Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 497 - 496: It’s Good That You’re Okay
"You’ll know how much I’ve missed you when you come back!"
Finn Chandler was so immersed in his conversation with Julian Ford that he didn’t notice Serena Sullivan had already arrived.
After some playful banter with Julian, Finn felt much of the tension in her heart dissipate, and she couldn’t help but plant a playful kiss on her phone.
"Miss me!"
Reluctantly hanging up, Finn turned around with a smile on her face, but it froze instantly when she saw Serena in the room.
"Ahem!"
Finn put her phone away, realizing that Serena had heard everything she had just said, and she blushed.
"Serena!"
She snapped out of it and quickly walked over to Serena, "It’s so good to see you’re okay!"
Finn crouched down in front of Serena, and as she held Serena’s hand, her eyes reddened.
Didn’t she know how close they were to breaking down?
"Yes."
Seeing Finn’s tears, Serena had many questions in her heart as she spoke.
From a young age, Finn was raised like a boy to endure the upheavals of The Chambers Family, weathering all storms to bring the family into her hands. Such a person, like many who hold power in high society, didn’t show emotions easily and wouldn’t cry like Anna Morgan.
Finn cried!
Serena smiled; this was a wonderful change.
"If Anna were here and saw you crying, she’d find it strange!"
Serena smiled, and Finn realized how she had let her emotions show!
She could even feel her own changes over the past month.
"Yes."
Finn shyly lowered her head, stood up, and pushed Serena to the table.
"Has the blood clot in your brain healed?"
It was a head surgery, and Serena had her hair shaved where the craniotomy was needed. Because it looked too ugly, she decided to cut it all.
In three months, new hair had grown, but Serena usually wore a hat.
"I think so!"
Serena smiled.
Hearing Serena’s answer, Finn took a deep breath, "That’s great!"
She was really afraid that Serena wouldn’t be in this world anymore.
For the three months after Serena’s accident, she would wake up every night from nightmares, blaming herself for accidentally losing Serena.
After being with Julian Ford, the nightmares were significantly reduced at night.
"Serena, what exactly is your relationship with The Sterling Family?"
Serena had her accident on The Sterling Family’s private island, and it was Mr. Sterling who rescued her.
Finn instinctively felt there was some relationship between Serena and The Sterling Family.
Serena didn’t plan to hide it from Finn. She held the glass of water in front of her, drinking casually as she said, "Simon Sterling is my biological father."
"What!"
Finn thought she had misheard. How could Serena be Simon Sterling’s daughter!
Simon Sterling married the heiress of The Ford Family, and their union was considered a beautiful story in the Imperial Capital at the time. Over the years, everyone has spoken of Mr. Sterling and Mrs. Sterling as having a loving and perfect marriage.
Serena is Simon Sterling’s daughter? So did Simon have something with Claire Sullivan, or did The Sterling Family accidentally lose Serena?
Finn was more inclined to believe the second possibility because, in her eyes, Mr. Sterling and Mrs. Sterling’s marriage was too perfect.
"I’m the daughter of him and Claire Sullivan."
Serena pressed her lips together, noticing Finn’s confusion.
"Did Mr. Sterling and your mom have an affair?"
This was really unexpected.
However, how could Finn know about events from over twenty years ago?
"I’m not fully clear on what happened back then, either," Serena also had many questions in her heart, so she returned to The Sterling Family to find out the truth.
"However, before Simon Sterling got married, he had me with Claire Sullivan."
