Mr. CEO, You Look Strangely Familiar-Chapter 15: He Must Be Very Unfeeling
The store manager rejected her outright. "I’m sorry, but the wedding dresses in the VIP section cannot be sold without our owner’s permission."
"Not for any price?"
"That’s correct. Please take it off immediately, miss."
Maeve Sutton’s expression soured. "Then can I at least take a photo in it?"
The manager remained firm. "Miss, please don’t make things difficult for us. If you wish to have photos taken, you can select a dress from the regular section. This area requires a prior appointment and the owner’s approval. All the gowns in the VIP section are one-of-a-kind pieces, personally designed by famous designers from around the world."
"Then can I just wear it for two minutes? Is that alright?"
The manager hesitated. "Well..."
She subconsciously glanced at Quentin Grant, but seeing no reaction from him, the manager had no choice but to say, "Alright, then. But only for two minutes."
Maeve Sutton gathered the skirt of her gown and stood next to Leon Lynch. "Can you take a photo with me?"
A slight smile touched Leon Lynch’s lips. "Since you’re my fiancée’s friend, what’s the harm in a single photo? However, do you really think this is an appropriate time and place for that?"
Maeve Sutton clenched her fists. ’He doesn’t recognize me, but I’ve always remembered him. I’ve never forgotten.’
’It’s just that, in all these years, I’ve never gotten close to him, let alone had the chance to meet him properly.’
’I thought I’d finally have my chance after he broke up with his girlfriend, but I never imagined Nora Sullivan would beat me to it.’
Maeve Sutton felt a bitter pang of jealousy. Her plan was to take a photo with Leon Lynch. Since they were both in formal attire, if she posted it online, people might assume they were the ones getting married. The Lynch Family was extremely concerned with its reputation; perhaps they would even swap out the bride at the last minute.
But she never thought he would turn her down so firmly.
’He must be a cold-hearted man.’
The manager walked up to her. "Miss, please change out of the gown now."
Maeve Sutton turned and walked to the changing room. By the time she came out again, the other four had already gone to the photography studio.
She stood in the doorway, watching Leon Lynch’s arm wrapped around Nora Ainsworth’s waist, a faint smile on his face. The sight was a painful eyesore.
The group didn’t do any outdoor shots, opting to take a few photos inside the studio. When they emerged after changing, they found Maeve Sutton still sitting on the sofa, waiting for them.
Nora Ainsworth knew what Maeve was thinking. "Maeve, we’re about to leave. Do you want to come with us?"
Maeve’s expression was perfectly composed. "You’ve been shooting all afternoon. Nora, you all must be hungry, right? I’m starving. Why don’t we all go grab a bite to eat?"
’I know she’s doing this on purpose,’ Nora thought, ’but I can’t really say no.’
Nora Ainsworth looked at the other three. "Should we go?"
Leon Lynch smiled. "If you want to go, we’ll go."
A flicker of jealousy crossed Maeve Sutton’s eyes, but all she could do was silently fume.
Although Sharon Ainsworth didn’t want to hang out with Maeve Sutton, the thought of spending more time with Quentin Grant kept her from objecting.

「The car pulled up in front of a Western-style restaurant.」
The group got out of the car and took a table by the window.
They each ordered steak. Just as Nora Ainsworth was about to dig in, Leon Lynch pulled her plate in front of him. He carefully cut her steak into pieces before placing the plate back in front of her, his expression full of warmth. "Go on, eat."
Nora Ainsworth glanced up and saw Maeve Sutton glaring at her. Quentin Grant simply shot her a deep look before returning to his meal in a slow, deliberate manner.
She pouted slightly, then asked, "Leon, what do you think of Maeve?"
Maeve Sutton watched him, her eyes filled with anticipation. Without looking up, Leon Lynch replied, "She seems nice enough."
A smile spread across Nora Ainsworth’s lips. "She doesn’t have a boyfriend, you know."
Leon Lynch finally looked at her. "Are you trying to get me to introduce her to someone?"
