Mr. Yuan’s Dilemma: Can’t Help Falling in Love with You-Chapter 322 - Her Love for Him Was Immeasurably Deep
Chapter 322: Her Love for Him Was Immeasurably Deep
The woman was tossed into the car. Her emotions crashed like turbulent waves. Violent rage caused her body to tremble uncontrollably.
Yuan Xuan could feel the resentment in Mu Chenyan’s bloodshot eyes. He knew that her current condition was caused by her drunken stupor last night and the stressful event that she had just experienced. He reminded himself to be the bigger person.
He decided to pamper her!
Yuan Xuan suppressed the anger in his heart. Throughout their journey, he noticed that Mu Chenyan was glaring at him indignantly. His chest was brimming with fury when they reached Hibiscus Garden.
He dragged her into the bedroom despite her protests. Yuan Xuan pushed her onto the bed and covered her with a blanket.
“What are you doing?”
Mu Chenyan was vexed!
She struggled for awhile before realizing that it was futile. She could not even move her arms because Yuan Xuan was pressing the edges of the sheets down.
Her fluffy head was exposed, and everything below her neck was hidden under the sheets.
“Nothing! Go to sleep!” Yuan Xuan said as he tucked her in.
Sleep?
How could he expect her to sleep when it was still bright outside?
“Are you crazy?” Mu Chenyan cursed angrily.
“You need to sleep because your mind is still foggy! I’ll talk to you when you’re awake.”
It seemed as though Yuan Xuan had seen through Mu Chenyan. He countered her immediately.
Mu Chenyan did not know what to say at the moment.
She finally stopped thrashing about and merely glared at Yuan Xuan angrily. The man rose and walked to the balcony. He was about to light his cigarette when he noticed that Mu Chenyan was clambering to sit up. Annoyed, Yuan Xuan charged over and pressed her down again.
“I’m not going to sleep! I’ve sobered up…”
Mu Chenyan objected while panting with rage.
“I told you to sleep!”
This man had never been so rude and unreasonable. He appeared fiercer now than he did in the past!
Mu Chenyan turned away. She did not want to meet his calm gaze that concealed nothing but false pretences.
“Little Chenyan, listen to me. Go to sleep and forget the things that are making you unhappy.”
Yuan Xuan realized that he had frightened her when she stopped opposing him. He lowered his voice and spoke slowly instead. “Everything will be over soon. Will you be a good girl?”
Mu Chenyan heard the miserable tone in Yuan Xuan’s voice and forced herself to calm down.
Mu Chenwu’s statements were illogical. Even if Yuan Xuan had feelings for Qinger, he would not have instructed her to harm Ye Kun. Mu Chenyan had seen through the flaws in this argument already.
That was why she doubted the things that Mu Chenwu said as well.
However, her heart felt stifled when she recalled how Yuan Xuan had left with Qinger last night.
She still wanted to kick up a fuss…
Yuan Xuan spared no effort to hide the resentment between the Yuan Family and Mu Family.
Nonetheless, he still treated her like she was one of his personal possessions. Mu Chenyan could not stand this!
Mu Chenyan was forced to rely on her own assumptions because her brother did not give her a full account of everything.
Mu Chenwu only sent her to the hospital because her mind was overwhelmed with doubts.
She could not trust anyone besides her mother now!
Sadly, Yan Mei could not tell her anything…
Everything was tormenting her. She truly hoped that it was all a dream.
Mu Chenyan quickly exhausted herself by letting her imagination run wild. She had not slept properly last night either, so very soon her eyelids was beginning to feel heavy …
Yuan Xuan sighed in relief when Mu Chenyan fell asleep.
He was still smoking on the balcony when he received a call from Yan Jun.
“Young Master, that b*stard Mu Chenwu is extremely cunning. There were three identical silver-colored vans and two of them had fake number plates. Our men lost sight of him after a short while. He managed to escape!”
Yan Jun had never met someone like Mu Chenwu. He was unbelievably skilled at diverting them when they pursued him.
He had slipped away from their grasp again and again as if he was a mudfish.
