Mommy Wolf: Raise A Cub, Claimed By His Beast Daddy-Chapter 198: Darling Sisi (IV)
"Ah..."
"But..."
Sisi sighed.
Of course, it was impossible for the faeries to keep secrets. Their pure hearts were basically a double-edged sword, because they would tell the truth without a filter, ignoring whether the boy would be happy or not hearing that.
"I haven’t agreed to that yet," Sisi interrupted. "Don’t worry, Jojo. I won’t leave."
Although Sisi had already assured him, the boy still felt restless. Now that he couldn’t see anything, he became even more clingy to Sisi, not wanting to leave her side even for a second.
The faeries also sensed the change in the little wolf’s mood. So, Sisi gave them a nod, and they understood what they had to do.
"D-don’t be sad, Jojo. Darling Sisi will not leave you," Jan Keke said. "We’re here to find her, but that doesn’t mean we can force her to go with us."
"And she wants us to be your friends. What friends would leave their friend behind? We’re going to stay by your side too!" Bold Dodo added, and the boy was finally at ease once more.
"Umm... Sisi can’t leave..." Jojo muttered as he clenched the swing’s ropes. "I only have Daddy and Sisi. I don’t want them to leave me alone." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Crush Tutu soon realized that their darling wanted them to talk to Jojo, so they could understand his feelings.
Now, Tutu understood that even a cursed being like Jojo still wanted to have a mother, and he was fully dependent on Sisi.
The faeries knew how harsh the beastmen world truly was. There were many beastmen children who got orphaned because tribe wars were very common.
Perhaps, Jojo’s mother died during difficult labor, and now he latched onto and imprinted on their darling.
So, was it fair for them to forcefully separate the mother and son?
Crush Tutu might be young for a faerie, but even she knew that was a cruel thing to do.
In the end, the little faerie kept her mouth shut, watching how her friends tried to console the sulking boy. She turned her head toward Darling Sisi, and the latter smiled at her, as if she had calculated everything.
"You faeries are free to roam the Queen’s courtyard. This place is pretty spacious after all, and there’s no child around Jojo’s age, so you don’t have to worry about getting spotted," Sisi said, but she didn’t mention contacting Grandma Tree tonight, knowing Jojo would have a thousand questions about it, worrying over nothing.
**
An hour had passed, and the air around the pavilion started to get colder. So, Sisi carried Jojo back to the main building while the faeries sat on the boy’s head and shoulders.
She helped wash the boy’s hands and feet, then put him on the bed.
Jojo couldn’t see anything, but he could feel Sisi’s warmth as always.
However, now that the faeries were here to claim Sisi, he became restless from time to time and hugged Sisi a little bit too tight.
"Sisi, please don’t leave..."
"I won’t leave, Jojo," Sisi said. "—at least not until you’re an adult."
"But the faeries..."
"They said that I am their darling. But I still want to spend more time with you, so don’t worry," Sisi assured again, and the boy finally let go of his worry and fell asleep rather quickly while hugging Sisi.
Sisi lay right next to the boy while staring at the faeries who were flying above them.
Sisi smiled at them and said, "I’m sorry, little ones. But as you can see, Jojo is very dependent on me, and I cannot leave him alone, at least not permanently."
The trio of faeries looked at each other and said, "Then, what are you going to do next, Darling?"
"I’ll talk with Grandma Tree in my dream to see if there’s a way out of this problem—oh, and I’ll ask if there is a way to cure Jojo’s blindness," Sisi said. "I’ll go to sleep now. You three can rest on that potted plant if you want."
Sisi pointed to a potted plant right next to the window. It was a unique plant with flowers that bloomed all year long.
Kael said he bought it from a beastman caravan that traveled from the far south, and it seemed the claim was true, because it didn’t wither even during winter.
The trio of faeries went to the potted plant and rested on each open flower like three hammocks. They were staring at their darling as she fell asleep quickly.
Jan Keke couldn’t help asking her most knowledgeable friend, "Tutu, do you think we can bring her home?"
"I don’t know," Crush Tutu said rather somberly. "Our darling has a mind of her own. She is much more independent than her mother, so... we can’t really force her to go back..."
"But we can’t let your grandpa manage the faeries forever. He must be very tired..." Bold Dodo mentioned. "I hope Grandma Tree will force her to go back. The faerie land needs her..."
...
Crush Tutu felt conflicted. She was sad that their darling wasn’t as pure-hearted as she looked. She was very calculative and smart, and wouldn’t budge no matter how many times they begged.
Was this a punishment from Mother Nature because the previous darling was very innocent and easy to trick?
And what would Grandma Tree and the elders think once they realized that their darling was very close to the cursed being of this era?
There were too many difficult topics inside Crush Tutu’s brain, so she decided to just close her eyes and hoped that everything would be solved by morning.
Sisi reminded herself to think of Jojo as she drifted to sleep. She really wanted to meet with Grandma Tree to solve many problems she had right now, but most importantly, to find a way to cure Jojo’s blindness.
As she kept thinking of her ’warm home,’ she felt that her body traveled through a wormhole, and once she opened her eyes, she was already standing in front of a massive ancient tree with beautiful petals falling from the sky.
My dearest... granddaughter...
