Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback-Chapter 351: You Found Your Daddy?
Chapter 351: Chapter 351: You Found Your Daddy?
Kane looked at him and quickly corrected him, "He’s our godfather."
"He’s not my godfather," Railer pouted, clearly not agreeing.
"But we’re triplets, so we should have the same godfather," Kane argued back.
"What are you doing here? You’ll bring bad luck to my son again! Get out! Leave now!" Emelia suddenly shouted. She started pushing them, trying to force them out of the ward.
The three of them looked at each other. They realized her condition was worse than they thought, so they stepped aside.
Thankfully, the doctor came back with Xander just in time. He was conscious when they wheeled him in.
"You can’t see him! Leave now!" Emelia shouted, twisting around in her wheelchair with such force that she nearly toppled over in her effort to make the kids leave.
Emelia’s mind was blurry, but one thing stood out clearly, she believed Chantelle and the kids would bring bad luck to Xander. Someone must have planted that thought in her head.
Xander, still lying in bed, saw his mother falling. He panicked and wanted to help, but his body had been in a coma for too long. He couldn’t move at all.
The machine next to him started beeping loudly. His vitals were out of control.
The whole wardroom went into chaos.
Kane rushed forward to help Emelia, but Railer stopped him. "We should leave first," he said.
Stephanie agreed, and they pulled Kane out of the ward.
Ten minutes later, Rihan arrived and took them all back to their villa. Not long after, Chantelle came home.
After hearing what happened to Xander, she decided to go see him on her own.
"Mommy, Auntie Emelia’s not well. They’re strapping her to the wheelchair. You have to be careful," Stephanie warned her.
Chantelle nodded, then quickly headed out of the villa.
But Chantelle didn’t make it to the hospital in time. She ran into trouble on the way.
At a red light, the cars in front of her weren’t moving. The drivers seemed to be arguing. Then, out of nowhere, one of them pulled out a gun and shot the other in the head.
A man in the passenger seat of the car that had just been attacked quickly jumped out, and he was being chased by the attacker.
The light was about to turn green, and Chantelle was tense. Her heart was pounding as she tapped nervously on the steering wheel.
Suddenly, her car door was yanked open, and a man covered in blood climbed inside.
He gave her a crooked smile. "Pretty lady, long time no see."
He winked, and a drop of blood from his brow dripped into his eye.
"Pretty lady, if you don’t drive now, you’re coming with me to the underworld."
Chantelle saw that Lone Wolf was bleeding from his abdomen.
The man chasing him was now aiming his gun at her car.
Her heart jumped, and she slammed her foot on the gas, swerving the car sharply.
After speeding down the highway for a while, she noticed the fuel gauge was almost empty. She pulled into a gas station.
As she filled up a gas can, she kept looking around to check for any signs of danger.
Meanwhile, Lone Wolf was leaning out of the window, looking completely unbothered, as if no one had been chasing him at all.
"You’ve got guts, saving someone like me," Lone Wolf gave her a wide smile.
"Is it too late to throw you out now?" Chantelle shot back, rolling her eyes.
Lone Wolf clutched his chest dramatically. "Pretty lady, can’t you be nicer to me? You don’t talk to Mr. Wilson like this."
Chantelle didn’t respond. She just reached over to help him. fгeewebnovёl.com
Lone Wolf let out a laugh, but it only made his pain worse. His wound throbbed, and he winced in agony.
"I didn’t bring much with me. I was in a hurry," Lone Wolf said. "I’ll make it up to you next time."
"I’ll remember what you said today. You owe me your life. That’s not something you can repay with just anything."
"Pretty lady, you should learn to be kinder," he said with a faint smile. "You’re supposed to do good without expecting anything in return."
His smile didn’t reach his eyes. They were cloudy and hard to read. He was obviously hiding whatever he was really thinking.
But Chantelle didn’t care. She saved him, so he owed her. She wasn’t the type to do favors for free.
"Be kind? If I lived like that, I’d be buried under that dirt by now," Chantelle said with a laugh, pointing at the ground. She drove toward a villa on the outskirts.
She had wanted to take Lone Wolf to the hospital, but he refused.
It was probably for the best. A man like him couldn’t just show up at a hospital. He’d cause chaos and bring more trouble.
When she parked and opened the passenger door, she saw that Lone Wolf had passed out.
She thought to herself, You really trust me that much? Aren’t you scared I might sell you out?
Chantelle briefly paused, thinking about it.
If she really did sell Lone Wolf out, not only could she make some money, but life in Carcosa would also be much quieter.
She sighed and patted his face. In the end, she gave in and carried him into the villa. Then she dropped him onto the bed.
"Pretty lady, can’t you be a little more gentle?" Lone Wolf murmured. He lay there weakly, his body covered in blood, and somehow, he looked oddly captivating.
Chantelle jumped in surprise. She thought he had passed out, and she had even been thinking about selling him out.
"So, you’re awake?" she said with a dry laugh.
"Of course I am. I have to stay awake, no matter how hard it is," Lone Wolf replied. "Otherwise, someone might decide to sell me out, right, pretty lady?"
He raised an eyebrow at her. It was clear he knew exactly what had been on her mind.
"The doctor’s here. Lie down," Chantelle said. She had called someone she trusted.
When she brought the doctor inside, Lone Wolf was already lying in bed, wearing a mask and sunglasses. No one could tell if his eyes were open.
But Chantelle had a feeling he was watching everything.
He had lost a lot of blood after being shot, and the bleeding hadn’t stopped. The doctor started giving him a blood transfusion while removing the bullets.
Chantelle stood by and watched them carefully. Just when she felt like she couldn’t take it anymore, the surgery had been completed.