Yuan Xuan smoked on the balcony for a little while. He looked at the grassy hills in the distance. It was chilly now that autumn was here.
Yuan Xuan knitted his eyebrows together. He lowered his voice and said, “There’s no need to rush! He’ll be at death’s door soon enough.”
Mu Chenwu had really learned his strategies from Mu Feng. Yuan Xuan blamed himself for underestimating him earlier.
Mu Chenwu lost his right-hand man when Yuan Zhe died. This prompted him to seek Mu Chenyan now.
He would become more and more reckless if he was not caught.

The underground section below a construction site near Green Smoke Mountain was one of Mu Chenwu’s hiding places. He planned his battle strategies here. This place was extremely sturdy because it was built to withstand the worst fights.
Previously, he had managed to keep this large-scale project hidden with Yuan Zhe’s help.
Unfortunately, Yuan Zhe had met with an accident. Mu Chenwu knew that this place would be exposed sooner or later.
He did not want his efforts to fail at the eleventh hour. The Mu Family had prospered in Luo Hai for several decades. Failure was simply not an option.
“Chenwu, where were you today?”
The hoarse voice came from an old man wearing a gauze mask. He looked rather sinister.
Mu Feng faked his own death four years ago by killing a man who was similar in age, physique, and appearance to him. He got to spend the next few years living a meaningless life as a reward. Ironically, God seemed to have another plan to make him leave this world.
He was diagnosed with lung cancer. His days were numbered as he had already started coughing up blood.
“Father, I went to see Mu Chenyan!”
Mu Chenwu walked over and supported Mu Feng’s extremely frail body.
Yuan Xuan was hot on their heels.
They were too afraid to visit the hospital for chemotherapy. They could only hide here and rely on traditional Chinese medicine for now.
Mu Feng’s health was deteriorating. His breathing had become uneven these few days.
The site that they used to plan their battle tactics was surrounded by hills. It was hard to get here since it was extremely remote.
Mu Feng scanned his surroundings and sneered coldly. “Do you think Mu Chenyan will help us?”
“It doesn’t matter whether she helps us or not. I just want to give Yuan Xuan hell!”
A sinister smile appeared on Mu Chenwu’s face as he spoke. “At least he’s underestimating me now!”
“Are you sure that you haven’t made any risky moves?”
Mu Feng did not have complete faith in his son.
“Frankly, some things will definitely change as we’ve lost Yuan Zhe’s help this time, but I’m too busy to handle so many matters at once. Yuan Xuan has already transferred his foreign forces back here. Nonetheless, he won’t have enough time to manage everything due to the tremendous changes that are happening to the Yuan Family!”
Mu Chenwu glanced at his father as he spoke. “Yuan Xuan’s next target is definitely Yuan Tangzhong. I’m going to use this opportunity to ambush him!”
Mu Feng began to cough violently when he heard this. He panted heavily before breaking out into a smirk. He then exclaimed, “Perhaps I’m being punished! I’d be rather upset if I die in a place like this…”
“Don’t worry, father. I won’t let you die this way. I’ll take you to the hospital once we’ve gotten rid of the Mu Family…”
“It’ll be too late!”
Mu Feng leaned weakly against the chair. His eyes were half closed, and his lips trembled. Suddenly, he cried, “Now I felt sorry for your mother! If she hadn’t insisted on leaving me for Ye Kun, I wouldn’t have drugged her and instructed my body double to drive off with her in a speeding car.”
Mu Chenwu lowered his head and lit a cigarette. He knew of this matter all too well.
That car had been modified.
It had went out of control instantly when it went for a high-speed sharp turn.
The scapegoat had no idea that his appearance had been altered surgically. All he was instructed to do was to bring back an unconscious lady and a box of cash. Then, he had driven the car on the highway and met his death.
He actually thought that he had hit the jackpot with this one…
“I despised her! But I also loved her…”
Mu Feng’s lips quivered before he laughed sadistically. “Unfortunately, she only had eyes for Ye Kun! The previous matters would never have been exposed if she hadn’t secretly released Ye Kun in Xi Fan…”
“Father, stop bringing this up!” Mu Chenwu held a grudge against his father for his decision.
