We began to sing;

All people had was up and waving to us.

I started singing the song, and Fenrir was wandering around.

There were decorations created with illusion magic all around, and they were dancing.

And there was an illusion of fire and hell...

Artemis and I grabbed the microphones.

It felt like everyone was joining us...

They were singing with us, and some of the girls were screaming towards us.

She said it in a very sarcastic tone, which made me laugh — and caused Artemis to give me that "see, I told you" look.

Then Gabriel spoke up: "You really have talent. If you ever want to work with the divine choir, you’re welcome to come."

"Is God doing job interviews now? That’s the funniest thing I’ve heard in ages," I said.

But Gabriel continued in my mind with that mocking tone: "God is God. He does whatever He wants."

"Yeah, yeah, fair enough."

The others knew I was talking to Gabriel, so they didn’t interfere.

But if somebody sees that I’m talking to myself, they will probably gonna think that I’m insane.

I don’t deny it, but it’s hurt when I am being accused of something I didn’t do.

In the end, we won the song contest.

People voted for us.

While Fenrir was on my shoulder, Artemis and I got medals pinned on us.

We were having fun together, meeting up with the others as well.

The festival had calmed down by now, but I was scanning the surroundings, waiting for some explosion.

Because fate was going to do what fate does.

On the last day of the festival... really shitty things were going to happen...

I was going to prepare for that day.

Because the threat approaching wasn’t something normal.

Even though this is an otome game world, there is some dark fantasy element and mother fucking cosmic horror.

And it was souls like...

If I didn’t have a cheat, I would suicide before somebody takes my soul.

Whoever would rob me of my happiness must reckon with this truth: a life without meaning is nothing, and a fate that destroys what I love is a fate I will shatter, even if I must shatter myself in the process.

And in that, yes, I rise beyond good and evil, beyond redemption or damnation, as the guardian who will burn the cosmos itself if it dares touch what is mine.
