Mommy Alert! The CEO Daddy Won't Stop Courting-Chapter 763: I Can’t Sleep Without You by My Side...
And that’s precisely why it wasn’t until the little angel was over a year old that she realized Michael wasn’t her biological daddy...
Although she worked hard to earn her place in the manor, Michael never crossed any boundaries or did anything that Serena Sterling wouldn’t like.
After three years of knowing each other, Serena Sterling considered Michael not just a close friend, but part of her family.
With family, Serena never avoided or felt the need to.
As Michael followed Serena Sterling into the hotel room and closed the door, a shadow emerged from the darkness.
He stood outside observing for a long time, and only after confirming that Michael hadn’t emerged did he quietly leave...
At this hour of the night, inside a dimly lit apartment, a woman stood awake.
Clad in a white dress, she stood frail on the balcony, gazing into the endless night, lost in thought.
At that moment, her phone suddenly rang.
The woman answered the call and put the phone to her ear, hearing a man’s voice.
"Miss Quarters, the Miss Sterling you asked me to follow checked into the Nighthaven Grand Hotel after leaving Director Davies’ villa. She brought along a little girl who calls Miss Sterling ’mommy’; that child must be Miss Sterling’s daughter."
Upon hearing this, Grace Quarters immediately tensed up.
Her hand clenched tightly as she anxiously asked, "How old is the child?"
"Looks about three years old," the man responded, continuing, "Additionally, Young Master Morris hasn’t appeared in front of Miss Sterling, but instead, a foreign man entered Miss Sterling’s room at Nighthaven Hotel just now. That man seems very familiar with Miss Sterling, and hasn’t come out since..."
The woman’s cold eyes flashed with sarcasm, and upon hearing that Serena Sterling had a child, her restless heart calmed immediately, "Perfect, with a foreign man and a child, Serena Sterling doesn’t need any more of my interventions, does she?"
With the first light of dawn breaking, Serena Sterling opened her eyes.
She changed out of her nightwear, quickly washed up, and returned to the bedroom.
Seeing the little angel still sweetly asleep, Serena softly called out, "Little angel, time to wake up!"
The little angel opened her sleepy eyes, smiled at Serena Sterling, "Mommy, are we going to the pretty auntie’s house?"
Serena nodded, helping the little angel change clothes as she gently said, "Yes, today is your pretty auntie’s wedding. We must go early!"
"Oh." The little angel drowsily nodded.
Then she suddenly remembered something and widened her eyes, "Mommy, did Michael Daddy come yesterday?"
Serena Sterling smiled, "He did, he’s at the hotel now."
"Great!" The little angel cheered, "I want to see Daddy now!"
Having dressed the little angel, Serena Sterling laughed and tousled her hair, "Do you miss Michael Daddy that much?"
"Yes." The little angel nodded, "I haven’t seen Michael Daddy in a long time."
Saying this, the little angel slid off the bed and ran off to find Michael...
Meanwhile, at the hillside villa, Adrian Davies and Melody Parker also woke from their slumber.
Adrian gently kissed Melody’s lips and asked lovingly, "Darling, are you nervous about being my bride today?"
Melody smiled and kissed him back, responding, "My love, I’m set to be your bride today; are you nervous?"
Adrian took Melody’s hand and placed it over his heart, "Can you hear that, Melody? My heart is beating so erratically right now."
Just then, there was a knock on the bedroom door.
Benjamin Parker’s voice sounded from outside, "Mommy, are you up? Today is your and Daddy’s wedding day; you need to get up early to get dressed and ready, or there won’t be enough time when Daddy arrives."
Melody glanced at Adrian, wanting to say, "Your Daddy is already here, isn’t he?"
Nevertheless, Melody knew she couldn’t say that, or she would feel awkward mentioning it, as Adrian shouldn’t have been there at all.
According to River City customs, the bride and groom aren’t supposed to see each other three days before their wedding.
But Adrian ignored that rule and only moved out the day before the wedding to their future home at Melody Garden with Melody and their children.
Last night, however, this man who had moved out secretly snuck back in.
Because she was too anxious about the wedding the next day and unaccustomed to Adrian suddenly not being by her side, Melody was tossing and turning alone in bed, unable to sleep.
When the balcony door was quietly opened, Melody quickly sat up.
Seeing the man who wasn’t supposed to be there, Melody furrowed her brow, "Adrian, why are you here?"
"I can’t sleep without you by my side!" Adrian spoke calmly, walking to the bed and swiftly undressing.
Melody was speechless, "Adrian Davies, tomorrow is our wedding day, you can’t be here!"
"It’s fine, no one will find out." Adrian said as he lay down on the bed.
He pulled Melody into his embrace, inhaling that familiar scent that he could never get enough of and murmured, "All those customs are for others to see; without you, I simply can’t sleep."
Then, Adrian’s dark eyes gazed at Melody, inquiring earnestly, "Melody, when I’m not here, you can’t sleep either, can you?"
Melody said honestly, "A little bit."
Adrian laughed indulgently, hugging her tighter, "Melody, tomorrow is the wedding, I’m so nervous."
Melody didn’t respond, truthfully she was quite nervous as well, otherwise, she wouldn’t still be unable to sleep.
Every time he thought of the forthcoming wedding, Adrian’s anxiety was overwhelming.
But no matter how tense he felt, he had to sleep soon.
Because tomorrow was a grand day for him and Melody, a day when he’d announce to the world that Melody was Adrian Davies’ woman, his wife for this lifetime and all eternity.
Adrian closed his eyes, tightened his embrace around Melody, and whispered near her ear, "Melody, sleep."
"Mm," Melody replied, wrapping her arms around Adrian’s strong waist and nestling into his warm arms, she closed her eyes.
Five minutes later, with no sign of sleepiness, Adrian suddenly said in a hoarse voice, "Melody, since we can’t sleep, shall we do something to help us fall asleep?"