However, Yan Mei’s involvement in the situation was vital at that time. If Yan Mei was not there, Yuan Xuan would probably have trouble believing that the man who died in the car crash was Mu Feng.
“Divine retribution!” Mu Feng continued, smiling. “I’m afraid that I’ll be leaving before her. If your mother ever wakes up, I… I hope that she doesn’t end up with Ye Kun…”
“Don’t worry!” Mu Chenwu’s carefree tone was laced with a murderous aura. “Ye Kun got lucky the last time! We must kill him because he knows too much already. Otherwise, it’ll be difficult for us to establish ourselves in Luo Hai even if we cause Yuan Xuan to stumble.”
Mu Feng nodded and coughed. “You’ll be the only one left in the Mu Family in the future. At the end of the day, Mu Chenyan…”
Mu Feng’s breathing was thrown off when he mentioned Mu Chenyan. He coughed violently for some time before calming down with much difficulty. He still resented her.
He glanced at his son. “If I didn’t know that your mum couldn’t handle it, I would’ve killed her right when she was born.”
“Father!” Mu Chenwu stood up and paced up and down the room. “Mother isn’t the only one to be blamed for this! You must remember that it wasn’t a one-sided wish when she got pregnant with Mu Chenyan!”
Yan Mei always remarked that she could see traces of Mu Feng in Mu Chenwu. She was not particularly fond of her son because of that. Their relationship was also strained for a period of time.
In spite of that, Mu Chenwu would not allow Mu Feng to put all the blame on Yan Mei.
“Alright, I won’t say that anymore. Take care of yourself and remember that she’s not a member of the Yuan Family anymore…”
“She still promised to help me get the serial numbers of Yuan Xuan’s ships and the schedule that lists the times when they leave the port to go to his oilfield at sea. I won’t have any problems destroying Yuan Xuan once I’ve obtained those things!”

Hibiscus Garden…
The sky was already turning dark when Mu Chenyan awakened. She had slept soundly throughout the entire day and missed lunch.
She only realized how hungry she was when she woke up.
Ah Fu peeked inside from the corridor. She asked cautiously when she saw that Mu Chenyan is awake, “Mistress, are you hungry?”
Mu Chenyan nodded gently. “Where is the Young Master?”
“He just went out. He told me to cook some herbal porridge for you before he left!
“Would you like to have some now?”
Mu Chenyan glanced at the balcony. The ashtray on the windowsill was filled with cigarette butts. She guessed that her husband had stood there and smoked for a long time while she was asleep.
The Mid-Autumn Festival would be here in three days.
According to established customs, the influential aristocratic families would be holding banquets around this time.
The Yuan Family’s banquet would certainly be less grand this year due to Yuan Zhe’s incident. Nonetheless, it would not be a terribly shabby affair since the Yuan Family was still a powerful household.
Yuan Xuan would probably be occupied with the preparation for the banquet for the next few days.
Mu Chenyan got up and changed her clothes when she thought of that. She walked past Yuan Xuan’s study and saw the computer that he usually used for work.
Mu Chenyan had no idea why Mu Chenwu wanted the serial numbers of the boats that Yuan Xuan’s company used for oil extraction. He also wanted the records that listed when they entered and left the port.
She was too afraid to make any rash decisions as she could not guess his motives.
However, Mu Chenwu had promised to leave Luo Hai once he had obtained those documents. He had abandon his desire for revenge as well. At least this would allow the Mu Family’s bloodline to live on…
Since Yuan Xuan had already controlled Mu Chenyan and Yan Mei, Mu Chenyan’s greatest wish was to save Mu Chenwu.
Mu Chenyan pondered for awhile. She had planned to observe the situation first and act later, but she hesitated now. She made sure that Ah Fu was still in the kitchen before pushing open the door that led to Yuan Xuan’s study.
There were no surveillance cameras inside Hibiscus Garden because Yuan Xuan prioritized his privacy.
Mu Chenyan thought about how brave she was to be doing this.
