Monster Gacha System: Becoming The Final Boss-Chapter 155 | The Trap
Shards of reality scarred the distorted world, leaving behind deep ridges that seemed to know no end. Hollow trenches lay across the devastated landscape, an eerie silence whispering from beneath.
In the middle of it all was a lone vampire, the supposed strongest True Blood within the Clan. Second only to the progenitor of vampires.
Duke December kneeled, his body armless. Crimson dripped from his wounds, his eyes losing their glimmer with every passing moment.
All of his colleagues had fought.
And they had lost.
Defeated by the strongest of humanity, the Seventh Paragon of SIGIL, the White Devil, Alastair Glass. Strands of her silver white hair fluttered with the empty and cold winds.
Her pearl-like eyes radiated unkept arrogance of divine magnitude. She loomed over the True Blood like a god whose sheer gaze was capable of bending the wills of mortals and immortals alike.
"T-This..."
They did everything they could against her. Utilizing the best of their capabilities to barely survive her power. Still, some couldn't last long enough.
"...Is n-not the end!"
"White Devil... Y-you are an abomination t-that shouldn't exist in this world. For the sake of e-everyone and everything..."
"You-" Duke December coughed out blood as he felt his body exhausted the final ounces of its immortal vitality. He was determined to complete the mission.
Even if it was a suicidal task that would result in their deaths.
The Duke wanted to leave behind a legacy. A legend whose actions shaped the essence of the New World. His dry lips curled into a subtle smile.
"...have already lost."
The distorted world unraveled like a mirror, its aspects reflecting from one another. Echoes of the past, present, and future were unveiled by destiny.
Alastair felt a presence puncturing through her layered domain. There was only one being that could do so in the New World. It was none other than the progenitor of the vampires. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
An explosion blasted from the heavens as the reflections of reality cracked and shattered like glass. A shadowy figure clad in pitch-black armor descended.
"Vampire Progenitor... It has been a while." Alastair's pearl-like eyes were tinted in frost. The oppression of the White Devil pressed down on the distorted world.
"Alastair Glass, my greatest humiliation."
"To think you have dared to annihilate my children."
Bloodlust radiated from the dark-armored man, resembling a ruthless abomination ready to pounce at a moment's notice.
But Alastair merely chuckled at him, shaking her head. It was as though she had heard of a good joke escaping his pitch-black helmet.
"You don't look like you care, progenitor? Is it because you could make more of them?" Her arrogant words struck a chord.
"It doesn't matter what you think, Alastar Glass. They have succeeded in doing what they were tasked to do." The Vampire Progenitor took out an ancient cube.
"I do not need to defeat you to attain victory."
"Once you are out of the picture, the Clan will naturally dominate over the New World." The ancient cube opened, unravelling into various interconnecting box-like shapes.
"This artifact shall become your prison."
"It is the Tesseract."
Alastair felt the distorted world transform over her layered domain. It was the locking of the spatial coordinates where the alternate dimension dwelled.
In simpler terms, she was trapped inside the distorted world.
"Locking the planar field to avoid me escaping. That must have taken quite a lot of preparation." Alastair maintained her arrogance, understanding one thing.
The fact that they decided to rely on tricks instead of directly confronting her meant that the Clan wasn't confident in fighting a battle against her.
"Speak your last words... We will meet again a thousand years later." The Vampire Progenitor spoke, his voice as cold and indifferent as before.
The aetheric fluctuation permeating from the Tesseract got stronger and stronger. Alastair felt the space around her solidifying. It seems that she was about to get sealed.
Her supple lips curved into an arrogant smile as she narrowed her pearl-like gaze towards the progenitor of the Clan. She wasn't afraid. After all, it was merely a temporary imprisonment.
"Just because I won't be there to protect humanity doesn't mean they would be lambs for slaughter to your kind."
"My partner and juniors can handle what's left of the Clan. Even without me, I don't doubt their capabilities to achieve victory."
She felt her body freeze, yet she remained as confident and determined as the strongest. Her pearl-like irises glinted with malice. "You don't know who you're facing."
"Each of them has the capabilities and potential to stand beside me. Maybe some of them could even surpass me and unravel a new epoch for the New World."
"This is merely the beginning-"
Light pulsated from the Tesseract as it absorbed the spatial frozen body of the White Devil into its eternal and infinite prison.
The ancient cube returned to its original decrepit form in the embrace of the progenitor's palm. "The cost of the seal took the essence of ten million vampires."
"A price too much yet too little for the golden age of the Clan."
The Vampire Progenitor muttered to himself as a True Blood materialized beside him. It was none other than Duke November, who bowed to their majesty.
"Most of the True Bloods have been eliminated, my lord. Only two of us remained." He reported the outrageous and horrifying piece of news to the Vampire Progenitor.
What was supposed to be a celebratory moment of disposing of their greatest obstacle ended in eerie silence. The price of the operation was the annihilation of the Clan's entire military force.
"This isn't the best cost to pay, but military power can be replaced. As long as the White Devil has been taken care of, it is merely a matter of time."
The Vampire Progenitor shook his head and walked away. The distorted world faded into black; whatever was left inside was returned to its actual reality.
"The Tesseract shall be sealed at the bottom of the castle. Everyone who knew of its existence must be disposed of. Let it be forgotten by the annals of the world."
Such was his last command before disappearing.
Duke November merely watched in silence. His colleagues were all gone, for the sake of one individual. He understood that their master could replace the True Bloods in the following decades.
But it was troublesome to forget the faces who he always stood beside. Even when they didn't get along and sometimes fought one another, they were still comrades serving the same master.
Meanwhile...
The Rogue Blade stood before the two halves of Duke September's corpse. The True Blood didn't stand against the weight of the heavens and the earth.
However, she felt no satisfaction.
After all, Francine felt the presence of her partner disappearing. Her sapphire-like gaze frowned as she clenched her fingers together, crimson blood dripping from her palm.
"This isn't death... What happened to her?"
The Rogue Blade closed her eyelids and scattered her perception throughout the desolate landscape. She then noticed the oppression of two beings. Duke November and the Vampire Progenitor.
"A conspiracy..."
Naturally, she wanted to charge towards the two. But she halted herself and decided to be responsible for her juniors first.
On the other hand, Damien watched his Terror Points steadily rise in his status display. Its bluish glow reflected from his face.

But then, he noticed the disappearance of his boss's presence. His aetheric background spiked as he turned his head towards a certain direction.
"Impossible!"
