Mr Bodyguard, Protect Your Heart!-Chapter 179: FEELS ABNORMALLY NORMAL
She did not want to tell him, saying that, it also did not mean in a negative way.
After all, she had personally previously told him about the relationship dynamics she had with different members of her family. And what Dove knew with all honesty in her heart, is that right now, when her mind was also jumbled up, she really did have this very strong urge to pour the confusion out of her heart, the moment he asked about it.
But them she halted! She stopped herself! Why? Because hadn’t she until half an hour ago making her mind to keep personal distance from him? And she would take hold of her heart? Because one thing that Dove was coming to realise was that, the more she was sharing about herself, the more comfortable she was getting around him, the more she was losing her heart to him. And she couldn’t risk that since everything about it did not seem very favourable to her!
She did not want herself to get involved in a one sided love, that would wreck her heart when he does not reciprocate the same feelings for her. So she did not want to tell him. Specially when she knew that, Dante being himself, she would definitely come up with something that she most probably would like to hear, and then again as usual she would be stupidly charmed by him. And Dove did not at all wanted that.
She smacked her lips a little, before breathing out and said, "Did I not tell you just now, Dante, that is nothing? Nothing to huge to be heard by all." And saying that curtly, she went quiet and then silently stared out of the window. Dove could feel Dante’s gaze on her, and honestly to pricked her heart. It honestly feels so rude on her part to speak so rudely to him, specially when he was being so gentlemanly concerned.
Humph! She needs to do this now. Better to be safe than sorry later if she doesn’t hold on to her emotions and then the situation that would result in.
Meanwhile, Dante looked at Dove through the rear view mirror, with his lips pressed in a straight line. He felt his heart somewhat fall into a pit when he heard her slightly strict tone towards him, as if telling him to stay away from her personal space. He was not liking it.
Taking a deep breath, and thinking about it, he came to the conclusion that, one, the matter that the two of them had discussed about must have been something really big of a matter, that she must be very much stressed about it. Or secondly, she must be simply wanting to keep a distance from him.
And now that Dante thought about it, the first option felt doubtable since Dove had shared many things about her family, even the truth about her pregnancy, that the others did not know nothing about. But she told him about it. They had even discussed about the big projects, that he had helped her with, that was probably supposed to be confidential.
But even the second option did not feel very understanding to Dante, because why would Dove all of a sudden want ignore him. What ha he done so wrong to her for her to want that? Did he make any mistake in unawareness? He lamented. Dante’s eyebrows drew together, and he felt very uneasy thinking about it.
And though, Dante tried to ignore it, giving it an excuse that, he must be just overthinking, but a part of his intuition was telling him otherwise. Specially, when he recounted everything that happened today. But the unfortunate was that, he was not able to properly pin point what exactly was wrong that he did.
So, with no one feeling great in this situation, except for Gavi who was sleeping soundly, the car drove to the Sterling Mansion. When they reached the mansion, Dante helped Dove carry Gavi out of the car, and volunteered to carry Gavi to his room, which Dove did not refuse. And after Dante carried the sleeping little boy to his room, and then tucking him in his bed properly, the two of them left his room. Dove turned towards Dante, and with a smile thanked him for the help, and after biding him a good night, and telling him to rest well, she turned and left towards her room, leaving Dante standing behind there.
Dante stood there, his eyebrows drawn together, and eyes shining in worry and confusion, as he stared at her back. "Something is definitely not right about it. Did I perhaps do something wrong without realising? Or.." Dante’s words drawled, as his eyes glinted dangerously, "Did that Noah fill Dove’s ears with something against me?"
But the latter did not feel much convincing, since if Noah would be acting anything against him, then Dante would be the first one to know. Also, Dove was not the type to believe and act on it, if someone says any kind of rumour.
Dante sighed before rubbing his hands on his face, felt utterly bitter. And after a while, he too felt for his own room.
Dove and Dante had their individual duty every night to pay a visit to Senior Sterling before bed, since the old man would retire to his room early due to his health.
And it also so happened that when Dante was about to enter Senior Sterling’s room, Dove walked out of the same, and the two almost collided against each other. Holding each other’s gaze, time seemed to have frozen for a moment, before Dove was to move the first. She gave him a small, curt smile, before walking away from the side.
While, Dante stood still there, looking downwards. Everything feels abnormally normal between us. She is not ignoring me. She is smiling at me. She is talking to me. But this is still not how I feel is right, and should be between us.
