Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 494 - 493: Just an Illegitimate Daughter
The conversation reached this point, and First Mrs. Sterling suspected the old man was telling the truth. Ignoring the servants present, she pulled James Sterling’s ear and left.
James and his wife argued loudly as they reached the front door and encountered Simon Sterling and two others.
It was spring at The Sterling Family home, surrounded by flower gardens. Simon Sterling, in a black suit, walked over, his stern face causing the nearby maid to blush.
The Master of The Sterling Family, though aged, still captures everyone’s hearts.
However, some noticed that compared to before, Mr. Sterling seemed colder and thinner.
His eyes, indifferent, in the warm spring day, somehow added a chill to the atmosphere.
"Big Brother, Sister-in-law."
"Uncle, Aunt."
Simon Sterling and Felicity Sterling greeted James Sterling.
First Mrs. Sterling released James’s ear upon seeing them.
"Simon," James Sterling pleaded to Simon, "ask Dad when did I get a love child!"
He felt truly wronged, as unjustly treated as Dou’e.
"When you were young,"
First Mrs. Sterling said angrily.
"I have no interest in dealing with such matters," Simon answered indifferently and stepped forward toward the main house entrance.
June Kane gave a gentle smile to James and his wife, but as she turned, the smile vanished, replaced by a look of disdain.
Felicity Sterling walked behind them.
"See, even Simon doesn’t believe you."
First Mrs. Sterling became angrier and continued pulling James’s ear as they went out.
Their argument faded as Simon and June along with Felicity ascended the steps. As usual, June Kane and Felicity Sterling stayed in the hall while Simon alone went to see the old man.
The old man knew his youngest son’s family had arrived, and he sat at the head of the table, watching Simon approach.
"Where’s Wyatt?"
The old man first inquired about Wyatt Sterling.
Back then, Simon Sterling brought his son back and directly handed him to the old man to raise. Wyatt was raised single-handedly by the old man and his wife.
"He’s handling a project."
Ethan Grant fiercely kept eyes on The Sterling Family, leaving Wyatt to handle it.
"Alright," the old man replied, "You should take a break and let Wyatt handle things."
Simon did not respond, sitting to the old man’s right, he picked up his tea and drank slowly.
The sunlight came in, casting light on Simon’s hair.
"I plan to organize a banquet."
"For Big Brother’s daughter?" Simon raised his head, looking at the old man, and asked.
He easily guessed the old man’s purpose for organizing the banquet. Those sharp cold eyes reminded the old man of Serena Sullivan.
"Yes!"
"She’s a daughter of The Sterling Family; we can’t let her feel wronged."
The old man spoke again, looking at Simon Sterling.
"A love child, is it necessary to throw a big party, Dad?" Simon Sterling sneered, his tone icy, causing someone inside to smash their water cup.
Simon heard the noise and turned to look inside.
The old man knew Serena Sullivan inside heard what Simon said and thought Serena said Simon wouldn’t acknowledge her, hence the noise, "She’s your big brother’s biological child, nothing shameful."
"Simon, entrust the banquet affairs to you and your wife."
The old man said calmly.
Father and son had been at odds for many years, unclear who it was for or what the reason was! Only remembered that twenty years ago, after Simon married June Kane, everything changed.
Simon looked at the old man, wanted to say something, but held back.
"Alright!"
After a while, he responded with one word.
"Make sure it’s done well."
As he stood up and left, the old man instructed in a steady voice.
