Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride-Chapter 273 - 269, just follow me.
Chapter 273: 269, just follow me.
Caught in a moment of distraction, her hand felt a warmth; it was Wesley Foley’s hand tightly grasping hers, gently wrapping around it, leading her down the steps in front of the hotel.
Instinctively, Titus Zane turned her gaze to look at the man beside her, gentle and elegant as fine jade.
His palm was warm, not as hard as other men’s, like an artist’s hand—soft and delicate, matching the smile on his face at this moment.
"You’re beautiful." Under the night sky, three simple words spilled from Wesley’s slightly parted lips, soft like the wind, tantalizing to the point of restlessness.
There was an illusion of falling in love, similar to the sweetness she felt years ago when she officially started dating Logan Ray. Yet, this time, the "romance" had a certain purpose behind it.
"Thank you," Titus Zane curved her lips, with a fitting degree of arc—neither flustered nor overly excited, as if everything was just so natural.
With Wesley holding her hand, they walked together to the sports car. He opened the door for her and with one hand protectively above, gallantly helping her into the car.
Wesley also walked around to the driver’s side with a gentlemanly pace, showing no sign of haste.
"Where are we going?" Titus Zane asked, buckling her seatbelt and turning her eyes towards him.
Looking at her, the corners of Wesley’s lips perpetually held a warm curve.
"Just follow me," he said.
Those five words felt like a promise, warming her heart upon hearing them.
Suddenly, Titus Zane recalled that it had been many years since she’d last been in love. Perhaps she should take this opportunity to have a "grand and passionate" romance.
Wesley drove her to stop in front of a restaurant.
He got out of the car first, then went around to the passenger side again with considerate gentleness, escorting Titus Zane out. He took her hand and quite naturally yet dominantly looped it through his arm.
Titus Zane tilted her head playfully and asked, "Are you always this domineering with women?"
Turning his gaze, warmth filled Wesley’s phoenix eyes.
"Only with you."
"Heh!" Titus Zane laughed, even her mocking had an inadvertent allure, "What a master of the love game!"
"I’m serious." ƒгeewebnovёl_com
Looking at Titus Zane, Wesley’s phoenix eyes were earnest, matching his expression now.
Titus pursed her lips, slightly haughty as she said, "I’ll believe you for a moment."
"Why just a moment?" Wesley frowned, puzzled. Titus Zane smiled and said, "If I say I don’t trust you at all, would you leave me here?"
"Yes," was the one word he replied with, carrying a teasing tone. Titus Zane raised her eyebrows again, elongating her words, "So, I can only believe you for a moment. After supper and you drop me off at the hotel, I won’t believe."
"Dare you!" His one-word reply was filled with obvious indulgence.
Suddenly, Titus Zane realized that actually, this man in front of her was really not bad; in fact, she could try having a real romance with him...
Titus Zane never knew that Wesley Foley could be so romantic.
Red wine, steak, candles, roses, and to her surprise, there was even a violin!
Truth be told, she didn’t believe in love at first sight.
Because her first love flowed gently like a stream, everything naturally falling into place.
So, regarding the man before her, she began to harbor some doubts; was he indifferent to women, or a master at flirting?
"Not eating? Is just looking at me filling enough for you?" Wesley lifted his eyes to look at her, his teasing words always so pleasant to hear.
Putting down the cutlery in her hands, she picked up the red wine and took a light sip, her eyes brimming with warmth.
Titus Zane also placed down her cutlery, resting her head in her hand, looking at him. The arc of her lips seemed somewhat nonchalant.
"Do you often take women to candlelit dinners?"
