Mr. Sterling, Mrs. Sterling is Multifaceted!-Chapter 260: Farewell at the Airport
"Even if it’s for work or studies, you must not extend your break time beyond nine in the evening. Don’t attend any insignificant gatherings either, and if any tycoons try to approach you, reject them all." Ethan’s tone was filled with worry.
"Alright."
That last phrase, even if he didn’t mention it, she would have done it anyway.
Dealing with other conglomerates was something she could never bring herself to do.
"I’m going to Y Nation for a long time this time, and I’m leaving Nathan here to handle affairs. If you encounter any issues and need his help, just instruct him directly; no need to tell me." Ethan pinched Seraphina’s cheek, "Understand? Hm?"
The last word was lazy and magnetic, like a small hook making one feel ticklish.
"Alright."
Seraphina knew it was his way of showing concern for her.
Ethan was on the verge of closing his eyes when he suddenly remembered something, snapping them open, "If you need Nathan’s help, remember to let Nanny Lynch relay the message."
Last time, Seraphina quickly took a liking to the kitten he recommended, something he recalled quite clearly.
"Huh? Why?" Seraphina was puzzled.
"Are you eager to interact with Nathan alone?"
Ethan’s face darkened; the smile he had moments ago was now gone, and the anger emanating from him was hard to ignore.
Now, Seraphina understood what Ethan meant, and with dissatisfaction, she got up and moved to sit on the side, "Ethan, your jealousy is astounding, not sparing even animals."
These days, the little deer suffered under Ethan’s wicked hand, and now even the unsuspecting Nathan was affected.
"So what?"
Ethan snorted coldly. He wished for Seraphina to be his alone, with him being the only one clinging to her side.
Seraphina belonged to him.
"No, nothing," Seraphina didn’t intend to delve deeper into this matter, finding it pointless, "You should leave now; it’s getting late. Safe travels."
"Is that all there is to it?" Ethan crossed his arms, expressing dissatisfaction.
She truly regretted coming to see him off.
Seraphina told herself not to get angry, clenching her fists, "Fine, then remember to send me some peace updates once you reach Y Nation."
Ethan was clearly a man who pushed his luck; hearing Seraphina’s words made him curl his lips, "Can’t bear to leave me? Then come with me to Y Nation."
"No, I have a speech to give." Seraphina rejected the offer directly.
"You can address that later."
"No way." Seraphina sensed that Ethan’s mood was beginning to show signs of anger, quickly saying, "Who was it that urged me to swiftly rebuild Veridian Isle? So that we can discuss our matters sooner."
Ethan sat there, his sharp gaze fixated on Seraphina’s face.
Ha.
Using his own words to corner him.
Truly becoming more capable.
After a while, Ethan relaxed slightly, adjusting his collar with a not-so-pleasant tone, "Fine, go, as if I’m reluctant to see you leave."
"Mm, you’re not. Be safe on the road."
Seraphina nodded, initially intending to leave right away, but after thinking it over again, she showed him a small but incredibly warm smile.
Then she proceeded to head out.
Suddenly, Seraphina’s slender wrist was held firmly, forcibly pulling her back inwards, leading her entirely out of control.
The next second, Seraphina felt herself sink into a soft pile of cotton—onto the sofa—as Ethan leaned in, his broad frame enveloping her completely.
Wide-eyed, Seraphina gazed at the man looming close. His features were exceptionally striking, with sharp lines; more would be too much, less too dull, especially his nose, quite pronounced, with eye sockets deeper than others, carrying a slight mixed heritage aura.
Amber eyes refracted light, like a vortex easily ensnaring one, making escape impossible.
Seraphina knew this man deeply missed her, so she gently caressed his back, her voice soft as a whisper, "Just one week, it’ll pass quickly."
"Quick? Do you think a week passes quickly?" Ethan felt separation for even a day would lead to despair.
"..."
A week does seem to pass fast, with so many things filling life, gone with a blink.
Ethan watched her, where his gaze landed made Seraphina feel flushed.
He slowly lowered his head, one hand bracing beside her ear, the other lifting her chin, gently capturing her lips.
This time it wasn’t the rush of a storm but more like the gentle tender breeze of early spring.
He started to savor her taste bit by bit.
Seraphina subconsciously responded, exchanging breaths with him, causing a delightful tickle in her heart.
She wondered if others kissed in this manner but knew Ethan’s kisses always carried a charm, conveying his thoughts to her, making her limbs weak and heart race, a magical sensation.
Ethan adjusted her hands where she embraced him, leading her to tighten her hold, driving the kiss deeper.
Finally, Seraphina’s mind buzzed, unaware of when it ended, the duration unknown, soft in his embrace as she regained clarity.
"Make sure to think of me." Ethan looked at her tenderly, wishing this moment could last a bit longer.
After a while, Ethan added, "Remember not to let that ugly cat on my bed."
Recently, he noticed the cat favored sneaking onto his spot when he’s not around.
"So can I leave now?" Seraphina said, resting on his chest, her voice carrying a lazy tone.
This tone stirred Ethan’s nerves, making him wish to pin this woman down again for another round of kissing, but there was really no time.
Ethan escorted Seraphina off the plane.
He gazed at her deeply, emotions overflowing, giving the impression his world held nothing else apart from Seraphina.
"Take care, mind your health, call me when you arrive." Seraphina reiterated her earlier words.
"You’re so naggy." Despite Ethan’s verbal complaints, the slight curve of his lips exposed the joy within.
Seraphina couldn’t bear his departure.
"Goodbye then." Seraphina flashed him a sweet smile before getting back into the car, starting the engine and driving away.
Ethan watched the car vanish from sight, standing there for a long time.
After Ethan left, Seraphina didn’t lighten up. She continued to shuttle between The Law Council and school, finding herself in the private villa on her breaks, returning to the Hibiscus Garden late.
Later, she simply stopped returning to Hibiscus Garden, opting to stay at the private villa instead.
