Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 440 - 439: Two Choices
Those disgusting words, even Claire Sullivan couldn’t bear them, let alone Serena Sullivan!
Claire’s eyes reddened; she truly hated herself for being so blind back then, for being fooled by someone like Joel Quinn.
That evening, after finishing her tasks, she returned home early and saw Serena running towards her in panic.
And then... what did she do?
She heard Zoe Quinn’s cries of pain, heard Joel Quinn’s explanation, and raised her hand towards Serena Sullivan’s face...
"Upon hearing you come back, I pushed Zoe Quinn, and she just rolled down the stairs like that."
"Zoe told you that Serena pushed her, and you believed it; you even slapped Serena!"
"That slap really satisfied me!" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
At this point, Joel Quinn laughed again, shaking the knife in his hand, which trembled near Serena’s neck.
"Joel Quinn!"
After clearly hearing what Joel Quinn said, Claire Sullivan shouted sternly, glaring at him with hatred, "Why did you harm Serena!"
Why was she so foolish at that time, not believing her own daughter!
If she had believed and protected Serena then, if she’d just directly kicked Joel Quinn’s father and daughter out, how would Serena have gotten into a car accident! How would she have ended up like this now!
It’s her fault, all her fault!
"I’ve never treated you poorly!" She stared at the knife in Joel Quinn’s hand, speaking evenly.
Except for one matter where she had wronged Joel Quinn, what hadn’t she given him, what need hadn’t she fulfilled!
"Hahaha!"
Claire’s words made Joel Quinn laugh, "How have you treated me well, Claire Sullivan? You clearly treated me like a servant."
"All these years, you married me, have you let me touch you even once?"
Joel Quinn’s sudden words left Serena stunned.
She turned her head, looking at Claire in disbelief.
Joel Quinn said such things in front of his daughter, and Claire felt embarrassed.
"To outsiders, you treated me well, letting me into The Sullivan Corporation, giving me shares, but in reality, you never treated me as a husband!"
Initially, he hid his relationship with Ruth Hale, marrying Claire Sullivan with sincere intentions to live a good life.
Having a beautiful wife and a company, he was content.
However, that wretched Claire pretended to be a saint; on the wedding day, she played piano all night in the room. The next day, and the day after, she kicked him off the bed, saying she had a mental illness and physically couldn’t accept men.
He thought she really was sick and patiently treated her better.
Hoping that someday, this woman would accept him.
Day after day passed; except for showing intimacy in front of outsiders, once in the room, she changed her face, not only refusing him his bed but even made a separate room to sleep in.
This sleeping arrangement lasted until he was kicked out of The Sullivan Residence.
"Claire Sullivan, you didn’t graduate from college and got pregnant outside, gave birth in Solaria to a daughter of unknown origin."
"Before marrying me, you had been taken advantage of by numerous men at banquets, not to mention your ambiguous relations with married men."
These words were spoken by the wealthy women of Solaria behind Claire’s back.
Claire returned with a big belly, causing The Sullivan Family’s reputation to suffer greatly. Initially, Mr. Sullivan and Madam Sullivan couldn’t accept that the daughter they had raised carefully had done such disgraceful deeds, and they gave Claire two choices.
One was to abort the child; the other was to leave The Sullivan Family.
