Chapter 280: Chapter 280: Call Me, Daddy First

Earlier, when Camille spoke to Chantelle, she kept her composure and acted gently. But the moment Kane and Railer made their comments, her expression twisted in an instant. It was exactly like a mask changing in one of those street performers.

And with her overly colorful makeup, what Railer had said actually made sense.

Some people nearby couldn’t help but laugh.

"Who is this woman? Chasing Mr. Wilson while looking like that? My eyes stung just seeing her around."

"You’re right. She looks like a clown next to Mrs. Wilson."

"Now that I think about what she said, she really sounded like a bitch."

Camille heard the whispers around her, and her anger nearly exploded.

"Ms. Chantelle, do you even know how to raise your kids? Maybe I should teach them myself!" she gritted her teeth and tried to reach Kane and Railer’s arms.

But Chantelle grabbed Camille’s wrist as she gave her a cold look. "Camille, if you even try to lay a hand on my kids, you’ll regret it."

"They’re the rude ones!" Camille shouted. "Just look at them. They don’t act like children of someone like Daniel. They don’t even—"

It was too late to take back her words when she realized Daniel was standing in front of them.

But Camille was too angry to back down. She raised her leg and wanted to kick Kane.

The moment she lifted her right leg, she lost balance. She couldn’t feel her left leg and ended up falling to the ground.

Just then, a waiter walked by with a tray of mushroom soup. Camille fell right into him, and the soup spilled all over her.

"Oh my God! I’m going to kill you!" Camille completely lost her composure. Ever since she ran into Chantelle and her three kids, everything in her day had gone downhill.

Daniel was still talking business with Rowan. He noticed Camille and Chantelle talking to each other but didn’t pay attention to what was going on.

When Daniel saw Camille fall, he quickly pulled Chantelle into his arms to keep the soup from spilling on her.

Rowan stood there, completely stunned. He couldn’t move as he watched the scene.

Camille was making a fool of herself again. It was becoming a daily habit.

"Daniel, Chantelle pushed me on purpose!" Camille screamed, pretending to be the victim.

But Daniel didn’t even glance at her. He looked at Chantelle instead and asked, "Are you okay?"

Chantelle shook her head. If it weren’t for Rowan, she would’ve kicked Camille out of Easthan a long time ago.

It wasn’t because she hated her. Camille was just exhausting. Like a fly that wouldn’t stop buzzing around.

"Camille, stop talking nonsense," Rowan said as he helped her up.

Camille looked at him, obviously offended. "Ro, how can you take her side too? What did she do to all of you? Why does everyone always listen to her?"

"Mr. Wilson, I’m sorry for the mess we caused," Rowan said quickly. "I’ll take Camille home now."

No matter how tough Rowan was, he knew it was time to leave. He couldn’t bring himself to stay any longer, even though he still wanted to figure out the truth about Chantelle and her daughter.

Back when he was in Carcosa, people always came to him asking for favors or inviting him to meals.

This was the first time he had to ask someone else for a favor, and it already felt beneath him. Camille only made things worse by causing a scene, making him completely embarrassed.

"I’m not leaving!" Camille shouted. "Ro, I barely get to see Daniel. I have to tell him who Chantelle really is!"

She tried to stand up, refusing to move no matter how hard Rowan pulled her.

As they kept struggling with each other, a small crowd began to gather around them. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

The restaurant manager came out and politely asked them to leave so they wouldn’t disturb the other guests.

Rowan had never felt so humiliated in his life. But no matter what, Camille was still his sister. They grew up together. He couldn’t lose his temper at her, so he had no choice but to get her out of there as fast as possible.

But Camille refused to leave. She had her own plan.

She only lost control earlier because she was angry at Chantelle’s kids.

"Daniel, I feel so sticky and uncomfortable now," Camille said, switching back to her pitiful act. "Can you get me a change of clothes, please?"

Rowan didn’t bring any bodyguards with him that day, so he had no choice but to go buy the clothes himself.

But that meant leaving Camille alone, and Rowan didn’t feel comfortable doing that.

"Mr. Wilson, can you—"

"No. I can’t help you," Daniel said flatly, cutting him off. He walked into the private room with Chantelle in his arms.

Rowan felt embarrassed after hearing Daniel’s words.

The three kids followed right behind Daniel and Chantelle without looking back.

Stephanie turned around and saw Rowan’s disappointed face. She grabbed Chantelle’s shirt and said, "Mommy, I feel bad for Uncle Rowan."

"What do you plan to do about it?" Chantelle asked. She really felt bad for Rowan. Camille’s actions didn’t change how she felt about him.

"Maybe we can invite him to eat with us."

Chantelle noticed the sparkle in Stephanie’s eyes. It meant she was definitely up to something. But Chantelle didn’t scold her. She simply nodded toward Daniel.

"Hey! I want to invite Uncle Rowan to eat with us! He helped me before!" Stephanie shouted at Daniel.

When Daniel heard Stephanie showing sympathy toward Rowan, he felt a little jealous. She was now staring straight at him, asking for permission, still acting bold. That made Daniel feel both amused and challenged.

"Who are you calling?" he asked in a teasing tone.

"Of course, I’m calling you," Stephanie said as her cheeks puffed out. Her expression clearly said, Are you serious? Isn’t it obvious?

"I have a proper name, you know," Daniel replied softly. "How about you call me daddy first, and maybe I’ll let them join us for lunch."

Stephanie looked over at Chantelle, hoping for help. But Chantelle just shrugged and held her hands up, leaving the choice to Stephanie.

"Steph, daddy’s a softie," Kane said. "If you call him daddy, he’ll agree to anything. You like him too, right? Once you do, he’ll always listen to you."

Daniel gave Kane a quick look, and Kane knew he had to help out.

"Daddy loves you a lot," Railer added, catching Daniel’s gesture. "He’ll say yes to anything you want."
