the events inside the necropolis were heating up more, Imera, The Golden Fox, had gone all the way to a district that was quite far from the corruption.
The Sacred Beast wanted to destroy the entire Onyx Cartel. However, she had a grudge against one person that overshadowed her hate for the cartel—Wolfram.
The wizard had extended his life by thousands of years after eating the heart of a Sacred Beast, who happened to be friends with Imera.
Still, after their battle in the world of Terra, she didn't know about Wolfram's fate until she found him again on Earth.
After all the groups ventured into the necropolis, Imera focused her sight on searching for the wizard, and her abilities as a Sacred Beast didn't fail her.
She realized that Wolfram had moved far away from the commotion, but she didn't know if the wizard was trying to bait her or if he was running away from the necromancer.
When the two of them were finally facing each other on the rooftop of a skyscraper, overlooking the necropolis corruption in the distance, the Golden Fox prepared herself for a fight.
"I couldn't finish you off back then. I doubt the convergence will save you here…" Imera commented, her gaze sharp and fierce.
Nevertheless, Wolfram showed no hostility towards the Sacred Beast. Instead, he spoke up and calmly said that their old grudge should have been buried a long time ago.
"I do not wish to fight you, Imera…" Wolfram continued, angering the Golden Fox.
"So? Am I supposed to listen to you?" Imera asked, irritated by the lack of grit from her opponent.
"It's been over two hundred years, Imera…" The wizard commented, alluding to the fact that the fox's grudge had lasted too long.
"A mere two hundred years isn't much. I still feel the same anger I felt back then," she replied, clenching her fists.
"Besides, you dare to mess with my family again. This time, I'll make sure that you truly die…" Imera continued.
Wolfram tried to explain that he didn't even know that Imera was the founder of the GTS, but the Sacred Beast had none of it and kept telling Wolfram to raise his guard.
Realizing that he wouldn't be able to calm Imera down, the wizard talked about the events that happened in Terra right after she fell into the convergence that brought her to Earth.
When the convergence portal mistakenly took the Golden Fox, Wolfram was heavily injured from their battle, and Imera believed that the wizard perished shortly after.
However, there was more to the story that she didn't know about.
The reason why Wolfram went as far as to kill a Sacred Beast and eat his heart was to follow Mystara, the Goddess of Magic.
His words slightly confused Imera, making her lower her guard and listen attentively, allowing Wolfram to speak freely.
During all of the studies that Wolfram conducted, he came to the conclusion that Goddess Mystara had escaped their world, and as a wizard, he was compelled to follow her.
The people in the world of Terra only praised the Goddess Aelara, who was seen as a symbol of justice and virtue.
She gave all of the holy knights their powers, and they were known as one of the strongest and most ruthless groups of people in Terra, as they would exterminate entire towns or villages that praised other deities.
Wolfram's theory was that Aelara had tried to kill all of the other gods in the Pantheon, and Goddess Mystara escaped by creating the convergence that sent her to another world.
Imera remembered catching up with Dante and asking the warlock about how he was transported there, and he revealed that a contract with a demon sent him there after he was meant to die in a battle against Zaratross, one of the gods.
Of course, the fight against Zaratross was an order that came directly from Goddess Aelara, so the warlock and his party didn't have much of a choice.
After remembering those important details, Imera started to believe Wolfram's words and kept silently listening.
"While you did a number on me, after your disappearance, I managed to stay alive for a few more days…" Wolfram explained.
When the wizard slowly tried to treat his wounds, he was visited by none other than Netherius, who wanted to make a contract with Wolfram so that he could eventually become a Death Knight.
Initially, Wolfram declined, saying that he had no interest in becoming an undead—and much less to work under a necromancer.
However, Netherius' offer was different from what he promised his other subordinates.
The necromancer wouldn't tamper with Wolfram's memories, and he wouldn't be able to command him, essentially giving the wizard free will to do as he wished.
In return, Netherius only wanted to have his support, knowing he was one of the most powerful wizards in Terra.
