Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 797: No Sloppy Attire Allowed
Utilities included?
Evelyn Linton thoughtfully assessed Scott Sutton, clearly tempted by his offer.
Scott Sutton noticed Evelyn Linton’s hesitation and added, "I’ll increase the rent by 500 more on top of that, and I’ll transfer it to you immediately."
Upon hearing this, Evelyn Linton was even more tempted. That’s 1,500 for three months, quite a windfall, and she couldn’t bring herself to refuse.
However, Evelyn still tried to maintain some sense of reason, saying, "I need to discuss it with Belle to see what she thinks..."
"I agree, I have no objections!" Belle, who had been eavesdropping by the stairs, jumped in before Evelyn Linton finished speaking.
Evelyn Linton gave Belle a stern look and scolded, "Get back to your room!"
Belle chuckled cheekily and said, "As you command!"
Scott Sutton couldn’t help but smirk and asked Evelyn, "So?"
Evelyn turned to look at Scott with a slight pause and said, "If you really want to stay, it’s not impossible, but I have conditions."
Scott Sutton asked, "Let’s hear them."
Evelyn thought seriously and said, "First, don’t bring any of your rowdy friends here; second, once you step out of your room, you must dress appropriately, no roaming around in disheveled clothes."
Scott Sutton couldn’t help but tease, "Can this rule apply to you too?"
Evelyn, flustered and angry, said, "Don’t worry! If you hadn’t tricked me, I wouldn’t have dressed like that in front of you!"
Initially, Evelyn didn’t regard him as a man, thinking they were all girls, and didn’t pay much attention, but now just thinking about it annoyed her!
"The third and most important rule, do not come here drunk and cause a ruckus. If it happens even once, you have to move out immediately!"
Scott Sutton nodded readily, "Alright, is that all?"
Evelyn added, "Oh, and no smoking in public areas. I’ll write these down, then you have to sign it, otherwise you’ll deny it again."
After saying that, Evelyn pulled some paper and a pen from a nearby drawer and carefully drafted the terms, afraid that any poorly written clause would provide a loophole for Scott Sutton.
After meticulously checking several times, Evelyn handed the pen to Scott Sutton, "Sign here."
Scott Sutton took the pen, and Evelyn pointed to the lower right corner of the paper, "Sign right here."
Scott complied and penned his name, then pressed his handprint down.
Evelyn carefully stored the agreement away, not forgetting to remind Scott Sutton, "You said you’d give an extra 500, don’t forget to transfer it to me."
Scott immediately pulled out his phone and transferred the 1,500 to Evelyn.
Seeing the money made Evelyn feel much better. She got up, locked the door, and while heading upstairs, instructed Scott Sutton, "Remember to turn off the lights when you come up."
Seeing it was almost 1 AM, Scott Sutton returned to his room, changed into his pajamas, and just as he was about to sleep, there was another knock on the door.
Scott got up to open it, and of course, it was Evelyn Linton standing outside.
"Is there anything else you find unsatisfactory, Miss Linton?"
Evelyn said, "I’m just here to tell you to buy new sheets and bedding when you have time and return mine cleaned."
Scott Sutton couldn’t help but laugh, realizing that she was losing sleep over this, "Wouldn’t it be better if I just bought new ones for you?"
Evelyn raised her eyebrows, "If you’re willing, that’s fine too."
Scott Sutton asked, "Do you want to pick something and send me the link, or should I transfer the money to you directly?"
Evelyn replied, "Don’t solve everything with money. Just buy for yourself, and I want my own back, cleaned please."
After speaking, Evelyn turned and went back to her room.
Scott returned to his room and, while lying on the bed, looked at the set and then ordered similar sheets reflecting Evelyn’s style.
...
The Suttons.
Because Vanessa Sterling requested to leave Blackie in the care of Audrey Sutton, Audrey asked her elder brother to pick up Vanessa after his evening class.
Audrey suggested packing for camping and staying overnight at the Suttons so they wouldn’t need to regroup in the morning.
When Vanessa arrived, Audrey promptly abandoned Shane and Anna to sleep with Vanessa. Before long, claiming she couldn’t fall asleep, Phoebe also joined them.
Hearing the commotion, Laura Yates joined them too.
That night, the women, excited about their outing, didn’t fall asleep for quite some time.
Shane woke up from a nap in the night to make formula for Anna and could still hear muttering from that room.
He frowned, knocked on the door, and instructed through the door, "Go to sleep!"
The people inside quieted down instantly, like students being caught by the dorm teacher.
Shane stood outside for a few more seconds to listen before turning away.
However, as soon as he left, the women resumed their quiet chatter, far from ready to sleep.
Only around four in the morning did they finally succumb to sleepiness.
The next morning at eight, Audrey was awoken by calls from Flora Lane and the others. Still groggy from lack of sleep, she yawned down the stairs to find Shane downstairs with three children.
Before they even greeted each other, upon seeing Audrey come down, Shane cast a sharp look of disapproval her way.
Audrey smiled flatteringly and asked, "Why are you the only one here? Where’s Mom?"
Before she could finish her question, Hazel Yates’ voice echoed from the dining area, her tone suggesting that Shane had already complained to her, "Waking up and calling ’Mom’, ’Mom’, lucky you can still get up at this hour. I heard you all didn’t sleep until past three last night."
Audrey awkwardly mumbled, "Who told you that nonsense..."
She quickly changed the topic, "Mom, what are you busy with?"
Hazel replied, "You’re all fussing about going out to play, but not preparing anything, would that do?"
Audrey approached to see maids packing snacks into boxes, beaming, she asked, "Are these for us?"
Hazel replied, "Mom woke up at five this morning to make all these, a little of each flavor. Since Phoebe loves this sour plum flavor now, I made more. Bring them along for snacking on the road so you won’t have to resort to unhealthy junk food."
Audrey immediately clung to Hazel’s arm affectionately, "Mom, you’re the best. Is there anything I can help with?"
Hazel shot her a look, "If not, help Shane watch the kids. Your older brothers have gone to work. What time is it already? You should wake everyone up, gather things properly, so you don’t end up all rushed and forgetful."
