MTL - The Mage Behind the Scenes From the Twin Cities-Chapter 17 Tranquility before the storm
As night draws near, the Forgan Tavern welcomes an unusual guest.
"Silco, how did you promise me! You said you would be optimistic about her, this time we killed 6 law enforcement officers! 6!"
The middle-aged man in the law enforcement officer's uniform was angry and glared at Shirko, who had a dull face in front of him.
"Six? You should be thankful that she didn't blow you up. Sheriff Marcus" Silko was expressionless.
"What do you mean?" Marcus tightened his expression and his eyes were vigilant.
"That person was locked in Jingshui Prison. You didn't tell me, I thought she was dead."
Shirko's eyes flashed with coldness, he used the cigar tongs in his hand to sever the cigar head, lit it and took a puff.
"This... how do you know?" Marcus was dumbfounded. "She will be locked there forever, and no one will find out."
"Oh, she has already been released. The lady of the Gila Mann family will personally propose her, and the document will be signed by the new MP."
Sirco spoke slowly, but Marcus could feel the other party's killing intent.
He was a little nervous, and he couldn't care about the deaths of the six law enforcement officers, so he said in a panic:
"I really don't know that. I can't manage the affairs of the congressman, not to mention that Gila Mann is always restless."
"Yeah, so your mistakes always have to pay some price." Shirko stood up and looked down at Marcus, who was sweating coldly, "Tonight, I will make a big noise in the west of the city, I don't think you will care ,Is it right?"
"West of the city? Stillwater Prison? But hasn't she been released?" Marcus looked nervous.
"But I still have a subordinate there. It is said that the people you caught in the Wildfire Gang are also there. Recently, we have been getting a headache from the Wildfire Gang. It's time to find something for them."
"Don't mess around. Today, the council issued an order to investigate Zaun thoroughly. You will kill us all like this." Marcus' eyes widened.
"It's over? As long as you cooperate, nothing will happen. Instead, with the help of the Wildfire Gang, you can still take a small step forward."
Sirco stepped forward, lightly tidied up Marcus' clothes, and looked at him with a half-smile.
"I..." Marcus opened his mouth, feeling the eyes of the two big men behind him, and said silently, "I will cooperate with you, but you have to promise me not to expose this."
"Don't worry, we are partners. Not to mention our friendship, you are more valuable than you think."
Hirko looked satisfied, made a gesture of invitation to Marcus, and asked his subordinates to take him away.
After Marcus left, Victor, who had been sitting not far away, said:
"Still Water Prison, do you need my help?"
"Mr. Butler, I don't need to bother you to feign, I'll just let Jinx go." Hilko refused with a smile.
In his eyes, Jinx's destructive power is much smaller than that of Victor, and at most it is a little girl's slapstick.
Really let Victor go there, and once the launch line goes down, Zhencheng and Picheng will never die.
Besides, if the Gila Mann family is in trouble, maybe the housekeeper will need help.
"I wish you all success. I will be in Piltover at night. I can send a signal if I need help."
Viktor threw a signal flare he had just made to Shirko and left the Fogan Tavern from the door.
"Would you like to follow him?" Sevika shook the more powerful mechanical arm with eagerness on her face.
"If you want to change another robotic arm, I don't mind you doing it." Hilko threw the flare to her, "Do what you should do, and don't screw me up tonight."
"Don't worry, I'm more reliable than that guy. You'd better worry about Stillwater Prison." Sevika grinned and swaggered away.
......
Half an hour later, Jace's grumbling sound came from inside the Hexfly Gate:
"Yesterday's events were not that simple at all. The smuggling case and the building bombing case are just the tip of the iceberg. The smuggling of Feimen happens every day, and Zaan's Wildfire Gang and the forces that control Shimmer have never stopped."
He was standing on a platform pacing, with a worried look on his face.
"That's why you called me here? Listen to how disharmonious the Upper Town and the Lower Town are. These shouldn't be under our control. We are scientists." Victor frowned.
The monocle had been taken off by him long ago. He was called here by Jace as soon as he returned to Piltover. He thought there was something new Hex discovered, but he didn't expect it to be some scumbags in the upper and lower cities.
"Victor, I'm a congressman now! It's my duty to protect Hexfly Gate." Jace looked resolute.
"Professor Heimerdinger is not as dedicated as you are."
Victor leaned against the railing beside the platform, looking at the determination on Jace's face, thinking of what he had experienced in Zaun, he was silent for a while before speaking:
"Do you remember what you promised me? To seek development for the people of Xiacheng. I am a native of Zaan, and I know what Xiancheng people lack, so that they can live with dignity, and most of your troubles will be solved immediately. ."
Jace sighed wearily, with helplessness on his face:
"I'm really sorry for not mentioning our other projects in the speech, but soon we'll be able to..."
"Soon?" Victor sneered, "You are Mr. Piltover, the distinguished Member of Parliament. You need someone else's permission to promote some technologies? When you were promoting Hextech, you didn't have this concern now."
"Victor, you don't understand..." Jace looked puzzled, "Because I'm standing in a different position now, so I need to think about more things, but please believe me, I solved this matter, I will do it."
"Yeah, the position is different." Victor smiled self-deprecatingly with disappointment in his eyes.
I've already realized it myself, haven't I?
Deng, Deng, Deng.
There was a sound of footsteps, and Sheriff Marcus straightened up and walked to Jace.
He glanced at Victor out of the corner of his eye, and felt that his face was familiar, but when he thought that the other party was a famous scientist from Piltover, the popular man beside the two congressmen was relieved, and respectfully said to Jace:
"Mr. Senator, I heard that you are looking for me?"
"Have you checked all these lists?" Jess pointed to the documents in his hand and asked.
"I assure you..."
"I just want to clear all the illegal products." Jace interrupted forcefully.
"I can't say for sure, you have to talk to the other congressmen." Marcus shrugged.
Looking at Jace who was staring at him, his face became a little more troubled, but he still gritted his teeth and reminded:
"Mr. Congressman, I don't think you should care about this now."
"Don't care? These will affect the safety of Flying Gate. If I don't care, I should step down." Jace laughed.
"However, I received a message that the people in the lower city want to storm the Stillwater Prison tonight. If it is not dealt with there, Mr. Senator, you are not far from stepping down." Marcus finally said it.
Victor's figure was blocked by Jace's tall body, and he listened to the conversation in front of him with a half-smile.
"Stillwater Prison? That should be something your magistrates should deploy. Why is it related to my resignation?" Jace looked a little puzzled.
"Mr. Congressman, Miss Gilamann went to Stillwater Prison to pick up a prisoner with your signed paperwork." Marcus reminded, "That prisoner is about the balance between us and the city. She is in the prison, everyone If there is nothing wrong with each other, if she comes out, there will be trouble in the city."
"Why is the prisoner so important?" Jace laughed angrily. "Also, when did we Piltover need to compromise with a group of terrorists?"
"Mr. Congressman, I am risking the death of my family to remind you that if you have this attitude, I will take it as my belief in the wrong person." Marcus smiled mockingly, shook his head and was about to leave.
"Please wait a moment, Mr. Sheriff." Jace hesitated for a moment, but stopped Marcus.