When she turned Yuan Xuan’s computer on, she noticed that it took a long time to start.
She had never done anything like this before. Mu Chenyan was so anxious that her forehead was covered in sweat.
It required a password!
Mu Chenyan’s heart thumped wildly. She felt like a secret agent.
She tried her birth date.
Wrong!
She tried Yuan Xuan’s birth date instead.
Wrong again!
Mu Chenyan’s head was spinning. It was harder for her to come up with ideas now when she was so nervous.
“Mistress, your porridge is ready. Where are you?”
Ah Fu’s voice echoed from downstairs. Mu Chenyan startled and turned off the computer in a flash.
‘What’s the password?’ thought Mu Chenyan. She was completely clueless at the moment.
She decided not to act rashly. There would be plenty of time to do this!
Mu Chenyan went downstairs. Her gaze met Yuan Xuan’s bright eyes just as she turned the corner.
The man’s dazzling eyes were beaming with joy. “Have you sobered up? Do you feel better after sleeping throughout the entire afternoon?”
Mu Chenyan could tell that he was teasing her from his tone of voice. She did not want to talk to him at all. After all, he would assume that she was just causing unnecessary trouble if she tried to confront him.
Yuan Xuan took the herbal porridge from Ah Fu. He pulled Mu Chenyan over with his other hand and sat her at the dining table.
Mu Chenyan watched Yuan Xuan as he gently stirred the porridge while holding the bowl. He used his lips to test its temperature and murmured, “You can eat it now!”
Mu Chenyan turned away when Yuan Xuan scooped a spoonful of porridge for her. He wanted to feed her, but she was too embarrassed to let him do it. “What do you think you’re doing?”
Yuan Xuan took a deep breath. He put the bowl down and grasped his wife’s hands instead. His smooth hands were always warm. He held her little hand in his palm and whispered, “Qinger was harassed by several art buyers when she got drunk last night!”
Mu Chenyan shivered when she heard this. Her shocked voice was tinged with panic. “Did I ask?”
Yuan Xuan’s large hands did not flinch. He continued, “I rushed to the Golden Age Club when she called me. I didn’t know that you were there too when I took her away.
“I went there with Tian Qi, Yan Jun, and a few other people. Mistress, should I ask the witnesses to come over?”
Yuan Xuan spoke earnestly. His gentle, resplendent eyes melted Mu Chenyan’s heart. She whispered, “They have to obey you because they’re your subordinates. What’s the point of getting them to testify on your behalf?”
Mu Chenyan guessed that he had visited Golden Age in the evening. Yuan Xuan had probably noticed her when she was standing in the corner of the corridor watching him save Shu Qinger.
“You have to come to me at once in the future if there are doubts in your heart. You already know that Qinger had been assaulted when she tried to saved me. I can’t bear to watch someone else abuse her again!”
Yuan Xuan’s palms were too warm, and Mu Chenyan’s hands began to sweat. She attempted to pull away but Yuan Xuan refused to let her go.
Mu Chenyan sighed internally. Affection and resentment stirred in her heart when she looked at the man before her.
Her love for him was immeasurably deep. She loved all of his virtues and his flaws.
Yuan Xuan was besotted with her as well, but he still cherished Qinger.
At the same time, Mu Chenyan hated Yuan Xuan for enduring everything in silence. Nonetheless, she pitied him because of his circumstances.
He was surrounded by troublesome women. Qinger was a liar who took advantage of his remorseful heart. The Old Mistress was selfish and possessive, holding him hostage with the fact that they’re mother and son. Meanwhile, Mu Chenyan insisted on arguing with him regarding certain matters due to the feud between their families…
“I know that already!” Frankly, Mu Chenyan felt slightly better now. She realized that her jealous fit was actually quite ridiculous when she recalled what had happened yesterday…
“Yuan Xuan, do you still remember the most memorable day of your life?”
Mu Chenyan casually glanced at him when she asked the question suddenly. She took the bowl of porridge from him, stirring it to hide her nervousness.
“Yes, it was the first time I laid eyes on you under the pomegranate tree in spring!”
