Chapter 282: Chapter 282: Go Find Daniel

Chantelle and Jude were about to follow, but Camille had just bumped into a woman near the doorway. She ended up staining the woman’s skirt.

The woman and her friends crowded around the entrance, blocking the way and refusing to let anyone leave the room.

Chantelle could tell something was wrong. She grabbed the steak knife from the table and pressed it against the man’s neck.

"Move, or you might not leave here alive," she warned fiercely.

"What do you think you’re doing? Planning to commit a crime in broad daylight?" the man retorted, but his voice was trembling. He was clearly scared by Chantelle’s sudden move.

Chantelle pressed the knife harder. The tip touched his skin, just enough to sting. The man flinched and stumbled back.

"Just you wait!" he shouted, trying to act angry.

Then he turned around and bolted away.

The others saw him bolted away and they got panicked. None of them wanted to offend Chantelle who was holding a knife. They all ran away without looking back.

Once the entrance cleared, Chantelle looked around and suddenly realized that Camille was gone.

"Go find Daniel," Chantelle told Jude, then rushed off with the kids.

Jude had a bad feeling. It felt like someone was trying to hurt Daniel. He called Ashton while searching for Daniel with Shiela.

Chantelle followed the signs toward the washroom. But the farther she went, the more distracted she felt. Something was really strange.

Just as she reached the end of the hallway, someone suddenly grabbed Stephanie and pulled her into a nearby room.

Chantelle kicked the door open and stormed inside.

The moment Chantelle entered the room, someone threw a strange powder in her face.

She tried to hold her breath quickly, but it was already too late. She managed to grab Stephanie’s arm, who had fainted, but then her legs gave out. She suddenly collapsed at the door.

"Hey, looks like we got ourselves a real beauty," one of the men said, grinning.

A few sleazy-looking men started walking toward her.

They didn’t see it coming. Chantelle suddenly jumped up from the floor, did a backflip, and kicked two of them without warning.

Just seconds ago, she had looked like she was about to pass out.

"You crazy bitch! Think you’re tough? Get her!" the leader yelled after she kicked him in the chin.

Blood dripped from his mouth. Some of his teeth were gone. He roared in anger and told the others to attack her.

"That’s all you’ve got? Camille really underestimated me," Chantelle said.

Chantelle fends them down swiftly. She got to her feet and turned to leave.

"Don’t move! Or I’ll slit her throat!" one of the men shouted.

He held a knife to Stephanie’s neck. She was still unconscious.

"Whose neck do you think you’re trying to cut?" Stephanie suddenly opened her eyes. She even made a face at the guy. He was so shocked and he nearly fell to the floor.

Before he could do anything, Stephanie pressed a button on her bracelet. A fake blade popped out. In a flash, she slipped behind him and held him at knifepoint.

But she didn’t cut him. The blade was coated with a knockout drug. Just a tiny bit was enough to knock someone out for hours.

"Miss Spiky Hair went through all that trouble to set this up, and this is the best she could do?" Stephanie said as she kicked the guy now lying on the floor. Her face showed nothing but disgust.

Truth was, the moment Camille forced herself to sit at their table earlier, Chantelle already knew something wasn’t right.

But Chantelle didn’t want to take any chances. The kids were with her, so she chose to stay alert and avoid any conflict.

Stephanie, on the other hand, had sharp instincts. She could tell Camille was up to something the moment she tried to join their meal. Stephanie saw it as the perfect chance to expose her in front of everyone.

It was a good moment to show Daniel what kind of person Camille really was.

So, the mother and daughter just sat back and watched things unfold.

When Daniel bumped into the waiter and got splashed with hot water, they were both a little surprised.

Didn’t Camille say she cared for Daniel so much? Why would she let him get hurt?

Actually, the waiter had planned to spill wine on Daniel, not hot water. The idea was to get him to leave the table and change clothes.

He didn’t expect Daniel to throw himself in front of the hot water to protect Stephanie.

Still, the plan worked. Daniel and Chantelle were now separated.

Right after that, the restaurant manager came in and kicked the waiter out of the private room. This made Kane suspicious. He silently slipped out to follow the guy. Railer, worried about Kane, followed too.

Chantelle began to worry about her sons. She planned to leave with Stephanie after dealing with the gangsters.

But to her surprise, the door wouldn’t open. It was tightly shut.

Chantelle tried everything she could, but the door wouldn’t budge. It was solid, like it was made of stone.

She looked at it carefully and realized it had been specially reinforced. Once it was locked, there was no way to open it. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

Her heart sank. Something felt terribly wrong.

Suddenly, her vision started to blur. Her eyes felt heavy like she was about to pass out.

It was the worst timing for her illness to kick in.

She wished it had happened at any other time, just not now.

As she muttered curses at Lone Wolf, the one who injected her with the drug, she kept looking for a way out.

Stephanie tried to get a signal on the phones, but to her dismay, neither her toy phone nor Chantelle’s phone had any signal.

"Mommy, are you okay?" she asked, noticing that Chantelle’s eyes were barely open. She stopped hovering with the phones and quickly helped her sit on the sofa.

Before Chantelle could respond, a strange smell filled the air. She looked around and saw thick smoke rising from all four corners of the room.

"Steph, get your gas mask!" she said urgently.

Stephanie always carried her backpack. It had all sorts of emergency tools inside and she was sure the gas mask was in there.

After putting on her gas mask, Stephanie dipped a handkerchief into the water on the table. She quickly pressed it over Chantelle’s nose and mouth to help her breathe.
