Mommy Wolf: Raise A Cub, Claimed By His Beast Daddy-Chapter 182: Another Morning Court
General Pell felt as though his body had been soaked in cold water, because he was drenched in cold sweat right now.
He didn’t dare to lift his head as he replied, "It is indeed my mistake, My King. I didn’t tighten the security around the underground prison because I thought she was just a woman who had no strength. But I didn’t expect someone to help her break free."
"And have you found that woman and the one who helped her escape so far?" Kael asked again, and it took a great deal of strength for General Pell to shake his head in defeat.
"I’ve searched through the entire city and around the border of the kingdom to no avail, My King."
"Then do you have any plan on how to handle this problem? Because I want that woman’s head right in front of me," Kael demanded, and General Pell gulped nervously.
"I-I am willing to resign as punishment, My King..." General Pell replied.
"FOOL!"
Kael’s thundering voice caused shock and fear in everyone in the throne room. They were all trembling in fear, and the elephant general was trembling the most, as he was the one who caused the Beast King to raise his voice.
"If you make a mistake like this, then what you can do is flip this earth upside down until you find that woman! Resigning from your position is disgraceful, because that shows how irresponsible you are as a warrior!"
Kael’s words were very harsh, but at the same time, very reassuring for the elephant general.
Because the king indirectly said that General Pell didn’t need to resign, but he had to find that woman no matter what—a task he had already promised to do even if he were relieved of his position.
"I will do it, My King!" General Pell said solemnly. "I will flip the earth upside down until I can bring her head to you!"
"Good. That will be your task from now on. You shall travel across the Roc Forest and even to the human kingdom to search for that woman, while also spreading the existence of our kingdom. It is only a matter of time before the humans know about us, so they should know not to cross our border with ill intent," Kael commanded, and everyone listened solemnly.
He slowly turned toward Garou and clicked his tongue. "This is the second time you have had to face me like this, Garou. Tell me why I should keep you when there are a lot of promising youths out there to take your position."
Garou slowly lifted his head to face the Beast King. Of course, he still had deep respect for the king in front of him, and that was innate.
No matter what happened, Garou would forever be loyal to him, because he had sworn to be the Beast King’s weapon.
But when questioned about his usefulness, all he could say was, "My King, I am not the best at anything as I am still learning, but I believe I still have use for you." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"And what use do you have for me?"
"... Guarding the Mistress with my life."
Once again, Garou successfully shocked the entire court, and everyone was scared of what would happen to him next, since he always seemed to find a way to anger the Beast King.
Kael fell silent after that, because he began to think about Garou’s infatuation with Sisi.
He was a young man, so his infatuation ran wild, making it very easy to see.
Naturally, Kael should kick this bastard as far away as possible so he couldn’t seduce Sisi.
But deep down, Kael felt a hint of insecurity in his heart. He was scared that Sisi truly had no feelings for him because he was already a mature man—at least compared to Garou, who had just come fresh out of his crib.
He wanted to test the waters, to see if he would be beaten by Garou.
Though if that were the case then... he didn’t know if he could actually control his feelings. If Sisi truly chose Garou, he might either kick them both out of the kingdom to ease his heartache, or kill Garou separately to make sure that Sisi had no other choice but to love him.
But wouldn’t it be better if Sisi truly had no feelings for Garou?
As a man, Kael wanted to prove to himself that he still had it. Thus, he simply said, "From now on, you are relieved of your position as a young general. You seem to need more training before holding that title."
"You shall be trained under various generals inside the palace and work as Mistress Sisi’s bodyguard for now," Kael said. "I’ll see whether you’ll be worthy of your title again after your intense training."
"Thank you, My King! I will train harder under the masters. I will dedicate my life to the betterment of the kingdom and to protect Mistress Sisi with all my life!"
"You keep saying that you’ll protect her, but look at how that wretched maid walked in and almost killed my son and my future wife," Kael scoffed. "Stop making empty promises and do your job, Garou."
Garou nodded again, but this time he kept his mouth shut.
The other high-ranked beastmen were genuinely amazed by how Garou managed to convince the Beast King not to kill him.
His guts were truly amazing—perhaps it was because of his young blood that he dared to face even the strongest beastman to ever walk the earth.
Once Kael finished addressing the problem of last night, he looked at Vestor, who had been keeping his mouth shut the whole time, and asked, "Vestor, ask the crane physician and deer doctor about remedies for blindness."
"B-blindness, My King?!"
Kael ignored Vestor’s shocked reaction. It seemed the news of Jojo going blind hadn’t traveled to everyone here, or perhaps it was just Vestor, who liked to spend his nights indulging with his many wives at home, so he was behind on some news.
"And ask them about any medicine to strengthen eyesight," Kael added. "That is an order."
"Y-yes, My King, I’ll ask them immediately after the court ends!"
