I stopped clenching my fists and rose from my throne and was heading toward the exit doors, which were massive and tall.

"King Nikolai!". Gabriel yelled my name.

I wasn’t bothered. I continued to walk and said, "I am blessed with a fated mate. I will bring her into our pack soon".

The exit doors were opened.

Before I stepped out of the throne room, I heard them muttering in disbelief.

"He has a fated mate? Why am I only hearing about it today?".

"Forget about that. Did you not hear what he just said? He said he would bring her to our pack soon. Doesn’t that mean his fated mate is not from our pack?".

"Wait-".

"Don’t tell me he plans on marrying someone from outside our pack?!".

Gabriel’s yelling voice was the last voice I heard after I left the throne room.

I made my way to my late mother’s garden and arriving there, I could perceive the sweet smell of fresh trees combined with white flowers and red roses.

There was a water fountain that never ceased to produce water. In its center, there was a very tall tree planted there.

My mother was known for having a weird brain because of the weird ideas she always came up with.

For once, I had never appreciated my mother’s garden.

I also never spent time with my mother, my father and my older siblings that much, as I preferred staying alone.

But, after I lost them, I had my regrets.

I should have spent a lot of time with them. I should have appreciated their existence like never before. Unfortunately, I could never see them again even if I wanted to.

I climbed the tall tree effortlessly simply by jumping high.

After sitting down on a thick branch, my eyes began staring at the bright sky.

What a tragedy.

The sky is bright and lovely in the morning, but red and cold in the night, as if it was trying to remind me and my pack about the night we would never forget.

The night that a creature looking like a man, but believed to be a demon by me and my pack, attacked our pack and killed my family, all the Lycans and some of the werewolves.

The same night that caused my pack’s name to be changed from the Bright Moon pack to the Vengeful Moon pack.

Everything happened 20 years ago, and that day changed my life for good.

Rumors spread out that I was the one who killed my family and all the other Lycans because I wanted to be the only Lycan, as Lycan was the strongest compared to werewolves.

When I confronted the werewolves who were spreading such lies about me, I discovered that they weren’t my subjects but outsiders who were living in my pack.

Out of anger, I ordered only the werewolves spreading those evil rumors about me out of my pack.

Due to that, every outsider belonging to other packs left my pack because fear had already been implanted in their hearts.

What surprised me back then was when some of my subjects believed the rumors. Because they didn’t see what happened that night, they chose to believe that I was a murderer who ruthlessly murdered my own family, the Lycans and some werewolves, because I wanted to be the strongest.

They were causing havoc and confusion in my pack, so I had all of them banished as they refused to believe a word coming out of my mouth.

After being banished, they became rogue werewolves.

The rumors about me being a murderer eventually came to an end, but the damage had already been done.

Everyone outside my pack feared me and excluded me from every activity.

Since everyone thought of me as ruthless and evil, I gradually became what they thought of me.

That was until I met her.

The so-called brainless Luna of the shadows’ pack.

I had heard about her before as I had left my pack countless times.

Additionally, my pack has advanced technology like cell phones and others. We had to create our own model, as the world was afraid of me and my pack.

I became interested in her, shocking myself, as I had never been interested in someone or something before.

I began to watch her closely.

In the shadows, I watched most of her movements. Indeed, it felt like she had become a totally different person. She was different from what I had heard and seen about her.

I was present during her pack’s social event.

I was also present during the hunting competition and saw the way she took down those wild beasts using something like an explosive ball that produces an outburst of air after it exploded.

I understood that the air was deadly, so I dared not inhale it.

Actually, no one was able to sense my presence because I was able to completely conceal my scent and my presence. Whatever you call it.

Lycans like myself can easily hide our presence and no one will be able to sense us.

But I don’t understand how she was suddenly able to sense my presence. It is still a mystery to me.

Also, what was with that tiny egg I saw her with when she was in the wild forest during the hunting competition?

I haven’t figured it out. But I remembered smiling when I saw her struggle to get rid of the tiny egg.

I was shocked because that was the first time ever a smile appeared on my face after that tragic and strange incident which happened 20 years ago.

I became more interested in her. Later, I felt what I had heard about but had never experienced myself.

My heart pounded fast against my chest, and it felt like it skipped a beat.

And her scent was as sweet as honey.

Then, I knew she was my fated mate.

I cared nothing about Alpha Dylan, who was once her mate, but had rejected her. All I cared about was that I needed her by my side as my mate and my wife.

I felt the urge to take her away and protect her. I felt emotions I had never felt before.

After seeing her face to face again after two months, I almost could not control myself. I had to return to my pack as I needed to calm down and think clearly.

I noticed that she was hostile towards me and feared me. I feel afraid and hurt for an unknown reason.

I don’t want her to hate me.
