"I SAID SHUT UP!" Kael gritted his teeth as this curse continued to torment him. "I’ll find a cure for him, even if I have to trade the entire kingdom for it."

’As if you can do that. You and I know that’s just the side effect of the Dawn Star,’ the curse commented. ’That boy is a lost cause, Kael. You shouldn’t have raised him with so much care and love.’

"And let him suffer like I did growing up?" Kael sneered back. "Unlike you, I have a genuine love for Jojo."

’Which is strange because you’re the first one to raise the Dawn Star as a kid rather than a weapon,’ the curse commented. ’You are truly an anomaly amongst the Dusk Star of the previous eras.’

"Because I want to break this centuries of curse," Kael stated truthfully, knowing he couldn’t hide anything from this chattering curse in his head. "There shouldn’t be anymore Dusk or Dawn Star after us, because it is nothing but agony the moment they were born."

’How wise you are, heh-heh,’ the curse scoffed. ’It’s too bad that you’re not wise enough to mark that woman.’

"Grh!" Kael grunted out of frustration. He was angry at himself and also felt guilty for what he had done to Sisi.

He already declared her as the queen for his kingdom, but he screwed up so badly that he might as well admit defeat and never talk about that again in his life.

Thus, with all frustration piling up, all he could do was grunting.

’You should’ve marked her and bred her. She was gorgeous, don’t you think? The most gorgeous woman you’ve ever seen in your life. She was pretty defenseless just now. What a waste.’

"I don’t want just her body. I want her heart too," Kael said.

’And what do you know about the heart? You are a heartless beast who never hesitated about killing anyone before,’ the curse sneered.

"... I want her to love me as much as I love her," Kael murmured. He lowered his head as if he was contemplating what he said just now. "I don’t really know what love is. But I really like everything about her; her fake smile, her real cold nature, her genuine smile, the way she genuinely cared for Jojo, the way she tried to manage the courtyard."

"I even like her voice, her eyes, her lips, her scent—I just like everything about her. That’s love, isn’t it?"

For the first time, Kael actually asked the curse who often mocked him and tried to set up dangerous traps to ruin his life.

Kael expected a mockery from the curse, but he simply went silent and refused to answer his question just now.

Kael thought that the curse was finally tired of his rambling, so he simply fell back and laid flat on the ground, staring at the cave ceiling for a long time.

She also witnessed how the Beast King’s crimson eyes shone so bright and filled with malice, also Jojo’s eyes that turned golden alongside his tears that looked like melted gold.

It was an otherworldly phenomenon that fascinated Leah, making her even more determined to hold the father and son in her hand.

Once she made sure that the king was gone, she turned around and pushed the door open.

Jojo lifted his head instantly once he heard the sound of the door being pushed open. He was still completely blind, but he quickly stood up on the bed and glared towards the direction of the door.

"Who’s there?!"

Leah stared at the blind boy and was about to laugh at his ridiculousness.

Jojo looked very majestic with those golden eyes, but what was the point of looking majestic when he couldn’t see at all?
